The Girls Are All So Nice Here is a shocking, gritty, dark and twisted read. I loved it!
Laurie Elizabeth Flynn focuses on the toxicities of a young female friendship and the consequences that can come from it.
I highly recommend this book if you are after a fast-paced and twisty read.

I would rate this book 3.75 out of 5 stars.

This is a thriller with unlikeable characters and toxic friendships - basically my perfect book!

The main problem people may have with this book is the ending... which I think will divide readers. I personally really enjoyed it.

The writing style in this book is not the best. I found that I couldnt connect to the characters, which based my opinion of the book. If you like mean girls than this book is the book for you.

Amb and Sully were the mean girls at Wesleyan College. Originally feeling awkward and like she doesn’t belong, Amb initially enjoys it when Sully takes her under her wing and introduces her to a party lifestyle which proves to be deadly. Now it’s the 10 year reunion and someone is sending Amb and Sully messages making it clear they know the secret and want revenge. A tale of just how dangerous some friendships can be and an unexpected twist at the end I didn’t see coming. A great read!

You can’t run away from your past Ambroisa Wellington. It’s been 10 years; she has blocked it all out. She’s a different person, she has a husband a great job.
When the invitations for her 10-year college reunion arrive in her inbox she declines.

There is no way she will be going and risk anyone finding out what she did. But the invitations keep coming, her husband Adrian finds out and encourages her to accept.

It’s a combination of Mean Girls and Pretty Little Liars, the book is told in the past and the present. This one will keep you captivated, strong character development you will feel pity for Ambroisa in one chapter and want to push her off a cliff in another. Lots of twists and turns in this one.

fascinating story of the friendship between two girls, and how far one is willing to go to impress the other. really enjoyed this story, the friendship between Amb and Sully felt almost cult-like. I found Flynn captures the extremes of some female friendships, playing on the willingness of girls to bring down others to boost themselves. overall this was a great thriller to read.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Australia HQ for providing me with an Arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A friendship so toxic that by the end, multiple people will be dead.

The Girls are all so Nice Here ie a twisty thriller similar to Mean Girls or Pretty Little Liars for adults.

Featuring a friendship that has well and truly crossed over into an all consuming obsession, and being left behind is not an option.

Ambrosia reluctantly agrees to attend her college reunion only after receiving threatening mail. Someone knows what really happened and if Ambrosia doesn’t return to a place she never ever wanted to see, then her secrets, the truly awful things she did and hid, in the name of friendship. Will be exposed.

The Girls are all so nice here is truly unputdownable, I finished it in almost one sitting. And although some of the plot twists were predictable, it didn’t detract from how enjoyable this book was.

First of all, thank you Simon and Schuster for my Advanced Readers Copy! This was a wonderful experience as a first time Netgallerist reviewer!

Now onto the good part.

You weren't lying, this girls are NOT NICE AT ALL! LOL!

HOLY SHIT. THIS BOOK WAS AWESOME! If anyone is hesitating to read it, I am not kidding, THIS BOOK DESERVES A FREAKING READERS CHOICE AWARD!! IT HAS MY VOTE!

I loved the twists and turns. It had me questioning for a while on what really happened. But wow! This book did not disappoint! I'm trying not to give away spoilers but I loved the perspective of a girl who just blindly follows her friend's bad behaviour and her "excuses" for her bad deeds. It was interesting getting inside of the mean girl's head and watching the consequences of that behaviour haunt her later in life. I enjoyed the past and current day chapters, how we got to see a well rounded written character.

And the ending, oh ho ho! That was well done. I swear if this doesn't get made into a movie, I'm gonna riot!

Thank you so much Laurie and Simon and Schuster for this opportunity! I'm going to buy this book and put in my collection. I have a feeling, I'm gonna be rereading this over and over. Hands down best book for this year!

Wow.
wow.
wow.

I can't think of another word to describe the feeling after finishing this novel.
It's one of those rare books that has so many twists and turns that are just so unexpected but always fit together so well. It had me in pure suspense and jumping from one theory to another about what happened and who did it.

The ending really came together and caught me off guard with how well put together it was and it was the least expected thing to happen. I really loved how chapters alternated between what happened at the time and the current day so the reader is able to see the haunted past and the effect it's having now on the people trying to deal with it. The final chapter was also a shock to me. I thought it was from a particular character's point of view but as it goes on, you realise it's someone else completely.

This novel really is a treasure and I think it gives merit to all the school campaigns teaching us why bully hurts. This novel takes that to the next level and really shows how something simple like a joke between friends at someone else's expense can go too far. I think it also points out that we shouldn't always 'follow the leader' and that even if it puts us outside the group we should make our own decisions.
