Hostile Intent by Lynette Eason is a thrilling contemporary crime suspense. It is the fourth book in the Danger Never Sleeps series but can be read as a stand-alone. I have loved the whole series. It has been utterly brilliant.

There is an air of tension and suspense that wafts over the whole novel that made my heart race. Actions have consequences and it seems like someone is out for revenge. A life-times events are coming to a head. The reader 'hears' the killer's voice and we know his name from the start. But we do not know why or why now?

Secrets have been kept over the years. As they trickle out, a character wonders if recent past events are quite as they seem.

A close bond has formed over the years between a father and his daughter. They love puzzles and are always on the same wavelength.

A lifetime of hiding the truth has prevented a character from truly trusting anyone enough to let them into her life. It is so tiring having to lie on a regular basis in order to keep everyone safe. Is it now time to let the barriers come down and let others in?

Lynette Eason has once again constructed a cleverly thought-out thriller. She entertains, keeping the reader on high alert throughout. Her stories are always top notch.

Danger Never Sleeps has been a fantastic read that would translate perfectly into a Netflix series – any producers out there please take note.

Families begin to disappear across the US - lined up on their sofa, shot one-by-one. FBI Special Agent Caden Denning and his group of talented friends (FBI Agents, Private Investigators, retired Navy personnel, and the CIA) will be tasked with finding those responsible for the deaths.

It is a story that has its roots in events that occurred 17+ years earlier in Russia prior to implosion and the dismantling of the KGB. Today it was affecting the lives of men and women that Special Agent Denning knew and loved. It was not only a matter of National Security; it was also personal.

Though written as a faith-based story, Faith plays a less significant role than the characters and plot in making this a worthwhile story. The story is intense and could not be put down even for TV and dinner. This reader wanted to know what would come next. And for that reason, the book receives four-stars.

Ava Jackson entered the military shortly after high school, but her mother's illness has forced her to request an early discharge. She already lost her father while deployed, and there's no way she's going to let her mother die alone. But after a visit to the nursing facility where her mother lives, Ava is attacked walking back to her car. Fortunately, FBI Special Agent Caden Denning arrives in time to help fight off her attacker.

Caden reveals to Ava that she may hold the key to the murders of three families, and he needs her help before anyone else is harmed. The hits show a pattern, and clearly the killer has an agenda. But if Caden and Ava can't discover what it is, Ava may be next on the hit list.

Another great book by Lynette Eason. I was hooked on the first page. Ava's dad has been declared dead so she takes an early discharge to take care of her mother. Caden stops an attack on Ava. This is an edge of your seat book all the way. There's some twists and turns along the way that will keep you guessing till the end.

This is book 4 in the Danger Never Sleeps series. It's not necessary to read the first 3 to read this book.

I was given this book by NetGalley via Revell Publishing for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

This final book in the Danger Never Sleeps series is high drama from start to finish. Ava has left the military to look after her mom who is in the last stages of dementia. Her childhood friend, Caden, is providing support for her as he also juggles his FBI assignments. Ava is also dealing with the death of her father whose secret job she has kept from everyone since she was 15. When she is attacked leaving the care facility and Caden comes to her rescue, it seems that her father's secrets, her knowledge, and the death of every member of 3 families who may have known her father all lead to her joining Caden to try and discover the connection and stop the killer.

Awesome suspense, a wonderful faith thread, and a growing romance all make for a 5 star read that made for a "couldn't put it down" conclusions to Danger Never Sleeps.

“Man, she was . . . cute. Fierce and feisty. And very, very capable. His admiration for her had been high to begin with. Now it was off the charts. But that didn’t mean he was leaving.”

A serial killer has her in his sites and her secrets could get her killed. Action- packed and full of intrigue, Lynette Eason wrote a book that kept me on the edge of my seat. This book is part of the Danger Never Sleeps series, but could be read as a standalone. I have enjoyed this entire series of military friends finding a new life after getting out. However, this book really was my favorite. It had everything I love, from mystery to international intrigue, and of course a riveting romance.

“The sight of her holding the gun completely discombobulated him. It was so . . . un-Ava-like.”

We finally get to see Caden meet his match in Ava, and wow, is she amazing! I love how confident she is, and her skills and reasoning really showed a side of her I didn’t expect. She is such a mystery and it was fun watching her secrets unfold. Caden knew her well enough to help her and work alongside her. Plus, he is a strong male lead I just adored.

“it’s not that I don’t think you can take care of yourself. It’s the fact that we all need someone to have our back sometimes.”’

This was a great read! If you love authors like Ronie Kendig, Susan May Warren, and Joel Rosenberg, I think you’ll love “Hostile Intent.” The action, intrigue, and romance just don’t stop.

I was given an advanced copy by the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own and are given honestly.

If you like action, mystery, exciting scenes, and clean romance, Hostile Intent is the book for you. Ava doesn't know who to trust in her life. Her father is dead. Is there some connection to the murdered families? Follow the clues along with the FBI team as they track the killer. Can they keep Ava safe while they hunt him down, especially since Ava isn't content to sit back and wait, but wants to be involved? I would definitely recommend this book to family and friends and hope to read more by Lynette Eason.

I received a copy through NetGalley and am sharing my opinion of this enthralling book.

Lynette Eason's Danger Never Sleeps series is just great and Hostile Intent just adds another nail biting suspense filled book to the list. Ava Jackson has left the Navy and is now taking care of her ailing mother while she tries to find what to do with the rest of her life. FBI Special Agent Caden Denning grew up knowing Ava as she was his sisters best friend. Caden's latest case of what seems to be a serial killer puts Ava at the center of it and the suspense just keeps growing. The romance is pretty minimal so I'm not really sure I would call it a romantic suspense but it was there.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC for an honest review.

Quite a suspenseful book, this one!

Ava has just left the military and is wondering what she will do next. Caden is a man who works for the FBI and who tries to protect Ava, both emotionally and physically. These two dance around each other when it comes to any romance but I do love the bond that they have.

Poor Ava is attacked and the only thing she knows is that it has something to do with her recently deceased father. What a twisty-turny story this is though, as Ava tries to get to the bottom of the mystery.

A good, solid story from this author.

4.5 stars from me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Revell.

This book was everything I wanted in a suspense read! Hostile Intent was I intriguing and suspense and kept me turning the pages. I enjoyed Ava and Caden characters a lot! I love that this author wrote a smart and capable heroine that was also willing to lean on others when necessary. It’s a hard balance, but was done exceptionally well. There wasn’t a ton of romance, but that was perfectly in keeping with the characters and their background. Their friendship was building a foundation and that was relatable and authentic. There was a perfect balance of action, danger, and twists to really hook the reader and it all lead to a really suspense filled conclusion! This book was just fantastic! Loved it!

Three separate families have been murdered in different states, but all were killed in the same manner. FBI Special Agent Caden Denning is called to the scene of the most recent murder, but at this scene the teenage son was not home and is missing. Ava Jackson, who is a friend of Caden’s sister Sarah, has left the Navy after ten years to care for her mother who has dementia. When she is attacked outside her mother’s nursing home, Caden is able to thwart the attacker. Caden needs Ava’s help as the murders appear to be connected to her late father who was a CIA operative. Ava has never been involved with a man, but Caden makes her feel that maybe love and family are possible. Someone is settling old scores, but what is the connection between the murdered families? As another family is killed, Ava is determined to find out the truth about her father’s past and stop the killer before anymore innocent lives are lost. A thrilling addition and ending to this amazing series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

This is a book that you will not want to put down once you pick it up. FBI Special Agent Caden Denning is trying to find the murderer and the connection between the three families, who have been executed. When a picture of family friend Ava Jackson and her father is found in one of the homes, Caden realizes that Ava is in danger. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a very suspenseful and at times intense romantic suspense novel. I love how when Ava is in danger, she doesn't wait for rescue. Due to her training, Ava has skills of her own. Both Ava and Caden do a terrific job unraveling this mystery. This book had me at the edge of my seat at times. Since Ava is wary of dating, I like how Caden subtly woos Ava. Even though there is a slow romance, the mystery and the suspense is at the heart of this book. This book is part of a terrific series, but can also be enjoyed as a standalone.

Another wonderful addition to Eason's Danger Never Sleeps series! Her books are always action packed with just a tough of romance, and Hostile Intent is no different. Ava Jackson has kept her father's secrets since she was fifteen. Now those secrets may have to be revealed as someone is killing families, and it appears her father is the link between them all. FBI Special Agent Caden Denning has had eyes for Ava since they were teens, never realizing she had a crush on him way back then as well. Now he hopes to develop a meaningful relationship with her, if he can keep her alive long enough to make that a reality. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, you will love Hostile Intent along with Lynette Eason's other books.

I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of the book from Revell via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Her characters are well developed and the thread of faith runs throughout the book! Hostile Intent has a fast-moving plot with a plausible storyline. I cared about Ava and Caden and all of their friends.

Hostile Intent was a one-sitting read for me. I have loved the entire series and this final installment did not disappoint. If you enjoy a clean thriller/suspense with fast pacing, romance, intrigue, and non-stop action, I’d recommend not only this title (easily read as a standalone) but Eason’s entire Danger Never Sleeps series. It falls under the Christian suspense category and delivers some dark subject matter and all the gripping elements you expect in a fast-paced thriller.

I received a complimentary copy of this title via NetGalley. Opinions are entirely my own. My thanks to the publisher, Revell Books, for the Advanced Readers Copy.

This was a One Day Read. I was up until of course the wee hours to finish. Couldn't put this fast paced suspense down. The 2 main characters were dragged and fatigued and sleep deprived as they raced to stop a killer. Just like previous novels, I was totally engrossed!! Terrific ending. 5 star!

Another fantastic installment in the Danger Never Sleeps series! Lynette Eason has done it again with Hostile Intent; her writing puts her on a whole new level with this series. No better time for readers to discover one of the very best in romantic suspense!

After entering the Navy shortly after high school, Ava Jackson has spent several years honing her skills, but finds herself having to take an early discharge when her mother falls ill and needs her. Her father is gone after disappearing while deployed. Ava spends as much time as she can at the care facility with her mother, refusing to let her die alone. One night after a visit, Ava is attacked in the parking lot. Her friend and FBI agent, Caden Denning, shows up just in time to fight of her attacker and save Ava. After a little research, they discover that Ava is tied up without her knowledge in the murders of three families. This killer has a plan with Ava is at the center of it and nothing is as it seems.

Just when you think Lynette Eason can’t get any better, she comes along with a new book that blows the others away. Hostile Intent is her newest and best yet. I loved Ava and her relationship with Caden, they made the perfect couple for a great romantic suspense read. I was recently asked what point in a book gets me; the answer was the moment my heart rate goes up a few notches. That happened at several moments throughout this book. I will say I figured out one of the twists before it was revealed, but not in a way that made the book any less enjoyable, it played out in a really great way. The last third of the book was on fire, I couldn’t put it down until I knew what was going to happen to the characters I was so invested in.

Honestly, I have nothing negative to say about this book. I was taken in by the characters and the trouble they faced and felt a deep connection to them as they battled the odds to come out in the end having survived all they faced. What makes a great romantic suspense for me is the connection, if I can connect with the characters, I care more about the story than the other way around. This series found a way to connect me with each of the individual characters in the troubles they faced and want to find out more about them and what they were going through. I recommend this book to fans of Eason and lovers of romantic suspense. Even though this is the fourth in a series It could be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.

Lynette Eason never fails to deliver. Hostile Intent is just another example of her delivering suspense while reminding us that God is always with us protecting us and those we care about. I always look forward to reading her books.

Hostile Intent by Lynette Eason brings the action and suspense. Book four of the Danger Never Sleep Series focuses on Ava Jackson’s story. She’s dealing with her father’s death and her mother’s failing health. But things take a turn when someone tries to kidnap her. FBI Special Agent Caden Denning’s case intersects with Ava’s attack when her father’s job is linked to a series of murders. Ava (literally) has to put together the pieces to figure out the details of her father’s super-secret life.

This is one of my favorite series, but book four has to be the most intense and action-packed of them all. I love stories about strong woman, and Ava knows how to defend herself. She isn’t a damsel in distress, but Caden has a knack for showing up at the exact right time. The two make a great team. But the action takes center stage in this book. Lots of life-or-death situations mix with an intriguing plotline to create this non-stop thrill ride.

You don’t have to read the books in this series in order, but I recommend it. The entire series is fantastic, with action, suspense, and a bit of romance.

The only downside is that I didn’t want the book to end. Here’s to hoping for a Hostile Intent sequel or spin off series.

Overall Rating:
5 stars (I loved it, couldn’t put it down)

Suspense Rating:
5 stars (Non-stop edge-of-your-seat suspense from start to finish)

This one is hard to put down! Hostile Intent by Lynette Eason is fast-paced from beginning to end!

Ava Jackson’s father has died, and she has left the Navy to care for her ailing mother. FBI Special Agent Caden Denning, a longtime family friend, is investigating a murder of an entire family in Greenville, SC. The investigation connects to similar crimes in other parts of the country, and also has a connection to Ava’s father, which puts Ava in danger.

Hostile Intent is the 4th book in the Danger Never Sleeps series. This book stands alone (I have not read the others), but there are connections and updates to other characters in the series.

This book is fast paced, full of mystery, revenge, CIA connections, and lots of twists and turns. At the same time, there is a strong thread of faith and friendship throughout, which helps to bring some balance. All in all, a very good read.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and Net Galley in exchange for my opinion.

Always on the move, following leads or chasing a murderer. Ava and Caden have been friends for years, along with three other couples the series has followed. Caden is put on a case that he believes Ava can help with, considering the evidence. I never felt the story slow down as they went after more and more puzzle pieces. Eason has an exciting way of delivering the twists and developing characters with heart. The entire series is a great read, can be read independent of the others, and will keep you on your toes. I’ve received an early copy and wrote my review voluntarily.
