Until Vienna
by Heather B. Moore

A reasonably well written short story . A historical romance about Gigi and her Aunt Rowena on an art tour on the Orient Express. Gigi is a very independent talented woman verging on spinsterhood and her mother sends her on and art tour trip to Vienna in the hopes she will finally find a beau!

A reasonably well paced read with many humorous moments that will make you smile if not outright laugh. I do feel everyone should have a matchmaking aunt in their life. An easy enjoyable adventure romantic read based on the orient express what is not to like.

This amazing adventure on the Orient Express has wonderful characters. Aunt Rowena is a hilarious, meddling matchmaker. Professor Haskins is knowledgeable, kind and honest. Gigi is a talented, sweet young woman that underestimates herself. The authors descriptions made me feel as though I was on the famed Orient Express and visiting the artistic wonders in Europe including Paris and Vienna.

The words Orient Express conjure up all kinds of imagery when spoken. Mystery, intrigue, adventure, and romance to name a few. “Until Vienna” is book 3 of the Romance on the Orient Express series and includes all those aspects and more. Georgina “Gigi” Ballard is on the verge of becoming a spinster. She has had many beaus, but none stay around long enough when they realize how independent and outspoken Gigi is. She is a skilled clothing designer and seamstress and has no desire to give up her job much to the chagrin of her beaus and her mother. She is given the chance to explore Europe aboard the Orient Express when her Aunt Rowina asks her to be her traveling companion. The “Twilight Tour” is not exactly the adventure that Gigi was hoping for- an art tour with people in their golden years. However, the tour guide is decidedly not aged and may be the distraction that Gigi needs on this trip. Nicholas, art professor, and tour guide is not looking for a relationship. Having been left by his fiancée, his bachelor status suits him just fine. But then, on this particular tour he encounters Gigi, who will turn what he thinks he wants upside down. Friendship is what they both are looking for, but what happens if it turns into something more? What happens to friendship and family when secrets are revealed that could change everything? When disaster strikes, will Gigi and Nicholas be able to move beyond it to continue their relationship? “Until Vienna” is a charming, romantic short story with amazing historical detail and relatable, lovable characters. I look forward to reading the next book in the series! My thanks to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for the ARC of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

"Until Vienna" by Heather B Moore incorporates two of my favourite things .....travel and historical fiction. The humour throughout made me smile many times.....such familiar characters in Blance and Irene and everyone has an Auntie Rowena! Plotting to hook her niece Georgina Ballard up with the leader of art tour across Europe. Georgina had been disappointed in love so many times before....will Aunt Rowena's medling and list making help or hinder?
Our tour leader Professor Clyde Haskins is enchanted with this young woman who has joined the tour.....participants are usually an aging demographic.
Quite a quick read, I was enthralled very early on and was cheering for Gigi and Clyde.
A sweet old fashioned romance, set amongst a background of exotic travel, family relationships and dynamics, with odd twist and turn along the way.
Thanks to Heather B Moore, NetGalley and Covenant Communication for the copy of the book to read and review.

“You are a fine woman, my dear. Be proud of your accomplishments and the way you’ve lived your life. Don’t let another person’s decisions or preferences determine your own worth.”

Until Vienna is a historical romance novel written by Heather B. Moore.

Summary: Georgina Ballard is satisfied with her somewhat mundane life. She enjoys her work at a local dress shop, and loves her close-knit family.

But when her aunt Rowena insists Georgina accompany her on a luxurious train trip across Europe, she is less than enthused. She can’t exactly say no-after all, her family has had to rely on Aunt Rowena’s charity ever since Georgina’s father passed away.

So, she resigns herself to the month-long journey-determined to make the best of it.

But an unexpected friendship develops between Georgina and their tour guide-one that changes her life forever.

What will happen when they are suddenly and unexpectedly parted? Will Georgina’s life ever be the same?

My Thoughts: This book is completely lovely. It is a beautiful and romantic story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I loved the characters, the humor, the sweet story and romance.

This is a wonderful book and I would definitely recommend purchasing it-which is the highest, and rarest compliment I give any book. It’s really, really good.

I would like to thank Covenant Communications for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you!

Such a cute story! I was pleasantly surprised by how much humor was in this book. There was a lot of witty (and funny) banter between the characters. It made the story so much fun to read.
I loved hearing about the art and the different countries they stopped at. It was just long enough to be satisfying but not so long that it took forever to read.
The characters were enjoyable and the ending was perfect!

This is the first story I have read from the Romance on the Orient Express series and I was drawn right in. What a fabulous adventure for these sweet characters. Aunt Rowena and her friends are so much fun. I love the honesty between Gigi and Clyde. I have a feeling I need to read more of this series to know all there is to know about Nicholas, still, he is intriguing. What a fabulous way to learn more about the world!

Who wouldn't want to take a ride on the Orient Express train and go to Vienna? I know I won't be doing that anytime soon, but I was able to imagine what it was like when I read the latest in the Romance on the Orient Express series.

Georgina (Gigi) is talked into going on a trip with her aunt and the members of her whist club. What 24 year old wouldn't want to spend a month traveling with several women in their mid-60s? Well, don't feel too bad for Gigi, because her crafty Aunt Rowena has a plan.

What a great story! I loved Gigi. Reading about her made me think back to when I was only 24 years old. I wish I'd had a wealthy, independent aunt to take me on a fabulous train trip through Europe to visit museums and the exposition in Paris. Although Gigi and the handsome professor Clyde Haskins know what Aunt Rowena's up to, they pretend to go along with her matchmaking scheme. It was fun to watch their pretend interest in each other turn into something real.

Although I loved Gigi, my favorite character in the story was Aunt Rowena. She's so funny, and when she gets with her friends Blanche and Irene, well, you never know what they might say or do, such as play matchmaker. Their lists and conversations had me laughing out loud. It was fun to see older people have fun in the story, instead of being all stiff and stuffy. It was nice to find out a little more about the mysterious Nicholas.

We only have one more book in the series and I'll be sad to see my journey on the Orient Express come to an end. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher Covenant Communications via NetGalley.. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I've always wanted to read a book like this set in the Orient Express. There is something great and romantic about a time period where people traveled in trains. Meeting the supporting characters were great and I enjoyed meeting the ensemble. It played like a rom-com in my mind. I believe this book is less than 200 pages long and I would have liked to see more of the different stops along the way. I also would have liked to read more about Professor Haskin's lectures. Overall, it's pretty entertaining.

Europe, especially Vienna, the Oriental Express, and matchmaking aunties create the perfect chemistry for a sweet romance. Both Gigi and Clyde have had a broken heart, and both are resolved to never go there again. Moore does such a great job at building a friendship and slow romance. The obstacles to overcome are genuine and they have to wrestle through their own barriers. The scenery descriptions are vivid and do an excellent job of transporting the reader. The romance is just sweet enough to melt any heart and out a smile on your face. I received a copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are my own, freely given.

Gigi is asked to travel with her Aunt Rowena on an art tour across Europe. Their tour director is handsome Clyde Haskins, but when it becomes clear Aunt Rowena is trying to play matchmaker for Gigi and Clyde, Clyde informs them he is a confirmed bachelor after having his heart broken. But as the tour continues, Clyde and Gigi find an unexpected friendship. Could it ever be more?

I really enjoyed the backdrop of the Orient Express for this sweet romance. The details and descriptions made it so easy to feel like you were right there with the characters! Gigi has hopes and dreams, some of which have been dashed. When the secret comes out about why her beau abruptly left her, Gigi has to examine her thoughts and feelings and decide if she's ready to move on. The friendship and blossoming romance between her and Clyde was paced well and had some really great moments---and swoon-worthy kisses! Clyde was a solid hero, and his kind attentions to Aunt Rowena and her friends would make the hardest heart melt. And of course, Gigi slips behind his wall of defenses and burrows her way into his affections in a way that takes him by surprise. It's really sweet, actually. Readers will root for this couple to find their happily-ever-after, and enjoy the exotic setting locations.

I have to say that this one has been my favorite of the series so far. And I have to say I'm pretty sure that it's because of the Vienna sitting of this one. I just love Vienna even though I've never been but it's on my bucket list.

Georgina (Gigi) considers herself unlucky in love, and is finding being around her sister's wedding preparations quite hard. Then her aunt arranges to join an art tour on the Orient Express and orders Gigi to accompany her and her friends. Unfortunately for Gigi, the tour is aimed at older people and she's by far the youngest in the group - except for the leader, Professor Clyde Haskins. Her aunt promptly decides to try her hand at matchmaking, but Clyde is still feeling the effects of a failed engagement and declares himself not interested in a relationship. As the tour progresses, though, an attachment grows between Gigi and Clyde - but can it survive real life and their fears?

I can't say that the story made me want to travel on the Orient Express, but that's hardly surprising because art really isn't my thing. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the story, perhaps particularly the way that Gigi's family supported her in so many ways. The storyline was somewhat predictable, though not painfully so, but the writing was good and the characters interesting. All in all, a good read.

Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.
