This is a perfect book for kids who can't stay still. How to make them stay still while reading this, I can't say. But for sure, I read so much ideas on how to manage those urges to jump and roll in a good way. And beautifully illustrated, am gonna give it a go for those who know such kids.

Although i felt this book was a lot longer than what an ece student could handle i did enjoy it and could find ways to incorporate it into my classroom and curriculum.

Children are filled with energy and may not always have the tools to be able to deal with the overflow of this energy. Gonna Move, Gotta Bounce, Have to Jumpity Jump gives children physical ways to deal with energy. Stokes uses bright colors and simple movements to burn through anxious nerves, energy and disruptive behavior. Many of the exercises are simple, easy and can be done with the family. Stokes did a great job on making the book interactive and fun for children. Although, some of the explanations may be difficult to replicate without looking at the page and may need assistance from an adult. This only pushes for partnerships between parent and child. Allowing for both to participate in physical activity. The illustrations are bright, colorful and clean but some of the text and illustrations can be jumbled together and be a little too much for a picture book.

Rhyming text and vibrant illustrations describe the feelings and actions of a child with the constant wiggles, noting the unintended consequences of his hyperactivity. This segues into examples of specific exercises the child can do to calm himself. This would be a fun read aloud to primary students as well as a useful tool for parents, teachers, caregivers to teach kids how to take command of their bodies, empowering them to deal constructively with their need to constantly move.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.

This will be a great classroom read aloud for pretty much any elementary grade, but especially for one with students that just don't stop moving. It will help them understand themselves better, but will also help to open up a discussion on how that child's movements can affect other children and their learning.

This is a cute book full of rhymes and movements that children can try to rid themselves of jittery energy. The movements all have cute descriptions and show the children how to do each item. Kids will love this one!

This is a great book that is aimed at children who tend to be a bit hyperactive and gives them some ideas on what they can be doing instead of doing things that may end up getting them into trouble.
Book was a little long winded so not sure if a hyper child would actually sit and listen to it all the way through, but either way it is a good book, with fab little illustrations too.

Gonna Move, Gotta Bounce, Have to Jumpity Jump! is an awesome book with tips and helpful advice to help children who tend to be hyperactive. I enjoyed the pictures that describe movements a child can do when they feel wiggly and can't help it. The movement tips are easy for the child to learn and for the child to do. There's an Author's Note in the back of the book that clarifies that not all of helps talked about in the book will help every child. The Author encourages the reader to find out what works the best for your child. This book would be perfect for anyone that works with children and for children that have hyperactive tendencies. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. I believe it will help many families. (This review is also on GoodReads.)

Intended for kids who move a lot or often have the wiggles, this book was long and dry. Not sure if it would keep the attention of its targeted audience.

This is a children's book. I like that this book has a lot about different ways kids can move, but I felt the writing style of the book was hard for some kids to understand. The pictures was very cute. I do not think this book pulled my kids into it. Overall, I found this book just ok. I receive an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Thank you so much Jamaree Stokes for writing this book. What first attracted me to it was the cover – I am always looking into buying books with more representation as we strive to make our children feel included. I was also attracted by the title as music and movement is always very popular in our classrooms.

Once I started reading it, I was automatically reminded of my neurodiverse son and students. I love how inclusive and normalizing this book is – It acknowledges the need some bodies need to move, and it offers ways they can do it! This book should be part of every classroom and part of sensitivity training for teachers!

I read this book out loud and I have to say, the rhymes are up beating and mood lifting! This will be a hit in our music and movement days! Can May be here already?

Thank you Jamaree Stokes, Girl Friday Productions and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of “Gonna Move, Gotta Bounce, Have to Jumpity Jump!” in exchange for an honest review.
