This book gives an insight to Sara Gelbard's inner thoughts as she goes through a transformative emotional quest. It takes the reader on a journey, starting from the author's birthplace - a collective-minded kibbutz, which leaves the small child deprived of much-needed individual attention. We follow the adult as well as the inner child of the author along to a busy New York life oriented towards work and money, and to peaceful Punta in Uruguay where she has made her home with husband Carlos. It is interesting to read how the author finds peace with their childhood experiences and environment through creative activities such as writing this book and walking her dog. At times, the description of the emotional states feels slightly repetitive.
