This was a great book. I loved the illustrations and their pairing with simple text to engage readers. I've recommended this one for several classrooms.

Big Truths Bible Storybook is a lovely illustrated and well written book that will help teach children and families about stories that are in the Bible. There are 52 Bible Stories that are in the book and at the end of each story there are questions that make the reader think about what they had just read. I believe this would be a great book to use as part of a Family Devotion. I also believe it would be a great tool to use in Children's Ministry and would be great in aiding a child in their walk with Jesus. I will definitely tell others about this book! Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. I loved this book! (This review is also on GoodReads.)

Big Truths Bible Storybook
by Aaron Armstrong
Back of the Book: “What is truth? Can we make up our own truth? In the Big Truths Bible Storybook, readers ages 6 to 10 will learn that God’s Word is the source of all truth. They'll find 52 stories each tied to a big truth found in the Bible. For example, through Joseph's story, kids will see that God is in control of everything in heaven and on earth. Through David's story, they'll learn that grace is when God gives us something good even when we don't deserve it.
The big truths of God's Word can sometimes be deep and difficult, but the Big Truths Bible Storybook makes them relatable to young readers through simple storytelling, beautiful artwork, discussion questions, and more! After reading this book, kids will better understand that God's Word can be trusted, and His truths will last forever.”
Impressions: This was a cute Bible story option.
The sections were in chronological order of the Bible with this layout and structure:
-2 pages of explanation and commentary on the Bible passage (You need to look up to read outside of book)
- Big Truth at the end that summarizes a truth from the story (Some truths were repeated twice between sections)
- Big Questions provided 2 questions and one prayer prompt generally to conclude the section
I would recommend 20-30 minutes to read the Bible passage, commentary, and “Big Truth” as well as time to discuss or journal from the “Big Questions” and pray. My boys are 5 and 9 years old (almost 6 and 10 if you ask them…). They were familiar with all of the stories and enjoyed the pictures but did not have a 20-30 minute attention span to appreciate the “Big Truths” and “Big Questions” following all that reading. This was a very cute Bible storybook however and if you are in the market for a special gift I would recommend this for school-aged kids as a first Bible storybook accompanied with a full Bible to read it with.
I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review shared here.

Aaron Armstrong has written a book that is colorful enough for children and detailed enough for an adult audience. The book is well-suited for family devotions. In seminary it was suggested that those of us not brought up with a substantial Christian background take the summer before beginning our studies to read a children’s story Bible. At the same time it could serve as a primer on theology.

The book is divided into 52 weekly stories chosen from both the Old Testament and the New Testament (Genesis to Revelations). Each entry consists of two to four pages of commentary and one page of helpful and thoughtful discussion questions. The book concludes with a two page glossary and a two page summary of the “Big Truths” presented within the book and suggested memory verses for each concept discussed within the book.

Whether used for family devotions, personal devotions, preparation for more formal education, or a discipling program with a new believer, the book gets five stars.
