I struggled to read past the first few pages of this. It didn't grab my attention, and I found I couldn't be bothered persisting with the story.

This was a really different and thought-provoking collection of short stories.

The one theme all 12 stories have in common is obviously love. Where it is found, how it is expressed and who is experiencing it. Some of the stories were a miss for me personally as I either didn't relate to them or couldn't connect with them. The remainder on the other hand I really enjoyed.

In particular, the stories set in a futuristic/alternate setting really stood out for me. The way people can be made to live such an autonomous life but somehow love seeps through. I found this to be a really significant message. I also thought there were some other important messages within some of the stories about freedom and liberty.

In terms of reading, a few of the stories were a little hard to follow and things like setting or the p.o.v were hard to pick up on. For short stories, some of them were also somewhat long and could have ended at particular points making the remainder of the story not necessary. Although I did still enjoy some of those endings.
