This is a Suspense Romance, and this is the first book in the Alaska K-9 Unit series. I really enjoy getting to know these characters and the dogs, and the romance part of this book was cute. I think the suspense part of this book could be a little bit better. I just found parts of the suspense unbelievable. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Love Inspired Suspense) or author (Terri Reed) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

This book kept me reading to find out what was going to happen to the characters and how the search for some of the characters was going to go. I loved the setting and the inclusion of the K9 units. It was fun to see how Hunter and Ariel grow as a couple. I can hardly wait to read more in the series to find out what is going to happen to other characters and find out more about the plot that is going to keep going through the series. I received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Loved this first book in the Alaska K-9 Series. I haven't read many books set in Alaska let alone one with K-9 cops. the suspense kept my attention and there was just the right amount of romance. And of course cute husky puppy.

I am so happy to start reading this new series about these beautiful Alaskan K-9 and their wonderful handlers. Can’t wait to see what mysteries they solve.

The start of a series involving the Alaskan K-9 unit, this book raises some questions that will hopefully be resolved in the other books. Besides the questions that go unanswered for the moment, the book focuses on trusting and how love heals with the help of faith in God. I enjoyed the dogs in the book but I found the romance lacking a bit of build up. It just felt that the two main protagonists, Ariel and Hunter, just existed in the same space with each other and fell in love. There was very little back and forth dialog that contributed to the building of trust and flirting that normally goes on to cement the reader in the moment for the romance. However, the scenes were well written to develop the suspense and intrigue so it does leave the reader wanting to know what happens in the next book.

Someone wants dog trainer, Ariel Potter dead, but she doesn't know who. It is up to her, State Trooper Hunter McCord, and his K-9 partner Juneau to get to the bottom of things before it is too late.

A suspenseful read that starts with a bang, and a string of break-ins that leave Hunter and Ariel wondering if they are all connected. This is a great start to a new series, but also shines on its own, with a full cast of characters and a fast moving plot.

A well balanced read with wonderful characters, riveting plot, plenty of action and relationship building along the way. I loved how Hunter is supportive of Ariel's passion of raising and training dogs, and how they are both committed to their faith. Fantastic read!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Who is Ariel? Where is she from? What does she do for a living? What about Violet? Who is she and how does she know Ariel? When and how did they meet? What do we learn about Lance and Jared? How does everyone know each other? Who are Lorenza, Hunter, Helena, Luna, Will, Sean, and Grace? What are they all a part of? Gabriel's concern was interesting. How and why did Ariel get separated from her party? Where are they? What is VIolet up to and why? What is she blamed for? How does Ariel know someone named Jason? When was the last time she saw him? Where is she the next time she sees him? Why is he there? What happens at that event? Who is Carly? What does she do for a living? Or, what does she 'try' to do? Who is behind everything happening to Ariel? Who is being accused of it? Where is Violet? What is really going on with Lance and Jared's story? Why doesn't Ariel believe it? This suspenseful romance was a really fun read for me! I enjoyed it to the hilt!

Alaskan Rescue by Terri Reed is the first book in the Love Inspired Suspense continuity series Alaskan K-9 Unit. I love LIS K-9 stories because the dogs take such an active role and are part of the happily ever after that is a hallmark of LIS stories. The fact that this series takes place in Alaska adds to the enjoyment.

A simple hike turns dangerous when Ariel Potter is pushed over the side of a cliff. She is rescued by Alaskan state trooper Hunter McCord and his K-9 partner, Juneau. When it’s determined her life is still at risk, both Hunter and Juneau take personal responsibility for her safety.

Ariel Potter is a breeder who raises champion dog sledders. She is a likable, if a tad eccentric, woman who loves her dogs and will do anything for them. Like let a man invade her space to keep them safe. I loved the pace of their relationship and Juneau easily became a favorite of mine. Anything involving sled dogs is usually a win for me!

If you’re looking for a shorter, suspenseful romance, definitely pick up a copy of Alaskan Rescue. I’m looking forward to the next books in the series to see how the loose threads unfold.

Alaskan Rescue is a romantic suspense and is the first in a new series with Love Inspired Suspense. It opens with a mystery as the wedding party is out hiking. Hunter and his K9 partner Juneau are called out when they hear there is trouble and some of the wedding party is missing.
I enjoyed how she has an interesting career and the dogs were precious.
It is part of a series so even though it has a conclusion there is an ongoing mystery too.
The author did a good job with the mystery that it could go several different ways.

I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review.

Ariel one of the bridesmaids that was recovered by state trooper Hunter and his k-9 partner after a wedding party goes missing while hiking. When a person winds up dead and other people from the wedding party was recovered the stories told just don't add up. After a couple attempts at Ariel and those around her its clear something is going on and Hunter will do everything in his power to figure out what's going on.

I love a good mystery suspense novel. I love when things are starting to seem okay that's when something pops up and they gotta figure out what's going on because clearly nothing was all right. Some one was out there after her or something or another. I love that this book kept me on my toes and there was never a dull moment. I even enjoyed the romance that was simmering though the book but remained clean. Overall this was a pretty great book highly reocmmend!

I loved the remote mountain setting in this Alaskan mystery. It’s the first in a new continuity series for Love Inspired Suspense, so as usual there are two mysteries to solve: a shorter one in the story and a longer one to carry on through the series. Honestly, I enjoyed both mysteries equally and am sorry to have to wait for the solution of the second one.

At the beginning, the writing was a bit rough and it took me until about 30% to really bond with the characters. But I honestly had a hard time putting it down after that! If I could have grabbed book 2 that same night, I definitely would have.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free reading copy. A favorable review was not required.

"Alaskan Rescue" is a romantic suspense novel. It's a start of a new series that has an ongoing mystery to be solved as well as a mystery that was solved in this book. Since there were few suspects and the clues pointed strongly in one direction, the whodunit behind the later attacks on Ariel seemed pretty obvious to me (though not easily proven). I'd expected these attacks to mainly be a diversion from solving the initial attack, so I was surprised that no progress was made on that whodunit beyond the acceptance that the missing, accused person was guilty.

The suspense was created by repeated attacks on Ariel. The main characters were likable and reacted realistically to events. Both Ariel and Hunter had reasons to reject love and marriage, but these dissolved by the end of the story. Ariel was very independent but was willing to accept protection since it was needed. Hunter learned to trust and support her by the end. Hunter trusted God to keep him safe, and Ariel learned to trust God for his and her safety. Both briefly prayed for help throughout the story. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable romantic suspense.

Alaskan Rescue
Alaska K-9 Unit #1
By Terri Reed

It was supposed to be a fun pre-wedding excursion, an off-trail wilderness hike in the snowy wonder of Alaska. But it went horribly wrong and now someone seems determined to make sure that Ariel Potter doesn't live to find out what happened to her best friend and bride-to-be Violet James.

Hunter McCord and his K-9 partner Juneau discovered Ariel following the attack that left her mere inches from certain death. When Ariel claims that it was no accident that left her battered and bruised, Hunter and Juneau are assigned to be her protection. And it quickly becomes obvious that Ariel needs protection as she and her dogs are targeted.

Are the attacks related to what happened on the hike, Ariel's defense of her best friend, or something else entirely? Until they get the answer to that question answered it will be very difficult to keep her safe. But the greatest danger may be to her heart.

Alaskan Rescue is the first book in the Alaska K-9 Unit series and it, in true Love Inspired Suspense style, creates a story arc that will leave you in anticipation of book two. I know for a fact that I am eagerly awaiting the next book to see just where the series goes next. So if you love good, clean-reading suspense with a dose of romance and a whole passel of dogs you need to snatch this one up.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

Good book! Lots of twists and turns! This book was filled with suspense, intrigue, and plenty of action! It is a bit of a cliffhanger! Which I definitely do not like! Lol but the storyline is very good and kept me interested though the whole book! It can definitely be classified as a Christian book I'm pretty sure? There's A lot of that type of tone to the book. I definitely recommend reading it, it was worth reading and I guess ill have to read the rest to find out what happened lol thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

I enjoyed this book. The story was cute and I enjoyed having all the dogs around. The Alaskan setting was a pretty back drop. It wasn’t my favorite of the K-9 series or by the author though.
