Great twist. This book had me pulled in from the beginning. So many twists and turns I didn't expect. Great research and factual information on certain hobbies, and descriptions. Sad parts, action, and lots of thriller. Well done!

I enjoyed No Exit so I had high hopes for Hairpin Bridge and it was just an okay read for me. I was super invested at first and couldn’t stop turning pages but as the story went on, some events and happenings were so repetitive and other things were not believable at all.

I expected more twists but there were hardly any which was disappointing but I expect most will love this so take my thoughts with a grain of salt!

Lena Nguyen by no means believes that her twin sister has committed suicide. Cambry exists by her own set of rules, but there’s no good reason she’d drive to Montana just to die. Plus, there’s the issue of 16 attempted calls to the police for help and other suspicious instances that don’t add up. Lena decides to take matters into her own hands by meeting up with the last person to see her sister, Corporal Raymond Raycevic. Raycevic seems to be hiding something and Lena is determined to find out what that might be.

Hairpin Bridge is most definitely one of the more thriller-y thrillers I’ve read in a long while. I think the mark of a good book coincides with how difficult it is to put down (amongst other things but that’s neither here nor there at the moment) and this book is impossible to put down. It isn’t a perfect story, but it is so entertaining that some of the smaller issues fall to the wayside. I think if you dug No Exit, you’ll probably love this one too. It’s 4 stars from me!

This pains me to say, but this was a big pass for me. I loved No Exit and thought this one had a lot of promise, but I didn’t enjoy it. Ok, so you have estranged twins Cambry and Lena. Lena is reeling after she finds out her sister supposedly committed suicide at Hairpin Bridge, in a remote area of Montana. She doesn’t believe that she would do this to herself so she gets the local cop who found her body to meet with her and give her some answers. It was a good set up, but I found it to be overly brutal and long. There were parts that felt repetitive and it was one of those thrillers that veered into ridiculous. There were a lot of twists and I liked the sister’s blog entries, but all in all this wasn’t for me.

HAIRPIN BRIDGE by Taylor Adams is a fast-paced and gripping thriller with plenty of twists and turns to keep me on the edge of my seat. It is dark, atmospheric and loaded with suspense. Three months ago, Lena Nguyen’s twin sister Cambry died after jumping from a remote bridge near Missoula, MT. At least that’s what the police report says. The supposed suicide text she sent to Lena strangely mentions Officer Raycevic, the state trooper that found her body. But something about the official story doesn’t make sense to Lena. Why would her sister leap to her death after attempting to call 911 sixteen times? Also troubling is that the record shows that Officer Raycevic stopped Cambry for speeding just an hour before she jumped, making him the last person to see Cambry alive. Lena will stop at nothing to learn the truth. She drives to Montana to meet with Officer Raycevic in the exact place where Cambry died. Recording his answers to her questions, she hopes to get a confession from Raycevic, but instead finds herself in a terrifying cat and mouse game that puts her own life in danger. I don’t want to drop any spoilers so I will just say that the action is intense and sinister and had me holding my breath more than once. I enjoyed this dark and well-crafted thriller and I look forward to reading more from Taylor Adams. Cambry has always been a little wild, and kind of a loner, but that doesn't explain why she would jump from Hairpin Bridge to her death. Lena knows it is up to her to find out the truth about what happened to Cambry - which is why she arrives on Hairpin Bridge, in Cambry's car, to meet the police officer who was the last person to see Cambry alive - Raymond Raycevic. Lena is convinced that Raycevic knows more than he has admitted - and she's determined to get the full story out of him, no matter what she has to do.

Oh my goodness - what a wild ride! I loved Taylor Adams' last book, No Exit, so I had high hopes for this one. It did not disappoint! While parts of the story were a little unbelievable, I didn't even care because I was so engrossed and wanted to find out the real story behind Cambry and Raycevic's interactions leading up to her death. Lots of twists, turns, and crazy action - you will not want to put this thriller down. Taylor Adams just became an auto-buy author for me!

Adams does it once again! Wild, suspenseful page turners are the name of the game when it comes to his writing and this was no exception!

He’s so phenomenal at keeping you guessing until the very very end. I had no idea what really happened until he finally wrote it out for us. I was guessing and going back the entire book. Which is exactly what I love about his stories!

If you need something fast paced that will keep you guessing and turning pages until the end, this is your book! He knocks it out of the park once again, and you will not be disappointed!

Lena’s estranged twin sister committed suicide according to the police report, but Lena isn’t buying it.

Cambry wasn’t suicidal, and the last text that she sent to Lena made Lena doubt her sister jumped off of Hairpin Bridge.

That specific text had a police officer’s name in it which was strange.

Lena is back at the scene with the same officer re-living her sister’s nightmare.

Mr. Taylor definitely knows how to put the reader in the scene. You will make every turn at high speed with Cambry as she is outrunning the policeman chasing her and you feel her fear.

You will also feel Lena’s fear as she questions Officer Raycevic and sees discrepancies in his story.

What really happened to her sister?

Was Officer Raycevic involved in her death?

Is Lena safe all alone at the scene with Officer Raycevic and no cell service?

Beware of fast-paced, tense action and unsettling, gory scenes.

HAIRPIN BRIDGE is a descriptive read filled with twists that thriller fans will completely enjoy. 4/5

Lena’s twin sister Cambry died because of suicide and that is what the police said. But she isn’t buying it.
She wants to know what really happened on that very bridge where her sister ‘jumped’ and no other person to help her with that than the officer who discovered her late sister’s body.
Corporal Raymon Raycevic was helpful and agreed to meet with Lena-but things just don’t add up with his story and the reports. One major thing that baffles Lena was that she received a text from Cambry saying “Please Forgive Me. I couldn’t live with it. Hopefully you can, Officer Raycevic.”.
Lena will do whatever she can to unveil the truth about her sister’s death and what is the connection of Cambry and this officer.

My first Taylor Adams book and I am hooked!
The author knows how to build a harrowing suspense and can make you sit up from your seat. The narrative was done flawlessly. I enjoyed how there are only less than 5 characters in the novel yet the story was weaved in a good transition.
It may not be as action packed as a David Baldacci novel but there are so many scenes in the book where I can’t help but feel the rush of excitement.
Lena is a bad ass protagonist! She doesn’t hold back and she is someone who is always ahead (planning wise).

Just a warning though, this book contains violence (towards women and children) and representation of schizoid personality.

Hairpin Bridge is a fast-paced thriller that will keep your teeth gritted as you race to the end. This one is action-packed and full of car chases, gun slinging, and gruesome descriptions of bodily harm--I have a feeling our teen boys will really enjoy it.

The events in the book all take place during one day, but there are a few flashbacks. Lena and Cambry Nguyen are twins, and Lena has come to Missoula, Montana to investigate her sister's death. Cambry's jump from the abandoned bridge was ruled a suicide, but Lena knows that it was murder. Officer Raycevic agrees to meet Lena and talk her through the crime scene. Lena knows there's more than he's telling her, and she also has some secrets of her own. When a semi-truck rolls on to the abandoned bridge, the action gets kicked up another tense notch, all the way to the satisfying ending.

A thriller with a string sisterly bond in the middle of it. I loved the determination of the protagonist to find out what lead to her sister’s demise. A truly relentless quest!

“Hairpin Bridge” is like a fast-paced, high-action movie, with car chases, mystery, and gun fights. You sit at the edge of your seat in this full-throttle thriller, dying to know what really happened at Hairpin Bridge. Lena sets out to solve the mystery of what happened to her sister—why did she die, because it just doesn’t make sense? She finds herself tracking down a cop, the last person Cambry texted before she died. Something just doesn’t sit right with him. But be warned... the ending just may surprise you!

No Exit by Taylor Adams was my favorite thriller that I read in 2020, so I went into Hairpin Bridge with high hopes. Unfortunately I was really disappointed. The storyline did not hold my attention, I didn't find any of the characters likeable, I saw the "plot twist" coming from a mile away and there was WAY too much gun information/loving for me. The cliff hangers at the end of the chapters is ultimately what lead me to finish Hairpin Bridge, otherwise I probably would have set it down and not picked it back up. Just not my cup of tea! Still a fan of Adams' writing style, so I'll check out more of his stuff in the future! Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I LOVED No Exit, Taylor Adams' last book so much and when I saw this was coming out I knew I had to get my hands on it as soon as I could. This book hit the ground running, there wasn't a ton of set up at the beginning, he quickly got to the bulk of the story while slowly dispersing background information at the same time. I really really liked this book I just didn't love it as much as No Exit. He's using the same compelling formula that absolutely works but this one just didn't keep me locked in the same way. I think it's my own fault for being my own hype man on something before I even read it.

This story centers around Lena and her twin sister Cambry. They're not super close and when Lena learns of her sisters suicide she goes to the place it happened to get some closure. While Lena is there she brought along her tape recorder and is meeting up with the cop who was the last one to speak with her and who was also mentioned by name in the last text that Cambry sent to Lena. Here the story unravels in perfect thriller fashion keeping you on the edge of your seat as you flip pages as fast as you can. This story gave me whiplash and kept me spinning the entire time! I'd really love to see this as a movie, I think it would be absolutely perfect. I do highly recommend this book as well as his previous one, No Exit.

Hairpin Bridge is electrifying, moving at a page-turning, can’t put down pace. But sometimes it feels like it’s going so fast that it can’t keep up with itself. Lena goes out to a small community in Montana where her twin sister Cambry died, convinced that Cambry was killed by a cop she met, not willingly taking her own life. The sisters really hadn’t spoken in years, Lena the steadfast and boring twin who now feels the need to understand and complete her sister’s story, and Cambry, the wild soul that had traveled the country before ending up dead only a few hundred miles from home. The story is told mostly by Lena, but occasionally by the two other characters she has interactions with. It’s also told by Lena in the voice of her sister, trying to imagine Cambry’s last few hours before she died. In a sense, part of the book is told by an unreliable narrator because Lena is trying to tell her sister’s story from what she knows, which of course will turn out to be not everything. Add in that Lena’s telling this story as she’s in the exact same place in similar circumstances as her sister and the story starts blurring together and it’s hard to keep straight whether you are reading about Lena in the current time or what she imagines happened with her sister. I love the pacing of the story, the way it ends is both interesting and unexpected, but I just wish it had been a little bit easier to follow.

Officer Ray Raycevic is the officer who found Cambry that night and Lena would like some questions answered. As she digs a bit deeper things start to become real clear to Lena. fficer Raycevic was involved in her death and she is going to figure how. Full of action and questions and a few twists along the way, this book kept me reading well into the night. Taylor Adams has definitely become one of my favorite authors. What a fast-paced, tense thriller! This definitely had some surprises. I don't think I enjoyed this one quite as much as No Exit, mostly because I think I had less of a connection to the main character here. There's certainly more than meets the eye with this case. I definitely enjoyed learning about it as the book progressed! Some of the events/reveals were a bit of a stretch to believe, but I still had a fun time with this overall.

We mostly follow Lena's point of view, though there is an interesting second POV following her sister Cambry. Both sections were ridiculously action packed, and I just flew through this because I couldn't stop reading! Lena is extremely driven to find out what happened to her sister, even though they haven't been talking much lately and are a bit estranged at this point. She does sometimes neglect her own health and safety in pursuit of the truth! Though she does make some questionable decisions, I think in general, she was pretty smart and fun to follow. She certainly has some useful skills, and I liked that she does make some plans. Aside from Lena, we do have an assortment of unlikeable characters here. I definitely rooted for Lena to find the truth!

Overall, I had a great time with this and would recommend it if you're looking for a tense, action packed thriller. Content warnings for suicide and mentions of schizoid personality disorder.

Hairpin Bridge is a hair raising spellbinding read. My heart was racing with anxiety and anticipation through so many chapters. Reading this was like watching an action packed movie. Lena wants to find out the truth about her sister Cambry’s death. She is super smart and ballsy. I liked her spunk and determination. There are many graphic scenes that may deter readers, but I had to find out more. The author buries so many secrets in the story it’s like a video game. You have to reach a certain point in order to collect the prizes, nuggets of information that enrich the plot. Great read!

I have been a fan of Taylor Adams since Eyeshot and No Exit and I have to say he did not disappoint in Hairpin Bridge!

Cambry, Lena’s tough, strong, independent twin sister, jumped off a bridge falling 40 feet to a very tragic death. Lena and her sister weren’t close like other twin sisters you hear about being inseparable. In fact, Lena feels like she didn’t know her sister at all, but what she does know is that Cambry was a fighter. Lena reads of ghost stories and other suicides that took place on Hairpin Bridge, the very same place her sister died. She goes through all of her twin sister’s belongings and art to try and piece together her final hours and make sense of what could make her sister commit suicide, but one thing keeps gnawing at Lena. The last text she received from Cambry. Lena packs her bags, gets in her sisters Corolla and sets off to find out what actually happened to her. Who is this officer that Cambry mentioned in her last text to Lena? Why did Cambry call 911 16 times just a little bit before she allegedly jumped off this bridge? These are all questions Lena will find out and much more. Terrifying and thrilling!

I finished this book in two days!! I truly did not want it to end. Easily 5 stars!!!
