This is the second book in the trilogy and I love that they follow the story from the first book. I can't wait to read the conclusion in the third book. Lisa Harris is a great author and I enjoy the suspense she creates! Thanks to Revell and Netgalley for the ARC. I will be recommending this book.

The Chase is the second of the US Marshals series set in Seattle and is another edge of the seat page turner. In the first book, US Marshal Madison James and US Marshal Jonas Quinn became partners and had a wild time with an escaped convict in the western US after a plane crash. There was a little bit of a cliffhanger in the last story but it picks back up in this one. Now, they are sent to investigate a string of bank robberies around Seattle after a fingerprint hit came back of a suspect they are looking for on another case. They find that they are looking for a team of four people and have followed them to Pikes Market where the fugitives split up into two groups of two. These people are one step ahead with well laid plans and back up plans. But Madison and Jonas are determined to find them as well as is their boss and others, especially since innocent people have been killed. Madison and Jonas work well together and both have some emotional baggage to work through but there is also a hint that there could be more. Once more, Lisa Harris has written a story that is engaging and full of action to the end and yet has secondary stories of the characters to give them a well rounded, normal and realistic life. Looking forward to the next one in the series.
I received a complimentary ARC from Revell Publishing and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

Thrill Ride!

Loved the first book in this series, and this story definitely keeps the excitement going. Follow Madison and Jonas on a chase where the fugitives always seem to be one step ahead.

I love that the main storyline continues to include Madison's search for her husband's killer. I can't wait for the conclusion in the third and final book in this series!

The Escape, the second in the US Marshall has Marshalls Madison and Jonas hot on the trail of bank robbers. Madison's first day back on the job after being shot will prove demanding. I love the author's attention to the technology and knowledge used by law enforcement in solving crimes. This positive portrayal of law enforcement is needed in today's society. Both Madison and Jonas are both realistic and likeable characters. The teaser at the conclusion will make it hard to wait for the next book. Recommended!

Madison is thrown into a a bank robbery case with Jonas on her first day back after being shot, and things are soon anything but boring. High octane energy permeates this story as they chase down the thieves who stay one step ahead right to the end.
I love how the mystery of Madison’s husband Luke’s death is woven into both “The Chase” and the previous book, “The Escape” along with a new case in each one.
Madison can’t let go of Luke’s case until it’s solved. Conflicted between holding onto fear or taking a chance at something new, will she allow faith to move her away from the past into the future?
I don’t usually read books where everything isn’t completely resolved at the end, but in this series I’m all in. This was a great book with a good balance of romance and suspense.
I received a copy of this book courtesy of Revell a division of Baker Publishing Group through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

The second book in the series and boy what a read! US Marshall Madison James has just recovered from a gunshot wound she received when someone broke into her home and tried to kill her, the same person who killed her husband a few years ago. I couldn’t put this book down!

I did not read the first book in this series but I was captivated by this book from the beginning. The friendship between Madison and Jonas was so sweet and I really enjoyed how well they worked together. The mystery behind the events of the book had me turning the pages as fast as I could. I can not wait to read the next book to see how it all comes together.

Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

Lisa Harris has written another fantastic romantic suspense. The plot of The Chase is a real edge of your seat page turner. I couldn’t put this book down. Suspense fans will not be disappointed. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.

This is the second book in this series that I have read and enjoyed, but we are still left with unanswered questions, and thankfully there is another book coming!

As this book opens and we begin our journey, US Marshall Madison James, is finally going back to work, she had been shot 3 months ago, by an unknown assailant! Her partner and also a US Marshall Jonas Quinn has been visiting and forming and stronger alliance with Madison, but is she ready to move on after the murder of her husband Luke?

With this new book, we are literally off on a "Chase" and this one takes them off running, and we see how the past does meet the present. With the suspects splitting up, will they be able to get away, or will justice be survived?

This is one fast paced read, with never a dull movement, and I would be happy to start the new book right now!

I received this book through Net Galley and Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. The main story was engaging and somewhat suspenseful. But what I really liked was the small, tense moments that were resolved within a couple of pages. Those events added to the bigger picture and made you want to keep reading.

The story was clean and the romance decent. Overall, I really liked the book. Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC for an honest review.

“The Chase” by Lisa Harris was a non-stop read! This book was one that will keep you guessing from the beginning to the end! This is the second book in the U.S. Marshall series.

This book continues with Madison and Jonas, two US Marshalls that were in the first book. There is a federal warrant for a man involved in a bank robbery. These bank robberies are a little mysterious and it is a chase trying to find the culprits.

If you enjoy good, clean, suspenseful novels, you would love this book. I highly recommend it!

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.

Book 2 in US Marshal series. Madison James and Jonas Quinn whom we met in The Escape are chasing 4 bank robbers. Madison is not totally healed from being shot a few months before or her husband’s unsolved murder, but wants to get back to work. Jonas and Madison are both wonderful characters and I loved how their relationship is evolving. Read book #1 first for valuable background. Can we please have book 3 now? Thanks to NetGalley, Revell and the Author for the privilege of reading and reviewing this book.

'Her goal was to eliminate the threat and make sure they didn't open themselves to an attack.'

I'd never read anything by Lisa Harris until I read her 2020 novel, The Escape, which was the first in her US Marshals series. It was great and I started looking forward to the next book in the series. And let me tell you, my wait was more than well worth it. I was absolutely captivated by this story. The Chase is quite aptly titled, too, by the way. The two main protagonists are in a highly intenseful chase for fugitives who always seem to be one step ahead of them. Jonas Quinn and Madison James are partners in the US Marshals service and are incredibly good at their jobs. This time they are up against some bad guys who have every contingency all planned out, though, so they must find a way to up their game in order to capture these folks and stop the madness. I was so intrigued all the way by not only the writer's skill at creating such a great story, but at how these two law enforcement officers went about their jobs, deciphering clues and chasing off on the next lead. It was so interesting!

'She was the one who went after the criminals. Not the other way around.'

At the same time that Jonas and Madison are chasing after these fugitives, Madison still hasn't solved a cold case from five years ago and one other devastating event. There is a spiritual thread here, a good, one, a smatter of romance, but the suspense is the king of this show! Hands down. It is high-octane suspense throughout! I could not stop reading, and I had chores to do. I couldn't wait to get back to the book when life interrupted. And there is another book in the series!

Harris has created two main characters that nearly leap off the pages and who fit their roles so well that it's like watching a good crime drama. Goodness, it's even way better than a tv show! Honestly, this one is for the keeper shelf and to get read again. Well done!

My thanks to Revell Books for a copy of this book via Net Galley. I was not expected to leave a positive review. The opinion here is expressly my own.

"He also reminded me that God is okay with us struggling for answers. And in the end, he simply wants us to trust him through the journey, even when it doesn't make sense.

The Chase, the second book in the US Marshals series by Lisa Harris, contains some unpredictable elements that will help the reader ponder life and faith from new angles. In fact, one particular section I did not see coming at all. From the first pages, there was non-stop action. I would classify this title as a borderline thriller/suspense book. While there was a bit of romance, that was definitely not the prevalent theme.

Like the first book in the series, this book took place over a short period of time. Since fictional time passed between the two books, I think it worked. Once people experience such dramatic events, the situations would definitely bond them in an intense way. While you could read this book as a stand-alone, I would highly recommend reading book one (The Escape) first. I think this book was a great middle one in the series. But now I can't wait to read book # 3 because there are several unresolved situations.

While this book does directly correspond with a robbery, there were many layers that involved family, friends, relationships, closure and even fresh starts. Jonas and Madison definitely have a connection as partners. Will they connect in other ways? Read the book to find out.

Lisa Harris is definitely a must-read author for me. Thank you to Revell Publishing for letting me read this book early through NetGalley. I greatly enjoyed the book. All opinions are my own.

5 hours. Thats how long it took me to finish this book. Once I sat down with it, I could not put it down. The author did such a great job keeping you turning the pages.

I love Madison and Jonas. I do wish that we didn't have to wait until the next book to see how their story fully unfolds. We get little glimpse here and there that they are falling for each other, but I am ready to see them together.

The Chase keeps you turning the page as Madison and Jonas chase 4 bored bank robbing fugitives around Seattle. There are twists, turns and unexpected connections. While I did find the island part of the book a little disjointed from the rest, it was a full of suspense.

I cannot wait until the next book to find out what happened to Madison's husband along with the person who continues to antagonize her and had shot her.

I highly recommend this book.

Harris' next US Marshall installment is just as adventurous as the first. Madison has just finished her recovery from the gunshot wound she can't remember who shot her twelve weeks ago. Her first day back on the job as a US Marshall is nothing but nonstop suspense as she and Jonas her partner (and maybe more, if she can move on from the grief of loosing her husband) chase after 4 bank robbers. I would recommend anyone to read the first book in the series before reading this one as it will add so much more to this installment. I would also not necessarily call this a romantic suspense as there really is no romance as both characters are still trying of figure out where their hearts/minds are in this book.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this eARC in return for an honest review.

The Chase by Lisa Harris is just like the title suggests. A chase. A chase to find the bank robbers. Through the city. Through hotels. Through back alleys. The plot definitely moves every second. While readers may think they know how the story ends, Harris throws another wrench in the plans and have the heroine and hero on the chase again. The plot was well-written and wonderful for fans who enjoy tons of action in their storylines. On the other hand, the romance is hinted at and even flirted with, but nothing comes out of the budding emotions currently. (There is a third book coming!) I actually enjoy this element of the novel. Too many suspense or contemporary romance, for that part, the romance occurs way too quickly. Then the rest of the story centers around the romance and the suspense takes a back seat. When I read a suspense novel, I want the suspense, not the romance. It can be there, but I do not want it to be the main story thread. On a different note, Harris' writing is excellent. Readers will feel the chase and the frustration of not catching them again and again. Overall, The Chase by Lisa Harris is a fast-paced, little romance story that is right up my alley. I believe fans of suspense will enjoy this novel. I sure did.

I received a complimentary copy of The Chase by Lisa Harris from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.

An intense story which drew me in to fee and follow the characters. Awesome reminders of personal choices that need to be made to live in and through grief.

It's a suspenseful novel about the chase after 4 bank robbers that leaves some questions unanswered (and perhaps answered in one of the next books of this new series). The main characters are believable and the action not too unbelievable.

This book had my heart pounding from the beginning and right up until the ending. I didn't want to put it down, and yet didn't want it to end.
These characters felt so real and I wish I could know them in real life.
Lisa Harris has a knack for drawing me in, and making me completely forget where I am while I'm reading one of her books.
I highly recommend this book to anyone.
