Thanks to Sourcebooks for the ARC of Witch Please - a perfectly fun fall romance that I highly recommend, especially, if like me, you're looking for more bisexual characters in your romances!

Oh, man, this was so stinking cute! I just adored these two and their romance, it was just so awkward and hilarious and so fun to read! Like Chapter 16! That was just so laugh out loud hilarious! I had such a great time reading this book!

I really enjoyed these characters! I loved Danica and how she had these conflicting messages from her mom and her grandmother, about who she she marry. And then she meets Titus, and the sparks just fly-but he's just a regular guy, he doesn't have a magical pedigree. She's she's stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Titus just is really unlucky in love. And I loved how that tied into the story, that was just hilarious! So he's a little gun-shy, but so eager, and knowing what they're both thinking, I was worried for him,, but it did all work out in the end!

I loved how everything worked out, from her panicked flight, and some of the reveals about her family that she didn't know. And I liked how it worked out about her being a witch, because it's not like she's keeping it a secret, really, but letting him make assumptions about it, and that was really great!

This was a fantastic read, and I'm so glad that it's a series, and more of these witches will find love!

Pitched as Practical Magic meets Gilmore Girls? Two of my favorite things in the entire world and I was immediately intrigued.

First of all, the bisexual rep was really wonderfully done and I loved him so much. He is the sweetest cinnamon roll character and I loved him the most. Danica was also great, easy to like and I loved her chemistry with Titus!

While the book had it's charm and magic, it also lacked a lot. Often, some key parts of the story made no sense or had very little explanation and it confused me and made it hard to really commit to the story. It just fell a bit too short for me but I would still be intrigued to continue with the series to see how it develops!

I tried really hard to get into this book and it's completely possible it was just my mindset at the time. I think I read about 50% before realizing I was forcing myself to finish it and wasn't actually enjoying what I was reading. I can see myself enjoying Witch Please at a later date but right now, it just wasn't for me. That said, I'm really intrigued by the second book and can see myself going back and finishing this book before it's released.

There were things I definitely liked about this but other things that didn't make sense. I felt like there were a lot of different plots going on in this and maybe removing one or two would calm it down. It also didn't quite make sense why the grandmother had so much control. But I did really like the main couple.

I am a big fan of supernatural romance but I don't really like the whole "give up who you are for a man" trope so this was iffy to begin with. In addition, the writing felt a little lifeless and flat. The jokes were a little empty. I think it was going for quirky but just felt stilted.

Okay, honesty time.

I didn't love this one. I had really high expectations going into this book. A book about a bisexual witch out in time for Halloween and Autumn- perfection. But I feel a little let down with what I actually got.

As a bisexual person, I didn't love the bisexual representation in the book. I didn't feel like there was anything in the writing that hinted at this other than just saying that she is bisexual. I don't mean to say I only like books that play on bisexual stereotypes because boy oh boy, I do not like that. But I would have loved to see it better incorporated into the character and the plot.

The world-building was confusing and overwhelming at times. I had to go back and reread sections to really understand what I needed to know.

Yes, there is a little steam, if that is what you're into!

Overall, it's a fine book but just not my cup of tea!

This title though. Perfect. This book was cute. I am kind of out of the witchy mindset at this point, but this was a very lighthearted read with some 🔥 and spice.

My gripe is the political bits sprinkled in. I wanted witchy fun, not hot topics thrown about that don’t really add much to the story. It’s also much too long for what’s happening in the story.

Witch, Please by Ann Aguirre is another perfect witchy book to round out spooky season if you're looking for something with witchy vibes without the spookiness. This story featuring an independent witch and a cinnamon roll of a baker (and I don't give him that designation just because of his profession) was sweet, funny and steamy and a great addition to shelves and TBRs for October.

In addition to an undeniable attraction between Dani and Titus and watching them navigate and grow that, Dani and Titus also navigate issues with their separate families that are complex and relatable, even in a book that depends on the suspense of reality for a world where Witches exist. I think the use of the word "mundane" for a non-magic individual is pretty funny, but Dani's grandmother's opinion and treatment of mundanes is all to real and applicable to the real world (and not funny at all). Titus' devotion to his now-passed mother and his step-sibling is part of his cinnamon roll build and my goodness, do I just want to hug him and keep him safe and whole.

I really enjoyed this one (though full-disclosure, it was my least favorite of the 3 witchy books I've read and reviewed here this year- doesn't mean I don't recommend it though!) and I'm really excited for the second book in this series next spring!

This one earns a moderate 🔥 rating and ⭐⭐⭐.5 from me!

Overall I enjoyed Witch Please— Anne Aguirre's writing/voice is fantastic, the premise is fun, and both Danica and Titus were charming so watching them fall in love was really delightful.. It was evocative of a lot of what I love about Practical Magic (the film sorry I haven't read the book🤦🏼‍♀️) which was also a treat. There was a bit in the middle where it kinda felt like the story dragged like a ~little~ bit, but I was enjoying the vibes overall it didn't take long to grip me again. Im intrigued by the second book and look forward to checking it out!

Absolutely delightful autumnal read! I can definitely see myself rereading this seasonally. I love the witch vibe, the romance, the diversity in a small town, and the fact that it's only the first in a series!

Lately, I’ve been all about the small town paranormal romances. There’s something so endearing about this subgenre of PNR that just draws me in. And witchy stories make the perfect supernatural to feature in these.

In WITCH, PLEASE we first have a very different Ann Aguirre than I’ve read before. Although I’m not an excerpt on her backlist. So that may be a change of pace for you if you’re a longtime fan. This is a story about a family of witches and full of expectations in their community. Our heroine, Danica, has an affinity for electronics and technology. Her and her cousin run a repair shop in town. She’s grown up seeing the effects her mother’s marriage to a human had on her mom’s powers and acceptance in the community. And even though she has a failed relationship under her belt, she doesn’t want to disappoint her grandmother and not marry a witch of good pedigree. Titus walks into her shop one day needing to fix the broken oven at his bakery and all those plans and ideas quickly come crashing down.

This was definitely a cute story and I think the overall plot has a lot of potential. But at the same time it left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. Between the slower pacing and the main characters that didn’t always feel like they were actually spending time getting to know each other, I was left feeling there was something missing in this one. I liked the heroine (and side characters) probably more than the hero. Titus was just ehhh for me. And I really wanted to like him! He definitely felt extremely creepy and clingy at times and I get there’s a supposed reason for that but I still didn’t always like it. I also found that his virginity and the fact that he’s bisexual were not addressed as much as I would’ve liked in the story. I was certainly surprised when the main characters had sex for the first time and there was no clear conversation before, during, after about any of that.

When it came to the actual relationships in this book, romantic or other, they didn’t come across as deep for me. Maybe that was by design, this is a more light hearted book in many ways. But at times it did go into some more serious subjects and again I don’t think they were handled with much depth.

Lastly, I would say there’s a lot of parallels in this witchy world to real racism. I can’t say I felt it was addressed well. And the way part of that is handled towards the end of the story as it involves the HEA just doesn’t sit well with me.

All that but still I found this to be a sweet book. There were fun moments with the family, I loved the support system that the heroine and even the hero have. Family is a central part of this story and of both MCs and that is always heartwarming and makes for a perfect summer read. So if you’re looking for a cute paranormal to read while enjoying those last few rays of sunshine this Summer, maybe give this one a try.

Was this book terrible? No. Was it amazing? Also no. By the end of the book I was meh. There were bits I loved and bits I wasn't so taken with. I felt Titus was majorly too clingy and came on way too strong, Clem was almost as overbearing as Gram with her insistence of adhering to the pact and no ending to the witch hunter storyline left me disappointed. This book could have been so much more but sadly wasn't for me.

I am loving all the witchy books out this fall! Witch Please was a fun and quirky read, filled with plenty of magic. Titus was such a sweet cinnamon roll hero and a perfect match to Danica. And I love a good witch/commoner romance.

Danica Waterhouse is a fully modern witch—daughter, granddaughter, cousin, and co-owner of the Fix-It Witches, a magical tech repair shop. After a messy breakup that included way too much family "feedback," Danica made a pact with her cousin: they'll keep their hearts protected and have fun, without involving any of the overly opinionated Waterhouse matriarchs. Danica is more than a little exhausted navigating a long-standing family feud where Gram thinks the only good mundane is a dead one and Danica's mother weaves floral crowns for anyone who crosses her path.

Three blocks down from the Fix-It Witches, Titus Winnaker, owner of Sugar Daddy's bakery, has family trouble of his own. After a tragic loss, all he's got left is his sister, the bakery, and a lifetime of terrible luck in love. Sure, business is sweet, but he can't seem to shake the romantic curse that's left him past thirty and still a virgin. He's decided he's doomed to be forever alone.

Until he meets Danica Waterhouse. The sparks are instant, their attraction irresistible. For him, she's the one. To her, he's a firebomb thrown in the middle of a family war. Can a modern witch find love with an old-fashioned mundane who refuses to settle for anything less than forever?

There were parts of this book that I loved and other parts that I could have done without which is why I landed at a solid three stars. The parts that I loved included the main characters Danica and Titus. There relationship was SO spicy but in such a good way. They had this amazing chemistry together. I also loved Danica and her witchy family. They just set such a fun tone for this book. As for the parts I did not care for - witch hunter and Titus' family drama. I just felt like these sections could have been cut and the book would have been just as good, if not better! Overall, I would recommend this book as a light, witchy read.

I couldn't finish this too cutesy book. It felt like they were instantly in love based off of nothing, plus I'm not here for the reasons that the guy is a virgin. I looked up spoilers when deciding if I should finish and oof.

This was such a fun and cute read! Perfect for the romance lovers who want a seasonal book to fit with the Halloween spirit. It was steamy, entertaining and I loved the characters! I did feel the story was a little too instant love for me. Felt a bit too unrealistic, but then again, this book is about witches so it sort of makes sense too! Overall I enjoyed the book, read it in one sitting and I do recommend it !

I only got 25% through this book, because it expired before I could’ve finished it - but oh my
god! I absolutely loved everything about this, our main characters were likeable, funny. I loved their chemistry. Everything about the main character being a witch was really well thought out and interesting. I’m looking forward to finishing this book when it hits the shelves!

This unfortunately didn't work for me - I didn't connect with any of the characters, and I didn't really enjoy the story.

I recently finished reading Witch Please (Fix-It Witches) by Ann Aguire and it was unexpected, to say the least. Danica Waterhouse is a modern witch living in a small town as a technomancer and makes a living by fixing machines with her cousin and trying to make life work after falling in love with a 'mundane', that is, a person from a non-witch family.

Things I liked about this book - the setting. It's brilliant, with different types of witch magic and witch hunters (yes, even in the 21st century). Sisterhood and female friendships are important themes, with naturally diverse relationships between them. When it comes to romantic love, it's wonderfully forward with consent and openness. There's a great depiction of family life, and not just your conventional type of family.

What I didn't like - the insta love between the two main characters. Yeah their chemistry is great, sure, but after one meeting the man is deciding their children's names. w o w. also, slightly spoilery, but when it comes to light that Danica's Mom did put a curse on Titus, no one is alarmed? Danica herself is putting spells on Titus and that's treated as okay? Where is consent now? also I wish the witch magic was explored a bit more.

The characters are great, the plot is good, but I do feel like lots of things were left unresolved. I'm guessing they'll be highlighted in the next books in the series, though I don't know if I'll be reading them.

TL;DR - read this for a fun, forward, smutty witchy romance set in a small town, with lots of baking and magic and witty dialogue!
