Very grateful to the author and publisher for allowing me to read an ARC of this novel. I absolutely loved it. Pretty sure my heart broke 1o times reading it. A beautiful and heartwarming story of love, loss, grief and hope. The main character loses her mother during a freak storm and years later also loses her daughter in a tragic accident. How do you go on from that ? She is angry, sad and has many questions. Her life changes in many unexpected ways . Will she find the answers she needs to accept and move on ? This book is an emotional roller coaster ride and I can't recommend it enough. (less)

A beautifully written book that you will not want to put down. The Passing Storm is an intimate story of the past and how the past and the present collide. What I loved was the hope that came out of letting people in and healing those that were damaged. Rae, Conner, Quinn, and Griffin were such amazing characters. A great read.

Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of the book. This is my honest review.

This is a novel about forgiveness, of yourself and others. Christine Nolfi, the author has the unique ability to take difficult painful emotions and bring them closer to the spotlight without giving the reader that pain.
I found myself completely invested in Rae, and her father Conner as they came to terms with the past, showed they were human when dealing with the present; and found ways to look to a future.
I related to Rae easily, a person who was at times led by her emotions, and would then need to back track as her perception and understanding of others, changed.
At points through the book, key characters were at times the protagonist, other times, the good guy. This way of showing people in novels is unusual and made each person relatable and human.
This novel brings the readers feelings to the surface, there were times when I found myself nodding in agreement at a passage of text, not an everyday occurrence.
A book of secrets, not the usual small town secrets, individual secrets that hurt each person differently, but have fine, near invisible threads of connection.
A book for anyone who has come through their own storms in life and recognises that it is possible to get through it.

The Passing Storm is the perfect title for this book. We’ve all encountered storms in our lives - the trick is overcoming them and moving on. This is a wonderful story which got my attention right from the get go. It runs deep with emotions.....love, hate, sadness, happiness, depression, abandonment and joy. It begs the question - are we truly able to forgive others, as well as ourselves? How do we overcome and regain all that we lost while we were building up resentments? It’s a very intriguing, heartwarming and bittersweet story with great character development. I won’t reveal any details so as not to spoil this wonderful read, but definitely encourage everyone to get their hands on this book.

I absolutely loved this book. The main characters were all so strong, each in his/her own way. The story developed beautifully, and absolutely gripped me. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, the author would wow me with another curve in the road! Nothing was how I planned it, and that is what I really love about this book. It is simply not predictable. I fell in love with Quinn….. what an old soul he is at just 18. There is nothing about this book that I didn’t just love. I highly recommend this beautifully written novel. Thank you to the author and Net Galley for an Arc. All opinions are my own.

A beautiful, deeply intense novel that I loved!
What is a passing storm?
It is the turmoil and heartbreak in our lives that we must somehow learn to face.
It is how we "choose" to move forward with our lives..
This is the journey of Rae Langdon and her family and the options they take.
The Langdon's live on their farm and certainly need help. They have lived through some difficult times on their homestead over the years.

Rae meets Quinn, a young man who needs refuge from an unsafe home life.
Rae and her Dad, Connor, invite him into the home. Quinn is an amazing help, as Rae and Connor are to Quinn in so many ways.

However, there are so many painful, deep secrets that need to be shared between them all to clear the air from years ago and forgive.
Can each person overcome the guilt, heartbreak, fear, hate and anger to survive the storms of the past and progress on to the future?
This is definitely a story we can all use now!
My favorite quote of this book: "Hope lights the way." It's definitely a story we can all use now!

The Passing Storm takes a look into small-town life and what can happen when everybody knows each other. A storm becomes a metaphor for many different parts of Rae's life and how they have affected her differently. What's the story about her mom? Who is this random kid who keeps trespassing? What really happened that night? And what if....just what if Rae decides to share some of her life with others? Letting people in doesn't always mean they'll hurt you...Does it?

This book explores relationships on all levels; parent-child, friend, romantic, old-flame, friends, frenemies....They're all important and they all take some attention.

With every storm comes a new day. A new beginning and a chance for healing. Rae has been through storms before. Starting with the White Hurricane that took her mother. But, like with any storm, it will pass and bring hope. Rae needs hope and a chance to break through the grief that has overwhelmed her. Shefinds hope and a chance to begin again in the unlikely form of Quinn. The boy that also needs hope and someone to care. As the two come together they learn how to continue on. Learning how to trust and to love again. Rae learns things about her daughter that she never knew and Quinn finds the safety and security of a loving family. Bringing the past full circle .

Beautifully written with amazing characters that are strong and easy to love. An amazing story that will leave you believing in hope. I love Christine's characters . There is always so much depth to them. From the primary characters to the secondary ones, they are easy to fall in love with. I absolutely loved this book.

The Passing Storm is a heart tugging story about life and the choices we make. The “storms” that blow into our lives to teach us lessons at times or help move us forward. Love, family and perseverance are woven throughout the book. I loved everything about this story, the setting, and the characters, and cried happy tears at the end. Love, family and perseverance are woven throughout the book. Don’t pass by this book!

The Passing Storm is an intimate look into the storm of emotions told mainly thru the eyes, thoughts and feelings of Rae, the main character. This is truly a beautiful, heartfelt story of hope and healing in those that have been buffeted by the "storm" and it's outcomes thruout the years following. The friendships, love, caring and misunderstandings that come with living in a small town add to the mix. Can Rae finally allow others in and accept that she does not have to go it "alone"? No spoilers from me.
Thank you Christine Nolfi, the publishers and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for my personal opinion

The Passing Storm...what a great title for this book. In much the same way that a storm buffets nature, structures, and sometimes our very souls, these characters' lives were also affected, yet like a storm when it passes, a new day dawns for those willing to welcome it.

No matter what I say, it's not going to convey the beautiful and skillful layering of the multi-faceted characters, their pasts, presents, and what we can glimpse of, or hope for, their futures. Many were deeply flawed, as humans are, but some were embracing growth and change, almost against their will, which made me care for them even more. I will say that in the beginning I had a strong dislike of Rae, but the author completely turned my opinion around by about 25% of the way through the book. I just had to go on the journey with Rae, accept my dislike, and keep reading. I'm glad I did.

This book deals with tough subjects very well and slowly teases out the secrets held close and shelved for another day, while giving us glimpses of hope on the horizon for reconciliation, new beginnings, and an understanding that what one thinks happened isn't always reality.

If you want a book that will make you think and feel, make you realize that one person's perception of a situation isn't always correct, and give you a large dose of hope for change, this is the book. Preorder it, borrow it from the library or a friend, but you will want to dive into The Passing Storm. You will probably have a solid book hangover, but that can't be helped if you want to fully enjoy the emotion filled journey that is The Passing Storm.

I am grateful to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for providing an ARC at my request. All thoughts in this review are my own and given so that others do not miss this wonderful read.
