I think that this one was her getting into her groove. It was extremely similar to the first book, but Tristan didn't hate Isabella as much as the last couple, which was interesting because he had been more "wronged" by her father than in the last book.
The twist was basically the same from the last book and there was very little action, mostly just smut.

My second read from Faith Summers and it only gets better! Tristan definitely caught my attention in the previous book in this series. I wanted to know more about his heartbreaking past. And the need for vengeance turned out to be the perfect plot for his story! Dark Captor is full of suspense and mafia goodness. It’s filled with danger and contradicting emotions. The romance between characters was touching, compelling and brilliantly delivered!

I enjoyed this second book a lot better than the first one. The lead female character, Isabella is a lot more level headed and wasn't as naive and helpless as Emilia was in the first book. I was more drawn in to this story and hooked on it's plot as the book progressed.

I didn't realize when I requested this book that it was the 2nd book in the series. I believe you definitely have to read the first book before you start this one. I was lost and confused and had to go back and read the 1st book.

Tristan will draw you into this story from the very beginning. His grief and pain are too devastating to be ignored. The beginning and the end of his happiness piercing through your heart as well. His whole world, torn to pieces lies at his feet. The loss is agonizing, everything shatters and dies inside him, but one thing….his desire for blood, and his desire for revenge…the culprit must pay, no matter what.

I really enjoyed this book and series and can't wait for book 3!

After enjoying Ruthless prince, I was very curious to see the next move of the D' Agostino brothers.

After the betrayal and the hit on their father, Massimo and his brothers are trying to find the one who ordered the attack.

They believe Mortimer Viggo is behind the attack. And probably he is also behind the murder of Tristan's wife six years earlier. When Dominic, the youngest D' Agostino brother finds out that Mortimer has a daughter, they see the opportunity to draw mortimer out: kidnap the Brat u a princess and demand Viggo's life for hers. So Tristan kidnaps Isabella Viggo and hides her on his secluded island. But Isabella may actually hate her father more than Tristan; all her life she has been used as a pawn in her father's games. And just because she is Viggo's daughter didn't mean she got a preferred treatment. No, Isabella got her share of punishments and torturing. The worst has been made a spectator of the brutal murder of her lover by Dmitri, her father's right hand. The same brute she will be forced to marry in a few months time.

So, her kidnapping feels like freedom to her. Slowly Tristan and Isabella are growing a bond, because of their mutual need of revenge. Sparks are flying and with every page turn, there are new developments in this dark world. While Massimo and Tristan are trying to understand who are allies and who are foes in the mafia world, we see Dominic slowly drift apart. I do hope that he gets his happy ending in the next part of the series. So, of course, five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Keep an eye out for Wicked Liar!

Captivating and wickedly thrilling with the suspense ride.

Tristan is after revenge for his late wife’s death and his fathers. But to get even, he steals the one thing that he thinks will be in his favor... the devils daughter. What he doesn’t realize is she hates the devil just as much as he does.

”He is my dark captor, but he might just be my dark knight too.”

I liked how the author wrote Isabella’s character and her traumatic story. The thrill of her nightmares and how that led to the overall “mystery” ending. Tristan, the middle brother was protective and wanted retribution but through the ups and downs of the master plan he found love again, and how the author embellished that trait was great to see.

Like the first novel, I didn’t care for the amount of “background fluff” within the chapters. I skimmed a lot - to get over the internal monologues that went on and on. Otherwise, it held my attention.

OMG I really like this mafia romance.
We get to see how the hero seeks revenge by kidnapping the daughter of the man who kill his wife.
I loved how the heroine knew the how bad her father was and also had her own trauma.
Looking foward for the next book!

ARC received for review

This one picks up right where book one ends. You don't need to read the first one to enjoy this one, but it might help.

This one was not as good as the first one. It was slow in parts and lacked a lot of the heat of the first one. Plus the third brother is really ticking me off and so is Candace (I still don't like her). And there's still more bad guys, plus "The King" to find. Who sent that letter?

This is book two in a dark mafia series. It is a liability to fall in love in this world especially when its your enemies daughter. He tries to keep away from her but she is nothing like he could ever expect. He wasn't prepared to feel things for her. But will he lose her before they have a chance?

Tristan has lost so much. I left so so bad for him. He just wanted revenge for the women he loved. But isabella is just a pion for her dad. And the kidnapping did her more good then bad. She got away from her fianceé for a while. When you start this story its hard to stop, you just want to keep reading. Tristan and Isabella have such a hot conection. It get real hot real soon. It was a amazing story i can't wait to read the last one!

Great read. Tristian is the ultimate tragic hero, you feel so bad for him that it makes it easier to forgive the wrongs he does. Poor Isabella never had a chance, life really gave her big fat lemons. This story was really good just maybe a bit more predictable than the first one, still if you like mafia romance a great read.

DNF @ 36%.... so I enjoyed Massimo but Tristan just confused me. So every page we turn he is talking about how bad he is but I still think Dmitri is so much worse. So it complicates and makes Tristans character look silly.
Just hard to get into a book when it seems like he’s already soft on Isabella. Doesn’t feel dark.
Netgalley makes us rate just DNF.

Just like my review for the first book in this series, this is a similar mafia romance story line with a plot twist towards the end. This is Tristan’s story with Isabella.

We don’t really read about the first couple at all in this book. Just the brothers getting together and plotting taking down a bad guy, while his daughter is being kept hostage on an island and she is kind of having the time of her life, because she’s “free”.

I received this ebook copy from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Tristan is still not over the murder of his wife. Now that he knows who arranged the murder he is bound to get to him. He kidnaps Isabella thinking that she knows where her father is. Plans change and love happens. Isabella actually comes up with a plan to get her father and help Tristan.

I received this alone with #1, assuming I’d love them and be able to read them in totality and give proper reviews. But, I DNF’s #1 after about 30 pages and so can’t properly review this book.

Intense, dark and suspenseful. Just like the first novel in the series. Can be read as a standalone because everything is explained but would be more enjoyable if you have knowledge from the first book. A great follow up to the first book. Both characters have been through a lot and it's nice to see they grow together. A great read!

Enemies to lovers, revenge, and survival. Tristian is trying to get revenge against the man who brutally murdered his wife and the opportunity has finally come in the form of that man’s daughter Isabella, only she doesn’t appear to be what she seems. Isabella has been abused her entire life, living in fear, after watching her father murder her mother and murder the love of her life Isabella is just trying to survive, except suddenly her father has announced she will be forced to marry the man her father had beat her lover to death. She suddenly runs into Tristian, who she assumes is just a friendly stranger but suddenly she finds he’s kidnapped her and demands to know her father’s location. Too bad she doesn’t know and now she’s stuck in the hands of another monster. Isabella and Tristian have to work out what is really happening and who the real monster is. There is a traitor among them and now they have to find a way to survive while dealing with the growing feelings between the two.

This was a continuation of the first story, but could be read as a stand alone. It was an overall good read and I enjoyed getting to know both characters. I really liked Isabella as a character, she was dealing with a lot and just trying to find some sense of freedom from the cage that surrounded her. The romance was fairly sweet between the two as they both are recovering from the ghosts of their pasts and lost loves.

*Thanks Netgalley and Bliss Romance Publishing for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*
