Eve Calder bakes up quite a mystery in A TALE OF TWO COOKIES. This book had a good pace that kept me interested throughout. Likable characters, an interesting plot, and more twists & turns than chocolate chips in a cookie, you won't want to put this delicious mystery down.

A Tale of Two Cookies is the third book in A Cookie House Mystery series by Eve Calder. I had not read the previous books (but I will be very soon!), but found this to be very easy to read as a standalone mystery.

I thought this was such a fun cozy mystery! The story was great, the mystery was fascinating and I loved the characters! Plus, I loved the bakery theme!

I look forward to reading the other books in the series and recommend this to all cozy fans!

I'm so grateful to Eve Calder, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.

Loving this series! In book three, A Tale of Two Cookies, Kate McGuire is starting to feel more at home in Coral Cay. Her old friend, Desiree has come to Coral Cay to get married to a well-known environmentalist. On the wedding day, the groom is nowhere to be found. No one, except Desiree and Kate, believe that something bad has happened to him. In fact, some people begin to doubt there ever was a wedding to take place and the groom took off with cold feet.
Fast-paced and adventurous, this book will have you guessing to the end as to what actually took place. Highly recommended for mystery lovers.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for a digital ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. A copy of this review can be found on my Goodreads page.

She is the junior partner of the cookie house bakery, which is known for her cookies. When Kate's old friend Desiree, arrives in Coral Cay announcing her wedding to Judson, they seem perfect for each other. The morning of the wedding, Judson disappears with no explanation, so Kate vows to find him. This was a great story, even though I guessed the bad person early on. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is one of my favorite cozy series. I love the humor the author infuses into her charcters in this series. I highly recommend the entire series. .Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher.

A Tale of Two Cookies by Eve Calder is the 3rd A Cookie House Mystery. This is fun series with great charcters that are fun to read about. Our protagnist Kate lives in Coral Cay Florida and the Florida lifestyle figures in largely to this series. Kate is now part-owner in The Cookie House with the curmudgeon owner Sam Hepplewhite. He allows her to create her delectable cookies and desserts. The cookie descriptions are mouth watering and will have every reader busy baking in their own kitchens.

The characters are well crafted to the story. The setting of Florida is fun to read about. The mystery was suspenseful enough to keep me guessing throughout .I love how Kate finds clues and includes her friends in her investigations. A delight to read and I look forward to the next in series.

A Tale of Two Cookies by Eve Calder is the 3rd A Cookie House Mystery. It can be read as a standalone for those new to the series. This is an engaging cozy mystery set in Coral Cay, Florida. Kate McGuire is part-owner in The Cookie House where she whips up delectable cookies with Sam Hepplewhite. There is a delightful cast of secondary characters that includes Maxi and Kate’s dog, Oliver. The characters are well-rounded, friendly, and relatable. There are vivid descriptions of Coral Cay, the beach, and the various cookies. It allows readers to envision they are on lounging on the beach with a good book and a bag of fresh baked cookies from The Cookie House. The mystery was clever for a cozy mystery. I did arrive at the solution early on, but it was fun following Kate’s investigation to the resolution. There was a good wrap up of the crime. I like it when all loose ends are tied up. I did feel the story was a tad long (fifty-chapters). A little editing would not have been remiss. The ending of A Tale of Two Cookies is one that will leave readers smiling. A Tale of Two Cookies is a sweet treat with scrumptious cookies, a gone groom, a wrecked wedding, a bothered bride, threatened turtles, a beautiful beach, and a pushy photographer.

In this humorous cozy mystery from the Cookie House series, Kate McGuire, a pastry chef, is enjoying her life on Coral Cay, Fla. She is the junior partner in the bakery, so she is mostly baking cookies, cakes and whatever.
Her friend Desiree, along with her fiance, Judson, have come to the island and decided to go ahead and get married. Judson says he’ll take care of most of the arrangements for their beach wedding. All Desiree has to do is get her dress.
When Judson disappears the night before the wedding, Desiree is left at the altar, but she has faith in Judson. She is sure something has happened to him, and it’s not cold feet. Judson, an environmentalist, has expressed concern about something he spotted when they were out on a boat. Desiree feels that someone has kidnapped him.
Kate agrees, so she and her friends start asking questions.
So many of these cozy mystery series feature folks baking and cooking. Good thing I’m too lazy to actually make the recipes shared at the end!

Although this is the third book in the series, I was able to jump right in without having read the first two books. I will go back and read the first two though because I really enjoyed this one. I loved the setting, the main characters and how unique the mystery was! The story definitely kept me engaged and guessing until the end. The book did not turn out the way I thought it was going to go. Overall I really enjoyed this one and am looking forward to reading the first two books.

This is the third book in the A Cookie House mystery series by Eve Calder.

This was a fun and fascinating book to follow.

Kate’s friend is getting married on the beach but when the groom doesn’t show for the wedding, they begin to think something may haver happened to him. There are all kinds of twists and turns in this that you won’t see coming. I was surprised so many times reading this that I couldn’t figure out what was really going on. It was almost as if the bride was being catfished since her opinion of the groom and his motivations didn’t go along the same thoughts as his business parter and kids.

Well-plotterd, well cast and filled with all the things I like to follow in a mystery story. I definitely recommend this one highly.

Definitely pick this up if you are a cozy mystery lover.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title. Opinions are completely my own.

This is a huge improvement over the 1st book in the series. First, missing groom - how fun is that plot?! Plus, this book moved much faster - the 1st one just dragged on forever and I'm surprised I finished it. But it was good enough that I figured I'd give this book another chance when I saw it pop up on netGalley and I'm so glad I did.

A Tale of Two Cookies by Even Calder is a cozy to definitely read. Kate has relocated from Manhattan to Coral Cay, Florida, and has never looked back. She is now part owner of a bakery and although it was an uphill struggle, Sam the other owner, has agreed to sell more than bread. That's where Kate comes in. Her friend, Desiree, has called to say she has taken early retirement and is getting married...in Coral Cay. Everyone is invited. The wedding is on the beach, barefoot. They are all waiting...finally the bride arrives. There had been a mix-up with the car. But no groom; no officiant. They wait, and wait. Nothing. They check on Judd's boat, which is where he spent the night. No Judd. Now everyone is worried. Desiree most of all. She thinks he's been kidnapped. There are all kinds of conflicting stories: he was a womanizer; they had fought and called it off; he was in love with someone else; and on and on. Desiree held firm. He had been kidnapped. She would wait. His credit card was cut off. She could not stay at the resort. She moved. The press found her. They hounded her. She moved again. They found her again. She never lost faith.

Finally, they found a clue: his ring. He never took it off. Blood on a rock. All in a protected bay. They searched. No more clues. Kate is a steadfast friend, no matter who the other half is. She believed in Desiree. She had seen them together. He loved her. Kate was certain. That made all her Coral Cay friends certain, too. They helped. They put together a timeline. They searched for clues. It was an intriguing mystery, one that had the reader on the edge of their seat much of the time. It is so good to see people believe in one another, even in the face of information that questions everything. It is a story of love and stubborness. It was a terrific read.

I was invited to read a free e-ARC of A Tale of Two Cookies by Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #netgalley #ataleoftwocookies

On my return to this series, thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press, we find Kate settling in more to life on the island. The characters continue to develop and the setting is as stunning as ever. I just struggled to get invested into the mystery aspect this time around. Not sure if it was a current reading slump or just a disconnect, but I plan to continue on and hopefully book four swings it back for me.

There’s nothing a sweet, freshly baked cookie from the Cookie House cannot solve, but when a destination wedding goes awry, sweet cookies will have to take on a mystery, because love must triumph overall. This is the third book in series in A Cookie House Mystery by Eve Calder.

The beautiful beach of the Florida island, Coral Cay (pronounced like key) is about to be the wedding destination of Kate McGuire’s friend, Desiree Goldsmith and her future husband Judson Cooper, a celebrity marine biologist. A couple over-the-moon in love, they cannot wait to get married among family and friends in their intimate beach wedding ceremony. But things don’t exactly go as planned and when the groom is a no-show and goes missing, all signs point to Desiree and foul play. Now, Kate must find a way to help her friend Desiree and prove to everyone that Desiree and Judson’s love was real. Now, it’s a race against time, but when everyone doubts you and when the odds are against you, it’ll take a village to solve this mystery.

This story had a bit of a rocky start. This is the first book for me in this series and I had bit of a difficult time getting to understand and know the characters and the setting. As the story progressed, it was really pleasant to visit with these characters at their wonderful island, where everyone seems to live contently and happy. There was a bit of editorial mishaps, but overall, the story was good and engaging. The mystery had excellent progression and just enough development to keep you on suspense.

The characters in this book were all wonderful. I really like the main character Kate McGuire, who is a new transplant to the island and thus still learning her way around and still getting to know the characters around her. Her tenacity to help her friend Desiree, shows her great character and her personality is positive and ensuring. The supportive characters had great chemistry with Kate, and they were essential in the resolution of the mystery. The antagonist in this story was cleverly written and there were plenty of unscrupulous characters throughout the mystery.

An enjoyable mystery with a happy resolution and a great example of perseverance.

Title: A Tale of Two Cookies
Author: Eve Calder
Genre: Cozy mystery
Rating: 4.0 out of 5

Pastry chef Kate McGuire is loving life on the laid-back island of Coral Cay, Florida. As junior partner in a bakery renowned for luscious desserts--especially her cookies--life is pretty sweet. So when an old friend arrives and announces a spur-of-the-moment beach wedding, that's just the icing on the wedding cake.

But the groom vanishes right as a television crew descends on the town to film a hot, new realty show. Is there a connection? Is her friend Desiree somehow involved? Or did groom Judson simply get cold feet? The bride and groom were paired better than warm cookies and cold milk, so Kate doesn't buy it.

As the show's cast runs amok on the island and the investigation into Judson's disappearance heats up, Kate and her pal Maxi, along with town dog Oliver, will brave the rambunctious world of reality TV and a wedding weekend gone awry, in an all-out effort to find the missing groom.

Warning: do not read this if you’re trying to give up sugar or carbs! Because dang, the cookies and cakes described in this book sound fantastic.

This was a quick, fun read. I’ve really enjoyed this series so far and can’t wait to read more. The quaint tropical setting is great, and the characters are quirky and memorable—even the dog. I honestly had no idea who the culprit was until the big reveal, and that made this even more fun. I also like that, three books into this series, we’re not already emmeshed in a romance, which is pretty common for cozy mysteries. I’m not opposed to that, but it’s nice to read a series that isn’t focused around that.

Eve Calder is from Florida. A Tale of Two Cookies is her newest novel.

In this third entry in the Cookie House cozy mystery series, Kate McGuire-pastery chef and now partner in The Cookie House-must help a friend find her missing groom, even if his family and the media are all saying there was never actually a wedding planned. At the same time, a reality show is filming in a house with a lot of pleasant and unpleasant memories.

Honestly, what is there not to love about this series? There's colorful and caring characters, a vibrant setting, an adorable dog, delicious sounding cookies, and a mystery that always gets solved by the end of the book. The world of Coral Cay is one you will want to keep visiting-just make sure you have some cookies nearby, because you will definitely have a craving!
