I'm a big fan of Lynette Eason's books and was super excited for this newest one, especially as I've been hoping for a book for Caden ever since he first appeared in "Collateral Damage." Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed! This book kept me guessing from the very first page and I often found myself debating between racing to the finish or savoring as I read.
I always really enjoy Ms. Eason's writing style and how the mystery and suspense play out. It's seldom over the top, though I do tend to give her books more license for that, than I might a TV show. In this one, I loved the puzzles and questions, the hunt for answers and the CIA angle was intriguing! I will say as far as "over the top" goes, that I found the ending a little along those lines. I realize that people can do astounding things with enough adrenaline pumping, but part of the chase at the end just seemed a little much. Which is the only reason for the ½ star shortage.
I also really enjoyed the friends-to-more romance and how it was handled amidst a stressful story. I've loved getting to know Caden in the other books and was so happy to see him find his "happily ever after."
Overall, if you enjoy romantic suspense, I would greatly recommend this book and the others in the series as well!

*My thanks to the publisher for my copy of this book! I was not required to write a review, positive or otherwise, and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.

This series has been a bit rocky for me and after really not enjoying the last one I kind of decided I wasn’t going to read this one. But then my bestie read it and said it was amazing so I decided to give it a shot. And she was absolutely right! From the very first page I was completely hooked and couldn’t read fast enough! Eason struck the perfect balance between all the things! The villain was pure evil and had a backstory that showed how he became what he was but it wasn’t taken to too dark of a place. The action and suspense was steady throughout but not to the point of never catching your breath. There was enough revealed at the right time that you didn’t feel in the dark as a reader but there were also some pieces you just had to wait to figure out! And the romance wasn’t the insta-love you normally find in suspense since the characters had know each other since childhood. So yeah this book really hit the sweet spot in basically every aspect and I loved it!
Caden and Ava were both fabulous and the type of characters you could easily root for. I really appreciated how Ava was skilled and capable but wasn’t above letting people help her. She knew when she needed to do things and when she could let someone else do them. And on the flip side Caden trusted her to handle what she said she could but was always there to step in when needed. You don’t see that often in books and I loved it so much that it deserved a mention!
The only thing that wasn’t my favorite was the epilogue, it went down the cheesy route that is for some reason the norm in suspense and I could have done without it. But it didn’t damper my love for this book and I definitely recommend this one!

Awesome! What a riveting novel! I loved so many aspects of it from the intense mystery of trying to find the bad guy before he killed another innocent family to the Christian element (not preachy but present) and finally the romance! So good!
This is the fourth in the Danger Never Sleeps series by the author and although previous characters are mentioned, they are not crucial to the storyline and the book absolutely can be read as stand alone. There is reference to bloody scenes and torture so I’d not recommend for super squeamish people, but otherwise it fabulous and I highly recommend it! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I am freely writing a review - all thoughts and opinions are my own.

It took me a while to read past the first scene of the novel. I was afraid it was representative of the graphic violence that would be throughout the novel-- that, however, did not come to be. Once I pushed past the first scene, this was a really good romantic suspense. Ava and Caden were a great couple and I loved the juxtaposition of straight-shooter, honest, all-around hero Caden against the relationships Ava had experienced in her life that centered around deceit, half-truths, and hidden agendas. It is fiction, so artistic license taken with some of the professional aspects of the characters lives. Overall, it's a great romantic suspense. Heavy on the suspense, light on the inspirational thread, sweet on the romance.

Title: Hostile Intent
Author: Lynette Eason

Ch: 27

Pg: 320

Series: Danger Never Sleeps

Genre: Christian Romantic Suspense

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: Revell

Hostile Intent is the final book in the Danger Never Sleeps series and I was happy to see that Caden finally got his story. I was waiting for his story since pretty much the first book. As well as Ava. Who's dealing with the loss of her father and the pretty much impending death of her mom. While Ava doesn't have relationship plans in her future, Caden's trying to change that in the midst of a murder investigation. I do have to say that this one was the most predictable of the series. And I quickly figured out the suspect and what John was hiding. However, it was nice to see not only characters from this series show up in the book but characters from previous series again, it was nice to see Daria Nevsky from Vow of Justice in the Blue Justice series. I hope she gets her own book.

Even though this one was predicable I still enjoyed it and like how the series wrapped up. I look forward to future books from the author.

Adrenaline Rush!

I loved every book in this series! The characters are great, and the suspense page-turning. I would recommend reading this series in order because of the character connections throughout each book.

Lynette Eason is always a Must Read, and she is definitely one of the best when it comes to Christian suspense.

Hostile Intent is the fourth book in the Danger Never Sleeps series. While I have read the previous books in the series, I must admit that I have some issues with my memories and the details from those books are rather fuzzy...and I was still able to enjoy this story just fine! It definitely can be read just fine as a standalone too.

The action in this book picked up right at the start and didn't let up until the end. Despite that, I must admit that it took me a little bit to get into the story at first--- just trying to figure out who was who and how everything fit together. Now perhaps this might have been different had I actually remembered more from the previous stories too, but honestly, it seemed more to do with all the players in this particular story than anything...and there were several to keep track of and connect. Still, halfway through I was all in and could not put it down. The action was just the right pace to keep me intrigued and of course I enjoyed the romance between Ava and Caden too! I always know I'm in for a great read when I pick up a Lynette Eason book, and this was no exception. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, this is certainly one series and book to check out!

I really enjoyed reading the last book in the Danger Never Sleeps Series. Ava has had a hard life and she has already lost one parent and gets and early discharge from the military so that she can spend time with her mom before she is gone too. While visiting her mom, she is attacked and fortunately FBI agent Caden is nearby to help save her. They team up to find out what is going on and to try to stop the killer before he strikes next.

I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine

The best by far! Third book in the series is always the best in my opinion!
Fast action from beginning to end with awesome characters that sometimes makes you want to scream at them at the same time!
I love Eason' books because they're so exciting! Always keeping you on your toes so to speak.
I like this Bible verse " when I am afraid I will trust in you." In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust and will not be afraid."
I'm like wow! If a little kid like Nathan could trust so could we should be able to as adults but alas, it's not easy
I loved Ava and was very happy to see Zane! He's most definitely my favorite!
I love adventure and this one lived up to it's name!
Another favorite quote; "When you speak falsely because of an ignorance not of your making it is very different than having to tell a lie everyday of your life." Especially when you're a truthful person in general."
My thanks for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and I was NOT required to write a positive review.

Bestselling Christian fiction author Lynette Eason brings her Danger Never Sleeps tetralogy to an electrifying finale with “Hostile Intent.” As with the previous three books in this series, this one can be read as a standalone, although there is strong character overlap and therefore spoilers; having previously read only the first book so far myself, I still encourage everyone to read all of them for the pleasure of the plot intricacies and the obvious research that has gone into them. Even as someone who typically shies away from contemporary military stories, I could not put this book down, and it definitely increased my heart rate a time or two!

From the first page, “Hostile Intent” ratchets up the suspense and lays the foundation for an intense romantic thriller. A caveat is necessary for those who are profoundly disturbed by the murder of children, as well as violence and torture because they are integral to the plot, but Eason handles these sensitive issues with grace and leaves out graphic details. As such, while this may not be a light read, it does take on the all-too-real brutality and antagonism that fuels so many in modern society, offering some insight into how this type of behavior comes about and where it can lead when left unchecked: “Just two more families and his mission would be complete, his promise kept. His grandmother was wrong. Vengeance didn’t belong to God. It belonged to him. And it tasted sweet.” However, teaching someone to hate another person or group of people for any transgression, perceived or real, will never lead to a positive outcome for anyone.

Amidst this backdrop of reprisal, Ava Jackson, who recently left the Navy to care for her dying mother, finds herself somehow involved in a case of several murdered families, of which hers might be next. Working with FBI Special Agent Caden Denning to put the puzzle pieces together before time runs out, the duo uncover secrets that someone went to great lengths to conceal—and keep that way. Just as revenge can be a powerful motivator, so too the desire to protect the ones you love, even at the cost of personal sacrifice. After all, Jesus Himself showed us that sometimes the most unpleasant situations can lead to the most blessed destinations. As Caden remarks, “It’s funny how life can throw you a curve ball when you least expect it—or how God can change your perspective.”

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All opinions are my own.

“Hostile Intent” by Lynette Eason is fast moving and intense. Ava Jackson has left the Navy to be with her ailing mother after her father was declared deceased just months earlier. Circumstances bring Ava into close association with an old childhood friend, Caden Denning, who insists that Ava may have the missing pieces he needs to find a murderer. Caden, an FBI Special Agent, must work quickly with Ava to save lives, including her own. Twists and turns abound in this intriguing thriller.

Hostile Intent was intriguing and kept me on the seat of my pants. A thriller full of mystery and love. It was the right balance of focus on relationships and mystery.

FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book. These are my honest thoughts.

This book started off with the potential to become my new favorite Eason book. The action was fast-paced and came often, which made for a great suspense formula. The characters were intriguing, which added richness to the story being told. The settings were very well used, which increased the depth of the tale. Overall, this was a fantastic series finale, capping off one of the best series Mrs. Eason has produced to date.

A few things bugged me enough to drop a star. The predictability level was pretty high for me. I figured out all but two major plot points long before the reveals. I still enjoyed said plot points, but I would have had increased enjoyment had I been shocked or surprised by more than two of them. There were a couple of plot holes that didn’t mesh well for me. Since Ava had been trained on puzzles of all sorts throughout her childhood and was described as a computer genius who was able to hack a facial recognition software program at age fifteen, it was unrealistic that it would take her and a bunch of friends a couple of weeks to finish a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle. From my own experience, and I am not a genius by any stretch of the imagination, a 1,000 piece puzzle is doable in 1-2 days. I have no clue why it took Ava and company so long except that the timing had to be just so for the plot to work, which, of course, felt very contrived. As for the hacker skills, why did she give up on discovering a certain password after only two or three failed attempts? Why didn’t she put her skills to good use? She had time to do that if she had time to work on a puzzle. That whole thread did not work for me at all. Another thing that failed to impress me was that a certain somebody completely ignored the fact that he could have figured out one of his marks had children via birth, school, and military records, which wouldn’t have been difficult for him to discover since he was “meticulous” about research. It would have been super easy for him to have found out about the children, but that paper trail was completely omitted from the story.

All that being said, I definitely was riveted by this story. I kept flying through the chapters because they were written so well (other than the aforementioned holes). I especially enjoyed the scenes featuring a drone, a cane, and a yacht. The antagonist was truly creepy and evil. I was grateful he didn’t have me in his crosshairs! I liked that the torture he did was mostly off-screen and only hinted at. My imagination drew up enough images to creep me out. I certainly did not need on-screen graphic violence that would only serve to be crass and grant nightmares to the reader. The author definitely knew when and how to create the vibe without pushing past the limit.

The mirror scene reminded me of Jurassic Park. That was pretty epic.

Daria Nevsky was back! Oh, how she was highlighted! I can hardly wait for the novella Ryker and she will be getting, according to Lynette Eason’s latest newsletter. I cannot tell you how stoked I am for that. She’s one of my favorite Eason characters of all time, as is Ryker, and I am super excited that they’re pairing up.

Trigger: suicide

Content: suicide, replacement expletives, alcohol, unwed pregnancy mentioned

This exciting novel keeps your attention riveted until the dramatic conclusion. It begins with Ava Jackson’s attack and escalates from there. Why are families being murdered and what connects them? Even more, how could these horrible crimes be connected to Ava and why would she be in danger? She teams up with FBI Special Agent Caden Denning to help solve this string of devastating crimes. The race to stop the murderer offers an electrifying read. Don’t miss this intriguing thriller. I received a copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own. #HostileIntent #NetGalley

I have been anxiously awaking the conclusion to this series and especially this story. As I have read through this fantastic series, I have loved learning more about Caden so I couldn’t wait to read his story. This book focuses on Caden and Ava. Without telling specifics in this story, I was really surprised by the storyline. I didn’t see the back story being what it was. However, I will say that readers must read this story to reach the stunning conclusion! The author does a fantastic job of weaving the details (which are quite specific) throughout this entire book. This is romantic suspense writing at its best. Readers will be surprised at several turns in this book. I would say that this is a must-read for Christian romantic suspense books. I highly recommend this book and know you will not be disappointed!
***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.

Hostile Intent is the 4th book in the Danger Never Sleeps series and concludes the series telling the re-adjustment stories of four female veterans who just returned from serving in Afghanistan. Ava Jackson has a stalker and FBI Special Agent Caden Denning is assigned to investigate after she is attacked in a parking lot. This incident is just the beginning of a much more complex story that involves Ava's father, former Russian KGB agents, multiple murders, and secrets. This is my favorite book of the series as Harris has created an exciting suspense novel.

Decades old secrets just got even more dangerous...

Oh, boy! I think Lynette Eason may have saved the best for last... As much as I liked the first Danger Never Sleeps novel, Hostile Intent may just be my new favorite in the series. This book had everything you could wish for in a romantic-suspense-almost-a-thriller novel. Danger, intrigue, betrayal, romance, spies, double agents, decades old secrets that span continents, and a nail-biting showdown with a psychopathic killer! Have I piqued your interest yet?

I started Hostile Intent looking forward to the read ahead of me. I've not always been able to totally get into Lynette Eason's books but have had no such problem with her Danger Never Sleeps series, and several others I might add. However, I had no idea when I started Hostile Intent that I would get so engrossed and so invested so fast. Lynette Eason grabbed me right from the start and I really couldn't put the book down until I knew every secret and everything.

This is the Danger Never Sleeps book that I've been looking forward to the most. Both Caden and Ava intrigued me from the start of the series. Both of them seemed to have secrets and hidden depths that begged to be uncovered. But, not even I had any clue just how good those secrets and depths would turn out to be.

Read the Danger Never Sleeps series in order, but, DO read it! If you enjoy edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense this series, and in particular Hostile Intent, from Lynette Eason is the one for you...

My thoughts: wow! This is a book by Lynette Eason that I was unable to put down. I loved the heroine and I love the hero and I love the entire concept of the story. Imagine being a truthful person and living a lie. I really felt for the main characters, they had my sympathy, and I really wanted to father to be found alive. I was glued to the pages of the book waiting to find out who done it and why. I never guessed until it was revealed. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. If you like romantic suspense you are absolutely love this book or any other book by Lynette Easton. She is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors with good reason. I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

I finally had the chance to read this final book in the Danger Never Sleeps series.
What a story! Full of action and mystery, just as all of Lynette Eason's novels are, and she remains a favorite suspense author of mine.
This is Ava's story, and I found it quite intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed reading more about her and getting to know more about her life and her family.
One thing that makes this book different than a lot of other suspense novels is that the villain is revealed to us early on. We know WHO dunit, just don't know WHY. And we are left with lots of questions, as well as the knowledge that our beloved main characters are in a whole lot more danger than they realize.
As Caden and Ava work to solve the mystery behind three terrible killing sprees, obviously the work of a serial killer, there is lots of action and adventure going on. I liked seeing them work together, and watch the progression of their relationship.
If you enjoy suspense, you won't want to miss this one! And...even though it is the fourth book in a series, I feel like it could be read as a stand-=alone novel, too.

I have always enjoyed books by Lynette Eason from the very first one I read in the Love Inspired collection. It has been fun reading every one of them and watching as the author’s skills improved book by book, nor that the first ones were at all inferior. Recommendations to friends have brought more fans to the fold. Because my maternal grandmother was born an Eason, I feel just a bit of kinship with this author even if we are most likely not related.

I know I probably say that each book is her best one yet, Hostile Intent was definitely one of my very top favorites. I loved Ava, the strong heroine who has resigned herself to a life alone due to the family secrets she guarded. Caden was the perfect hero, with a determined strength and protective nature yet sensitive enough to allow Ava leeway to take care of business.

The plot moved along at a speedy clip with one intense scenario after another. Danger and suspense lurked with each turn of the page and several surprises were in store for Ava and readers of this exciting tale. This suspenseful novel is a perfect end for an excellent series. It can easily stand on its own merits but why not read the previous books and find out what happened in the lives of Ava’s best friends.
