A Spot of Trouble by Teri Wilson was fun from page one! Cute Dalmatian dogs, an opposites attract romance, meddling senior citizens, a softball tournament between the FD and PD called Guns and Hoses, and a quaint sea side community all add up to a read that just made me feel good and put a genuine smile on my face. Sometimes we need books that are not complicated and gut wrenching, books that just make us happy. This book was that for me.

My sincere thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book and give my unbiased opinion of it. I highly recommend.

This book was just too cute you guys! I am a sucker for dog books! Honestly, I like dogs more than I like a lot of people! Sprinkles and Cinder were awesome Dalmatians! Violet was extremely likeable. Sam of course was not my favorite at first. But I grew to love him! If you are a fan of enemies to lovers, you better get this book.

Super cute, light hearted read! Everything you want in a small, beach town romantic comedy. Violet and her trusty dog, Springkes, are the small beach / island town of Turtle Beach's sweethearts, until fire marshall Sam Nash and his Dalmation, Cinder, move there. Now there are 2 damations, an enemies to lovers romance, and a decades long fued between the town police and firefighters at stake.

The story is super cute and light hearted - not a lot of depth to the plot, but that's okay! It's meant to be a light hearted beach read / romance book. And as a dog lover, it did not disappoint!

As soon as I saw the cover I was like oh my god Dalmatians I love these dogs. So naturally I had to read it.

This story is like a romantic Hallmark movie. It's an enemies to lovers romance and set on a small island near to North Carolina. Also can't forget it has the two dalmatians with their owners Violet and Sam.

I absolutely loved the whole story from start to finish

I absolutely adored this dual perspective enemies to lovers romance set on a small island off the coast of North Carolina. Full of small town charm, the banter between Violet and Sam, two dalmatian owners who end up on the wrong side of the heated Fireman vs Policeman summer baseball rivalry, was on point and highly entertaining. Violet teaches yoga to seniors and runs her own cupcake truck and Sam is the new to town Fire Marshall trying to fit in and adjust to island living.

I highly recommend this sweet, opposites attract Hallmark movie style summer romance, especially for fans of cupcakes, hot fireman, baseball and of course dogs (who naturally steal the show!). The first in a new series and I can't wait for more! This was the perfect end of summer read. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advance review copy!

“Love is a rare and precious thing. And when it’s real, it’s more than just black and white.”

There’s only one Dalmatian in the small seaside town of Turtle Beach and that’s Sprinkles who belongs to Violet March. But when Sam Nash moves to town for a new job, things don’t go well especially since he has a Dalmatian of his own– Cinder.

Violet accuses Sam for dognapping her dog, not knowing that it’s his dog and almost gets arrested for it. Everyone in town keeps mistaking Cinder for Sprinkles which aggravates Sam. Not only does he have a Dalmatian, but he’s the new fire marshal. After a bad break up with a former firefighter, Violet despises the fire department.

Violet tries her best to stay away from Sam, but it’s hard to do when living in a small town. They’re always fighting with each other, but then the attraction begins to grow between them. Even their dogs start to get along. Will Violet be able to stay away from Sam or will she have another heartbreak from a firefighter again?

Sometimes life weighs you down, and you simply need a low angst, sweet romance to lighten your load. And A Spot of Trouble was just what I needed at just the right time. The book is a small-town, enemies-to-lovers, opposites attract sweet rom-com written in the spirit of a true Hallmark-esque plot that is sure to warm your heart.

This book was the perfect prescription for a quick getaway from all the heavy that life is right now. It’s a fun and amusing story containing the right combination of quirky characters (to include those of the canine variety), octogenarian shenanigans, and light-hearted romance, along with a few more serious moments of introspection and growth for all. An all-around entertaining, quick read.

If you're looking for a quick, lighthearted rom-com, this book is a decent bet. Meddling older woman (with a Golden Girls vibe), adorable Dalmatians, a small town rivalry and two opposites fighting their attraction - it's a light, sweet contemporary romance ala Disney and Hallmark.

Sam Nash moves to this small beach town after a traumatic experience as a firefighter in Chicago. As the town's new fire marshall - all straight edges and no-nonsense - he soon learns that this town, and it's people, are more about messy joy and fun and all sorts of shenanigans. Violet March, the police chief's daughter, and her Dalmation, Sprinkles, in particular. Violet's eccentric and sweet behavior and her dog's fun-loving demeanor meet their match in Sam and his firefighter-trained Dalmation, Cinder. Sparks fly as these two become instant rivals with an attraction they just can't deny.

This isn't just a slow burn... this is a minimal burn, really. Despite the hot firefighters... and actual small fire. This book is more about that sweet, adorable love that develops despite their differences and about the fun that the dogs and the seniors citizens make happen for Sam and Violet. I'll be honest that I loved the dogs and Ethel, Mavis and Opal so much more than I did Violet and Sam. Their up-to-no-good antics really made this book with laugh-out-loud moments.

When I saw the cover of A Spot of Trouble by Teri Wilson I immediately thought that this was going to be a great rom-com. Upon starting it I couldn’t help but be reminded of 101 Dalmatians minus the dozens of puppies & Cruella of course. If like me you’ve watched every single Disney movie, you’ll know that the love story at the beginning of that movie is just so endearingly sweet & I couldn’t help but relate it to how the two main characters in this book started to fall in love. With their rambunctious Dalmatians (one more than the other.. looking at you Sprinkles) practically pushing them together.

Though the female lead Violet had A LOT of character growth to go through in the end, you could see the change in her and couldn’t help but root for her and Sam (male lead).

In a small town that seems to have one mindset and one mindset only… softball & the rivalry between the fire and police departments on opposing teams in this yearly sports tradition, they sure don’t make it easy on new comer Fire Marshall Sam. Having left Chicago after a horrid fire that had claimed some of his best friends and co workers, Sam just wants to start anew in a safe beach side town. But Sam did not factor in a crazy woman and her equally crazy dog.. this was for sure funny rom com that’ll leave you laughing out loud at multiple points throughout!

Violet is the only one in town with a dalmatian who she named Sprinkles. That is until Sam moves to town with his dog Cinder. After seeing him with his dalmatian she mistakenly accuses him of dognapping Sprinkles they don't exactly get off on the right foot.

What follows is a sweet romance between two people who find first impressions aren't everything. I really liked Violet and Sam's sunshine and grump dynamic and it was fun watching them fall for each other. The dogs and other residents of their town were entertaining and added a lot of humor to the story too.

From the first eventful meet of these two very different Dalmatian owners I knew this was going to be a fun. A Spot of Trouble by Teri Wilson was fun even hilarious at times. I also knew that it was going to be impossible for Violet March and Sam Nash to stay enemies no matter that Violet has called Sam a male “Cruella”. Don’t forget I did say there were some hilarious situations and dialogue to go with them. Even the delightful cover is fun!

Sprinkles and Cinder “accidently” switch places but perhaps these two Dalmatians were smarter than the average dog. Certainly smarter than the average owner. For an easy to enjoy, dogs to love and two humans that need some help look no further than A spot of Trouble. It will make your afternoon, day, week or longer brighter. I know thinking about this story still brings a smile to my face. My personal favorite Teri Wilson book.

So I've heard many good things about Teri Wilson's writing and was so glad to have finally gotten around to reading one of her books. I really loved the build up and the drama in this book. There were so many tropes and different things to like also a parent-trap style switch in the form of Dalmatians which was absolutely amazing! Can't wait to read more from Teri Wilson in the future!
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review!

A Spot Of Trouble is about two characters. Violet who has always lived in Turtle Beach all her life and it is a very small place where everyone knows each other and rumors run fast. And Violet no longer believes in love after a painful experience. On the other hand we have Sam Nash a firefighter and baseball star who comes to Turtles BEACH to change the air.
The two have one thing in common: their adorable and dalmatian opposites who know this fact of each other begins a rivalry between them.

Thanks Netgalley for the advanced copy and it is already the second book I read by the author and I love her pen so light that it makes me have a wonderful time.
I loved the character building as they are very real and like all of them they make mistakes.

The plot is very simple but I loved this detail of the Dalmatians and a little while ago I saw again for the second time the new Disney movie "CRUELLA" and I feel that this influenced me a lot that I liked the book.
I liked that rivalry that soon changed little by little and to be able to know both points of view of the characters.
And the truth is that although it is a contemporary book to me it helped me to understand several things about love, family and friendships.

I’ve been on a romcom kick lately (if you have any must-reads let me know) and I adored Keri Wilson’s book Accidental Beauty Queen and I couldn’t wait for this one.

It was so much fun! First, the dogs were just adorable. There are a lot of animal side-kicks in books, but Cinder and Sprinkles made the story. I loved that they played such an active part.

The ladies at the senior center (called the Charlie’s Angels) made me LAUGH. Mavis, Opal, and Ethel were quite the mischievous and matchmaking trio.

Then the romance! It was such a fun enemies-to-lovers with all of the tension and chemistry. It was perfect parts passionate and sweet. I couldn’t get enough of Sam and Violet.

It was was laugh-out-loud funny and so swoony! I’d definitely recommend this one.

A Spot of Trouble is a lighthearted, fun, romantic comedy about an opposites attract couple and their two lovable dalmatians. I haven't read any of Wilson's previous books but I found the writing style to be easygoing and upbeat (meaning I managed to get through this book within a day).

While this book is meant to be about the leading couple, I found that the dogs were the real focus - for me, anyway! Sprinkles and Cinder were such contrasting personalities and kept me entertained throughout. The rest of the storyline is fairly predictable but in a sweet way; the heroine being a baker was fitting in that regard as the sweetness of this book reminded me of a frosted cupcake.

To be honest, I didn't really connect to either the hero or heroine, and wished their relationship was a little more developed so I don't really have too many feelings about them.

I really enjoyed the small town setting though. I'm a sucker for small town romances and loved that the hero moves into this quirky, beachside town and gets thrown into the weird cop/firefighter rivalry.

Overall, A Spot of Trouble was a cute read and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a sweet, low-drama romance.

A Spot of Trouble is a light-hearted, small town romance featuring two very different people and their two very different Dalmatians. The tropes would include a bit of insta-love mixed with enemies to lovers as Violet and Sam duke it out over their dogs and fire safety in a town where the police force and firefighters are in an epic rivalry in the all important and vaulted, softball tournament.

This book is a bit on the ridiculous side, it's zany and outageous, and a fairly short and quick read. There are meddling elders, a ton of puppy content, and an opposites attract type feel with the characters finding a level of compromise by the end. The outrageous events were a bit much for me at times which kept this book from being a 4 or 5 star read for me, but there was a good level of emotion to balance out the outrageous which kept me interested.

Books like this make me want to live in a small town, and I really wanted to adopt a Dalmation after reading! Dog lovers will get enjoyment out of this read, along with those who read Nicholas Sparks (for the small town setting not the tragedy). Overall, it was an average read for me.

Imagine my concern when the opening scene for this romance involves a woman who can't differentiate her own dalmatian from another. Now, envision my eyebrow-raising judgment compounding when she calls 911 to get her cop father and brothers to come and arrest the supposed perpetrator. The whole town is more willing to assume that Sam stole Violet's dog than to acknowledge there might now be two dalmatians living on the island. Violet also starts a campaign to free Sam's dog from "unfair treatment" because she's a working-dog... People, I just can't. Airheads can be endearing characters, but this one drove me up the wall.

Turtle Beach is an island small town, built on traditions like the softball feud between the police and fire departments, begun thirty years ago when the two chiefs were fighting over a woman (no, really... this is the plot). I'm not sure if I'm happy on their behalf that they have nothing better to do or wishing they would be of more service to their community. What it boils down to is this: romance always asks you to accept some unreality to enjoy the tropes and the happily ever after. This small town pushed my buttons so much that I couldn't take leave of my skepticism and sink into the love story. If I had to see the word "wholesome" used to describe Turtle Beach one more time, I might have screamed. No place with people in it can be truly wholesome. Even cozy mysteries understand that, what with the murdering going on.

Romance-wise, we have enemies-to-lovers based on the dog mixup, the softball feud, and a personality clash. It's got a "one step forward, two steps back vibe" due to all the mishaps that pop up to fuel their animosity whenever either character starts to consider putting the feud to rest. The squabbling became a bit frustrating since the inciting incidents were so minor and unintentional. Then, they decide they are falling for each other after a single non-snarky conversation. It's low-to-no steam, much more focused on the rivalry.

This book just wasn't a good fit for me. If you like a romance that is light and carefree with the angst more silly than soul-searching/rending, this may be more up your alley. Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, out 9/7.

I go back and forth on this book.
There were things I liked and things that weren’t necessarily bad but also not for me.
I think the hero was a great character but the heroine was hard to stomach. It made it harder for me to root for them to get together.
The antics in the book were ok (again some I liked and some I didn’t).
The writing itself I enjoyed.
Overall this was an okay, quick read.

My thoughts…
Cheesy but cute! Well, it was a romcom/romance book, so expect the small town romance cheese. When you add dogs then you get the zany chaos. This book was inspired by 101 Dalmatians’ Anita and Roger’s love story. I would have liked it more if it wasn’t for Violet’s character. She was 28 but with a teenage character; too bubbly and naive for me. The storyline was quite repetitive too but, overall it was a super quick and cute read.
