I absolutely loved Witch Please. Danica is such a great character and I really enjoyed her interactions with Titus and to see how their relationship goes. There were so many sweet and cute moments and I liked the duel story throughout. The two stories was the relationship between Danica and TItus and then Danica being a witch.

I definitely recommend to anyone wanting romance with fantasy added it!

Witch Please is a cute read. I really enjoyed this one. There are plenty of those laugh out loud moments as well as hot cute moments. Danica and Titus are a delight. I love that we get such a different character when it comes to Titus. He has so many sweet moments that you will just love. Danica is a refreshing witch and you cannot help but to love. The chemistry and banter between Danica and Titus are cute and hot. The sparks really fly between these two. I cannot wait to read more in the Fix-It Witches series.

I didn't know what to expect when I requested this book -- but it was such a cute and delightful read! It has all the things I love: a little magic, romance and baking.

Danica Waterhouse our heroine and her cousin Clementine own Fix It Witches, repair shop in a small shop (outside of Chicago, I believe). Oh and I did I mention that they're witches too? And no, they aren't the typical witches we've seen before. They live along the mudanes (those without powers) and aren't the witch types we've seen before in other stories. When Danica isn't helping her cousin run the shop or hang out with their coven, she's dodging her Grandmother's constant interference in her love life. Her grandmother doesn't want her to end up like her mother, who married a mudane and lost her magic because of it. But Danica made a pact with her Clementine which she's determined to keep until Titus, a sweet baker who owns the bakery, asks Danica to help fix his oven. Sparks fly between them, which surprises them both. But Danica can't fall a mudane, her grandmother and Clementine would kill her and she doesn't want to end up like her mother -- no longer able to practice powers.

Titus on the other hand, has a horrible track record and fears that he might be cursed as far as love is concerned. But he can't help but be drawn to Danica. Maybe things will be different with her and his unlucky streak will finally be broken. Danica tries to distance herself from Titus to protect her heart and her magic, but somehow they keep getting drawn together. Maybe they're exactly what the other one needs.

I really enjoyed this book. It was such an entertaining read. I can't wait to read the second book in the series and watch Clementine's love story unfold.

My only bump was some of the steamer scenes with Titus and Danica. There were a few times that I was put off by some of Titus's bedroom talk.

If you're looking for a romance novel with some Practical Magic vibes, this book is for you.

I received this advance copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Modern day witches is a very niche genre but i absolutely adore it and get so much joy out of reading witches experiencing modern day life. In Aguirre's story, these witches are descended from those in Salem but migrated west to avoid persecution and set down root in small towns. They each have separate talents, and our MC is a technomancer and owns an electronic repair shop with her cousin. There is an insta-love trope in this story which isn't always my favorite, but I appreciate the innocence that emanated from Titus.

Told in alternating POV's (which is my favorite in romance books), Danica and Titus meet an immediately want to spend more time together. The problem? Titus is a mundane (non-magic) and there is a curse on Waterhouse witches that means if they marry a mundane they will lose their magic forever. Danica must choose between Titus and her magic, which proves to be a challenge.

This book was exactly right for me. There was a solid level of steam/spice with some great sexual tension, family drama, and a fun magic system that isn't explained very well - but it doesn't feel like you're missing anything when reading. I adored Titus and his sister something fierce and I will accept no argument about them. Also, there is a a lot of LGBTQIA rep with both main characters and side characters. Also I desperately want the cinnamon rolls that had Titus nicknamed the CinnaMan.

I am excited for Clem's book next and will definitely be continuing to read the series.

I loved this book so much! It has such a diverse set of characters, including bisexuals and a same-sex couple. It was refreshing to see the female the more experienced sexual partner and the reason Titus is still a virgin was hilarious!

The meddling Grams was super annoying and I cheered so hard when Danica stood up to her! This was a perfect read to get me in the “witchy” spirit (aka fall bc I relate witches to fall/Halloween 🤷🏻‍♀️) and had me loling through the whole thing. Clem’s story is already on my TBR and I can’t wait to see what adventures await her.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

When I saw this one I was attracted by the cute cover and wanted to read this one as a fun season starter - a paranormal romance with a witch who repairs electronics and a baker who makes cinnamon rolls and is since dubbed the “CinnaMan” sounded just about right to feel better about summer ending, temperature dropping and fall starting !
It did the trick - this light and breezy romance was delightful as a romcom. Yes, the heroine was a little gullible and the hero is a little possessive but I guess it all works in romance world as part of the fun escapist story, there were parts were I had to suspend belief but I guess that goes without saying when reading paranormal romance … it was a fun kickoff to fall !

This book is super cheesy, cutesy, and full of insta love. I couldn't connect to any of the characters and found myself not caring about what happened next. I stopped at 30%.

More "Witch Please", please...

This was an incredibly brilliant read... filled with romance, great humor, and that small town "everybody knows your business" coziness, which I love so much.

With "Witch Please" by Ann Aguirre, you get two stories in one.
The obvious romantic plot between the baker, Titus, and the witch, Danica - both of them notorious unlucky in love, until.... you get it ;-)
The deeper story is the Danica's witching family insisting that she marry another witch and thus keeping the bloodline pure. (Basically, this can be translated into a type of Nazism, right??). But here it is up to Danica to figure out if she has the strength to stand up to her family and claim her right to choose her own way of life. And will she lose everything if she does?

The story is told with humor and dripping romance, and oh my gosh, I really loved this book... It was almost like reading a sexier edition of something resembling "the Gilmore Girls".

I can't wait for the next one coming in 2022.

A huge thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the digital review copy!

I was looking forward to this book, my first witchy-read for the fall season. I had to think about my review, because while I appreciated so much of the story, ultimately it was not to my tastes.

The author delivered an adult contemporary romance, with just a sprinkle of supernatural. I loved the beginning and fell right into it. It was cozy and romantic, from the characters to the charm of the town.

There were several times when the plot was slowed with mundane daily events that I think we're meant to give more insight into the characters' lives. I did like the foreshadowing and a major plot point did catch me by surprise.

This adult romance would be enjoyed by those that want to live the daily life of the characters they read about.

3.5⭐️ 4🌶

When I first saw the cover and read the synopsis, I already knew I had to read it because who doesn’t love romcoms with witches and magic?

I loved Danica and her being a witch! It was so interesting to see her live her double life with all the dating and working at Fix-It Witches! I enjoyed the moments she had with not only Titus but with her coven as well with their book clubs and hang outs. I also liked her scenes with Goliath the cat as a cat lover myself!

Titus was such a cute love interest! Not only is he a baker but he’s also a cinnamon roll come to life! He’s sweet, lovable and just plain adorable! (I love how he’s nicknamed as Cinnamon Man!) I loved how much he unapologetically simped for Danica, it was refreshing to read about an emotionally vulnerable male lead. I also liked how openly he talked about being bisexual which gave me more reasons to love him!

I was immediately on board with the romance in this especially with how strong the chemistry was between Danica and Titus from the beginning! It was almost insta-lovey but it worked well with me wanting a fast-paced read. It definitely wasn’t an easy feat having a witch and human relationship so there were a few bumps in the road before they had a fully established relationship which was fun anyway. The forbidden and passionate feel I got from their moments together were so entertaining and deliciously steamy! I also liked that I had a good laugh every and now then from their cute banter!

As for the side characters, I only really loved Maya and her necessary meddling in the main couple’s relationship! As for the others, they had their not so good moments. Both main leads has their own family issues to sort out which added to the conflict but ultimately, Danica’s grandma annoyed me to no end! She was manipulative and a liar. As for Clem, she was supposed to be this best friend character for Danica but there were times when I felt that she was too against her that she may have added more fire to the ongoing conflict. I also couldn’t care less for Titus’s family as well.

The magic system was very interesting though especially with the different type of witches and how they cast spells using the grimoire and other rules they had! It was satisfyingly magical and witchy in the best ways!

I guess my issue with this book had to do mostly with the writing. It wasn’t my favorite and it just didn’t feel as immersive as I wished. I think the POVs just focused too much describing mundane tasks and voicing out inner thoughts that there were times when I unintentionally gloss over the words. I also didn’t like how it didn’t feel as cohesive as there were moments when it just jumps from one scene to another.

At this point, I’m still super excited for the next book especially with the whole witch and witch hunter romance that I’m intrigued to read more about!

Overall, I enjoyed this witchy romcom! It had me laughing, swooning and just feeling all magical! I highly recommend this if you love reading about witches and yummy pastries!

I really loved this one! I think this is the first time I have read a romcom with a witch in it. It was definitely different, but a good different! I loved how this focused on a little witchiness and a whole lot of romance. It was steamy and super cute. Overall, I really loved this one!

It started off with some Hallmark movie vibes but honestly by the end I was skimming just to get through it. The dialogue felt stiff and the characters felt very one-dimensional.

I wanted to love this because who doesn't want a witch rom-com, but it really felt flat.

I thought this book was a pretty cute read overall. There were some tense family dynamics, and an internal push and pull when it came to Danica following her heart or following family traditions. Her meddling, overpowering Gram wanted Danica to never stray from her magical bloodline. Dating a mundane, according to Gram, would be the ultimate betrayal to the long line of Waterhouse witches. Danica never thought she would be pulled, so strongly, in two different directions until she met Titus and the sparks flew. Could a witch and a mundane find true love? Is that even what she wanted? Navigating this unchartered territory was a surprise and a struggle for Danica, and an enjoyable storyline for a reader.

The only thing I disliked was the fact that Titus was bi. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a HUGE fan of all kinds of representation in books, but this time it didn’t feel natural to me. It almost felt like it was just thrown in there to appeal to more readers and make the book seem more diverse. There was one line, in particular, that I found pretty cringe. I could have done without this aspect because it didn’t feel authentic or properly portrayed. With this opinion aside, it was an enjoyable read.

I included this book in a 3 release feature:

3 fun, witchy reads releasing this September:

The Orphan Witch by Paige Crutcher
The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling
Witch Please by Ann Aguirre

I always want to love witchy reads and there were also comparisons to Gilmore Girls and Hocus Pocus being thrown around on some of these pitches so I was full of anticipation. Unfortunately, I didn't LOVE any of them. I am recommending The Ex Hex if you're looking for cute/funny and Orphan Witch if you're looking for a read to pull at your heartstrings. Witch Please is not making my recommendation list. It was awkward and the male main character is cringe-y.

I've got several other witchy reads on my Sept/Oct TBR that I have high hopes for. What witchy reads are on your TBR?

This was a sweet, campy rom-com for the most part. I enjoyed the premise, and things about each character.
But, there were parts of this story that didn't work as well for me.
Titus was WAY TO FAST on the "I'm going to marry her and have 2-5 kids with her" for me to be fully comfortable with him. Yes, we know he's awkward in love. But this, as well as some other behavior, was weirdly possessive, and just didn't quite sit right with me. The redeeming thing about him other than his cooking, was being a bisexual virgin hero.
Danica was great, with the one exception of being a complete doormat to her grandmother. I get "respecting your elders" and everything, but that does not mean you don't set boundaries with family.
The chemistry between them was good. It is definitely insta-attraction, but over time does develop nicely. Their reasons for staying apart felt really kind of lame, and just there for the sake of having a plot.
I know I sound like I am being harsh. I honestly would pick up another book by this author. This one just didn't quite hit the mark for me.

I'm a huge Ann Aguirre fan starting with the Sirantha Jax series. Having recently read her Ars Numina series, I was not sure what to expect with this frothy, yet sexy Rom Com. It's such a change of pace, but I absolutely adored it! Witch Please is so charming, sweet, touching, and oh so hot.

Danica Waterhouse is a techno fix it witch who has an meet cute with mundane baker Tyson when his oven breaks. He's absolutely perfect, except he's not a witch and there's the Waterhouse Curse. If Danica pursues a relationship with a non magical, she will lose her powers. That sets up a truly awful choice because her heart says Tyson could be the one. Throw in a shady grandmother, a witch hunter, and a disapproving best friend/cousin, plus suddenly fritzy magic and Danica is lost. Tyson, meanwhile, has had truly awful luck with love and he's afraid he'll be disappointed once again. Witch Please was a such a wonderful ride. I cannot wait for the next book which sets up an unlikely romance for Danica's prickly cousin, Clem.

I loved the Dual POV because it gave so much insight into Tyson, truly a new fave book boyfriend!

This bewitched me!
A charming romance about a modern witch and a baker. Danica and Titus were too adorable for words! Seeing them crush on each other in the beginning and watching their relationship blossom kept a smile on my face.
I was really reminded of Bewitched with the relationship drama between a witch and a mundane, and all the shenanigans that come with that. The humor was reminiscent of Gilmore Girls (witty and sweet).
I would definitely give Witch Please two thumbs up.

A magical, sexy, fun romp of a read! I really enjoyed the character's chemistry, the queer representation, the quirky side characters, the witty banter and the laugh out loud moments. The book dragged on a bit at the end and could have been shorter. I loved the magical elements and wanted more of them!

Thanks to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an E-ARC!

This was so so cute and I loved the fall vibes. Danica and her friends were so fun and I really enjoyed the support they gave each other. The romance was so good as well and Titus is incredible. The mention of all the different baked goods made me want to be in the story so badly. This wasn't only a story of romance, but one of family bonding, great friendships and accepting yourself for things you can't change. It was super light hearted and fun and I can't wait to read the other books in the series. Danica was also such a BOSS and I loved her personality and how she stood up for herself and decided to go after what she really wanted instead of what was expected of her. Great read and I liked all the humor and baking involved.

In addition to the links below, I promoted the book on my instagram stories on Aug 20 and 27

-----------------
A sweet and light story with some cool witches!
.
Danica and her cousin run the best repair shop in town…with a little help from Danica’s magic. Witches here must stay hidden, because you never know when non-witches (“mundanes”) are going to go all Salem on them. Plus, Danica’s grandmother / mentor pointed out that witches who marry mundanes lose their power.
.
As the book opens, Danica and her cousin Clem have made a pact to have fun, keep their hearts private, and guard their power like dragons. Yeah, we know how that is going to turn out…
.
Meanwhile, Titus runs the local bakery and takes care of his teenage sister. He’s a sweetheart, and also happens to be bisexual and demisexual. (The word demisexual isn’t used on page but the author confirmed when I asked.)
.
There’s some threat of danger as a witch hunter has come to town, and some angst with Titus’ father and stepfamily, but most of the conflict here is Danica’s dilemma of magic or love, and some less-than-ideal but realistic lack of communication. Once the communication problem is solved, her mom’s solution to the dilemma part is just fantastic. Made me laugh out loud.
.
There’s a whole setup for future books, so we have that to look forward to, also.
