This book tell us about Danica , who is a witch from a long line of powerful witches. Her grandma always says to her that she must be in a relationship with someone within the coven and never with a mundane ( people without magic). Her grandma told her that the family is cursed: if one of them loves a mundane, that person lose her powers.

One day Danica meets Titus, a bisexual baker that also have a curse: his relationship doesn’t work no matter what he tried. This two fell in love immediately and everything goes on.

I absolutely adore this book. Danica is a unique character : funny, strong, cute. She’s try to decide between makes happy her grandma or follow her heart and have a relationship with Titus.

I love the relationship between Danica and Clem ( her cousin) is amazing: the sense of sorority and love between they feel so realistic.

The way Titus loves Danica (and backwards) is so beautiful and so organic that makes me want that type of relationship.

I can’t wait to read the second book.

Netgalley gives me this book for a honestly review l.

Danica Waterhouse is a witch. She owns the Fix-It Witches repair shop along with her cousin Clementine. Everything is pretty normal in their small, magical (literally) world, until a handsome young baker visits her shop for some problem with his oven.

What I liked about the book:-

The book started out really strong and I was hooked. It also reminded me of my other favorite book, ‘Take a Hint, Dani Brown’ by Talia Hibbert. I was more than elated to be approved for the e-ARC of this book.
The writing style of the author is really good. It is clever, smooth, and engaging.
Titus is really adorable. I love him. Wish there were men like Titus in my life.
The chemistry between Titus and Danica is so cute. Their witty banter is all to look for in a relationship.
The world-building was good.

What I didn’t like about the book:-

There were a lot of unnecessary parts that made the book feel dragged out. I love the cute Danica-Titus moments, but those 2-3 chapters after the resolution of the main conflict were unnecessary.
The main issue was too easily resolved after all that buildup. Like, didn’t Danica just talk to her mom all these years?
The love angle between a Witch Hunter and a Witch is a recipe for disaster, but they just left it hanging.
I don’t like Clem. All of the story she gave Danica a hard time making her choose between ‘Sisterhood’ and Titus. In this story, she is supposed to be the ‘practical one’ who weights her options and keeps her emotions in check, only to be involved with a Witch Hunter? That put me off.

Overall, 3 stars. I enjoyed reading the book but there were things in it that put me off as I mentioned. Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the e-ARC of this book.

The best part about this book was Titus, the hero of the story. I found his struggles with romance very relatable, I really liked how he treated the people around him, and I just really wanted things to work out for him. However, I had a really hard time relating and sympathizing with Dannica. I didn't like how wishy-washy she was with Titus, and I don't think she did enough groveling to earn back Titus's trust when she broke it. Also, I just didn't like her family either. I get that we aren't really supposed to like her grandmother, but this lady really got on my nerves. Also, I didn't really like her cousin Clem, or her mother that much either.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. Cute story. A bit cheesy in parts. Perfect for those who like Hallmark type story plots. But a very light hearted read. Got through it in less than 2 days.

This is what I guess you could call a paranormal rom com. The first book in this series introduces Danica a Witch with a knack for mending things. She has always known that if she fell in love with a Mortal she would lose her powers so that's out the question but what about just a little fooling around ?
Titus the seriously gorgeous baker has had the most appalling bad luck romantically and you would honestly think he was cursed ! When his oven goes on the fritz he meets the woman of his dreams but just can't quite work out if she's blowing hot or cold !
A new type of book from this experienced author and whilst I do prefer her earlier work this series definitely has potential. This book was entertaining, sweet and just an all round fun read.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Danica runs The Fix-It Witches with her cousin as her family’s magical powers are technomancies. Danica makes a pact to never fall in love again.
Being that Danica is a Waterhouse witch, she can’t marry a mundane person like Titus. Her mother married a mundane, and her grandmother never forgave her for doing it. It's the reason her grandmother is hell-bent on making sure Danica doesn’t make the same mistake.

I think this book confirmed the fact I am not a fan of book one in a series. All the characters are introduced, which was good but not elaborated or explained. I felt like I was left hanging and needing more information. How are you going to introduce a witch hunter? But give no other information. I have more questions than answers for this book.

This book was SO GOOD! I adored the relationship growth and I loved the magic and I loved everything about this book. It was like such a breath of fresh air. I was reading a lot of heavy books recently so this light, sweet, and sometimes funny book was the best palette cleanser I could have asked for!

Witch Please by Ann Aguirre is the first book in the Fix-It Witches series that are centered around two cousins that own business together and live together, and on top of that both of them coming from a long line of witches. This first book in the installment focuses on the story between Danica and Titus. Danica is a witch living in a small town with her cousin Clementine, while leading their business Fix-It Witches where they fix mostly electronic things for the population of the town they live in. Titus, a bakery owner, meets her when he stops one day by the repair shop in order to hire their services so the bakery’s oven can be fixed.

The premises of the book was really good, but I think it failed to meet my expectations. Firstly, I failed to connect to either of the characters and their internal dialogue didn’t help in keeping me interested in their story. I would have appreciated a little bit more action in between the romance. Speaking about the romance, it felt extremely insta-love for my liking. From the very beginning the male character was planning of marrying Danica and I think there’s some degree that cannot be looked over. Apart from that, the world-building was really confusing, the rules of the witches weren’t really explained and I failed to feel the mystery that I think would have added more to the book. I would have liked to know more about witches, the friends and family that Danica kept talking about.

All in all, I was intrigued by the synopsis of the book, but I was somehow disappointed with the execution.

Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this advanced readers copy!

I love witch stories, and I loved Witch Please by Ann Aguirre. It was so much fun to read, the prose was great, and I enjoyed the characters. I read a lot of paranormal romance, especially witches, so this was a lot of fun for someone who enjoys the genre. I was able to be engulfed in the world without realizing it, and that was a lot of fun.

A modern, sexy romance with a paranormal twist. Danica is a witch living in a society that doesn't believe witches exist. Regular humans (mundanes) can never know about witches and the fact that they still live in the modern world. Titus is a baker who has the worst luck when it comes to women. He lives with his sister and has a strained relationship with his father. One day Titus's oven is on the fritz and he needs to hire the Fix-It Witches to help repair it. He is unprepared for the sparks that fly when Danica walks in his bakery. Danica feels the same way as Titus but is afraid that this relationship will not work because of the fact that she would have to hide her true self. What follows is a sexy romance with lots of steam and a little bit of danger.

This book is definitely a romance with some very sexy scenes. What I loved was the banter between Danica and Titus. There were many times where I laughed out loud. A light, enjoyable read that is perfect for anyone who loves romance and would love a book with a little something different.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this advanced readers edition.

While this book was not my normal style of paranormal romance I enjoyed it somewhat. Some of Danica's way of speaking reminded me of me. HOWEVER, There was too much internal dialogue for me and I guess I was looking for more a mystery and less fluff.

Witch Please follows Danica Waterhouse, a modern day "technomance" witch who runs a repair shop with her cousin Clementine. She comes from a long line of witches and is pressured by her grandmother to marry a man from a pureblood witch family to maintain their family line. However, this plan is interrupted when Danica falls for Titus, a sweet mundane baker. Danica must decide which is more important: love or magic.

I think my biggest issue with this book is that it felt underdeveloped. The romance was insta-love central, and I was put off by how all in Titus was from the very beginning (within their first interaction he's planning how he's going to propose and how many kids they're going to have). The world building was also confusing, and the main conflict of the book was wrapped up too quickly and conveniently. I also didn't really understand Danica's relationship with her family and how some things were kept a secret when they could have easily been discovered with a simple conversation. And one of the conflicts in this story won't be resolved until book two, which was frustrating because it really didn't need to be included since it barely impacted the plot of this book.

Overall I was intrigued by the premise of the story, but I was pretty disappointed with the execution.

Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for the digital review copy.

Witch Please is tons of fun! I was so excited to be approved for an early copy because it was one of my most anticipated reads! It did not disappoint! I had such fun reading this story! I read it one sitting! More witchy romances please! Danica Waterhouse is modern witch with ton of history. Her family owns the Fix-It Witches repair shop, a cover for their magical powers. She's supposed to marry a witch and its frowned upon to date non-witches. All this changes with she meets Titus, the owner of a local bakery. These two have literal sparks!! This story was steamy and adorable! I loved it!

The book started off strong and I was sure it would be an amazing read. The whole premise was very fun and I loved the setting, the shop names and the characters.

Another thing that had me convinced is the writing style and how easy it was to jump right into the world.

The point where it started to go downhill was the introduction of the witch hunter. I wanted all the fluff and none of the rough. But by the end, I felt the opposite.

It was as if the witch hunter came to cause a scene and then stayed in the background the entire time. I really wanted that to be resolved, now I'll have to wait until the next book.

Then we have Titus. His whole personality is cute, and that's not what this is about. It's his curse.

I spent the whole book thinking that he was some sort of secret witch, and was left disappointed on that front. MAYBE I wanted the grandma to be right a little bit okay? I kept hoping that if Danica checked the profiles, one of them would be Titus.

And finding out what the curse was in the end...I'm not mad. I was just expecting something less simple.

And that brings us to the Waterhouse curse of sorts. Where a witch is destined to lose her magic if she marries a mundane. The resolution for that was also unbelievably easy and it's so hard to believe that no one thought of that before.

Also, going into this, I was not expecting so much steam? But it's a very good thing. A very, very good thing. When I round my rating up you'll know it's for the steam and their chemistry alone.

The romance was, as it should be, the best part of this book. It's what I read it for and I'm content with what we got. Danica and Titus were made for each other.

Other than the witch hunter resolution, I'd like to see more of the coven in the next book(s). They're a riot. And more food descriptions please. I love the treats.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

My first witch book of the year so that means it’s fall, right?! Ann Aquirre’s book, Witch Please, follows Danica, who owns a magical repair shop called “The Fix-It Witches” with her cousin, and Titus, who owns a bakery with his sister.

There is instant attraction between Danica and Titus but after both suffering failed relationships and with Titus being a “mundane”, their relationship seems hopeless. I love Danica and Titus together and seeing the challenges they faced. .

The plot of the book is what really intrigued me. The world building and plot left me wanting more and hopefully in her next book some loose ends will be tied up. Witch Please is a quick, light, humorous read. I’m excited for Aquirre’s next book to hopefully dive more into this small but diverse, magical town and see how the rest of the story play out.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for the gifted copy.

Loved this book and 100% CAN NOT WAIT for the next one. Was not expecting the racist grandmother angle, but it was a nice twist to the idea. Little confused about the mom, ultimately, like why did she never *talk* to her mom especially about that?

I have been looking forward to Witch Please for months. I love Ann Aguirre’s books. She has gotten me through the last two years with some parts of my soul and sanity intact. On top of that already solid reason, Courtney Milan said she read Witch Please months ago and, well, the blurb is right there on the cover: “Sheer happiness in a book…” How can you argue with that? You can’t. Fortunately, I got my hands on an arc and I have read it twice now, thank you very much NetGalley.

Danika Waterhouse and her cousin Clementine are witches. They own the Fix It Witches repair shop in a small Midwestern town. Titus and his sister Maya own Sugar Daddy’s Bakery in the same small town. Danika and Titus have both been unlucky in love, (Titus thinks he’s cursed), until they meet each other. Their road to relationship bliss should be smooth, but instead it is littered with baggage from the past, and other people’s expectations. They are so immediately delightful, I was rooting for them to figure it out as soon as they went googly eyed over each other.

They each have families and businesses that demand their energy and attention. Danica’s grandmother has specific ideas about who Dani ought to marry, and her cousin wants her to keep up the no romance pact they made. Titus and Maya’s father remarried very quickly after their mother died and has moved on from his adult children, leaving them hurt and angry. Add in to the mix an encroaching cat, a friendly coven, a witch hunter, a slacker friend, and a teenage step-sister in need of saving. Both families have issues, but it’s Danica’s family throwing up roadblocks to true love. Though I don’t come from a family of witches, Danica’s grandmother was familiar.

Danica and Titus, individually and together are the glue that holds their worlds together. They like each other, and they are so horny for each other it steams off the page. This was a quick, entertaining read and I am already impatient for the next book, Boss Witch.

A huge thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the digital review copy!

After reading the synopsis, I was very excited for this book! Modern witch heroine with an affinity to fix electrical appliances and a bisexual virgin baker love interest! It was supposed to be the perfect witchy modern day romance! Sadly, it fell flat for me.

If we talk about the writing style, I’d say it was fairly easy to get into this book but I felt that the story wasn’t as immersive. When I started reading, I thought maybe it would get better once I’m introduced to all the characters, get to know more about them and the world. But as much as I read, it was having the exact opposite effect on me.

I liked both the main characters Danica and Titus! Danica a bit more because she seemed really cool! I really loved the witchy aspects in the story involving Danica, how she fixed all the appliances, it was pretty awesome!
Titus was a literal cinnamon roll (he was called cinna-man in the book lol)! He was sweet, kind, awkward and also owned a famous bakery! There were some things about Titus that bothered me, more specifically some of his thoughts. Being inside his head was not really fun though I liked him as a character and might’ve liked him even more if there hadn’t been his perspective.
There was definitely sizzling chemistry between Danica and Titus from the very first moment! It would’ve been an epic romance if not for the way it was played out. I despise insta-love trope but here, I flat out hated it. I mean, you don’t think about marrying a girl you’ve just met, right? And even after you get to know she’s not looking for relationships, you don’t think about having babies with her. It was cringe-y.

Danica’s grandmother was plain annoying. I didn’t understand her motives at all. And Danica’s cousin Clem was supposed to be like her best friend but she annoyed me with her reactions too. It felt like she wasn’t happy for Danica at all. And friends usually support friends and their decisions but Clem was all about finding reasons to not let Danica do what she wants to.

I liked the book club as a whole! That was a fun addition to the story and I would’ve liked to have more glimpses of them together, discussing books and get to know the other members.

I wished the plot was more concrete and there was more focus on the world building.
I was really confused by all the witches and coven and the various witch families. If it would’ve been explained more properly, this could’ve been the perfect witchy read.

If I wasn’t looking at it with a critical eye, I think I might’ve enjoyed it more because it was a quick read, sometimes even fun! I’m just really sad that it wasn’t for me.

Witch Please was not quite what expected. It was good and I think that some of our younger romance readers will enjoy it but I was expecting it to be more of a romantic comedy and less family drama.

There was so much to love here! Titus, Our CinnaMan love interest is a bisexual virgin baker chock of family values but also family issues. Danica Waterhouse took those family issues and raised him a thousand-fold, having made a silly anti-relationship pact with her cousin who was also under the thumb of the overbearing Grandma. I even liked Goliath, the silly cat. The grandmother brought in my least favorite parts of Gilmore Girls, and Danica's family issues seemed like the weakest parts of the story. Certain parts also seemed glazed over- for example, why Danica, a technomancer, has cats stalking her. And it's specifically mentioned as cats, but seems to just be 1 cat?
I thought that Ann managed to do some solid world building, while keeping it a light, quick fun read. Perfect for fans of Practical Magic and Gilmore Girls looking for a light romance!
