NORMAN IS SO CUTE. The kids loved this book. We loved this book. It's such a great book to bring out and read with the pre-school class after Covid (and kids having trouble with meeting new people after being quarantined).

The first day of school is scary and Norman is nervous. This is a cute little book about taking a chance even when you're scared and making new friends.

Such a sweet little story about overcoming your fears, finding courage in friendship, not judging someone by their appearance, and discovering that it's okay to be shy! The illustrations were precious and my kiddo had a blast looking for Norman on each page because he is quite small. Definitely a book I would recommend to anyone whose child will be embarking on a new journey, whether it be starting daycare/school, going to camp, etc.

I love the adorable and colorful images of little dinosaurs.
The story is perfect for the kids who enter school for the first day or first time, and who are shy.

As the mother of a shy kindergartener, this book is a good one to have on the shelf. It's about a shy little dino who is starting school and how he overcame his fear and nervousness to make friends and ended up having a good time. Plus the illustrations are too cute! This would be a good book for shy kiddos or to have in a kindergarten library.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for.providing me with a review copy.

Such a cute book to help get over your fears! It shows that sometimes friends can help you conquer them too!
The pictures were excellent in this book as well!

I thought that this was an adorable book to introduce children to the going to the first day of school/daycare. I am a therapist and I read it to a child client that was nervous to begin in person school for the first time in a year. He was thoroughly entertained. I loved the illustrations.

I think this would be a cute book to read on the first day of class for younger kids. It introduces shyness which most students feel on the first day so reading a dinosaur book where the character feels the same way could help relieve some of that anxiety.

I especially liked the line that said “my stomach is full of wiggly worms.” Most students at this age don’t understand anxiety yet but this description can help introduce the idea without specifically saying it.

Our main character Norman is rather small and shy so I was happy to see the author introduce another character who was big and shy. I think this helps show students that no matter who you are, big or small, you can be shy and scared of things. I think this could help build confidence in certain kids.

I really liked the illustrations, lots of colors were used and there was always something happening on the page. I like when a lot of things are happening in the pictures because it’s fun to find things hidden, like Norman hiding in different places. I don’t think it was too busy that it was distracting.

This book was cute and to the point and would be a nice read for a child getting ready to enter school.

Norman's first Day at Dino Day Care is a sweet and fun story about overcoming your fears, learning to accept others and how, sometimes, looks can be deceiving. Sean Julian was able to fit such important messages in a book that is easy to read, understand and is certainly enjoyable by both parents and children.

Norman’s First Day at Dino Daycare is a very sweet and cute book with such cute details. I really thought it was something special. I loved the illustrations- Norman’s tiny neck, his clever hiding places, his pebble stacking, and Miss Beak climbing a ladder to get to Norman up a tree. The best part was that Norman’s feelings were validated, and he learned that it’s okay for his shyness to be a part of him. Two thumbs up!

I like the idea the author had, but unfortunately I didn't enjoy the book much at all. It was cute, but missed the mark for me. The illustrations were adorable. :)

This was so cute! The art style, the colours and the characters were all so adorable and eye catching and made this such a perfect little story for kids.

I loved the messages in this. Kids will get to see that being shy is okay but that you can find others like you and find courage together to do scary things. Kids will love this!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Child reviewer says: I liked the book because it was cute and funny. Also, because it can teach a very important lesson: Have courage and let your friends help you. Use your best qualities in a positive way. I give this book 5 stars!

Mom review says: This book is a great, fun way to talk about feelings and how everyone has different qualities about themselves. I love the fact the author uses dinosaurs instead of making the book too real, by using real life children in the illustrations and story line. This helps kids better understand and be more comfortable discussing some “harder” topics, like differences. I also love the illustrations in this book! This book would be the perfect read aloud in a classroom or a great book for parents to read to their children one on one. 5 stars!!

Norman's First Day at Dino Day Care is a sweet book about being nervous and shy when going somewhere new and meeting new people. Normal is a small dino who hides when his emotions become too much until he meets another dino who is larger but also shy. This friendship shows Norman that it's okay to be shy and how to move forward and find joy.

'Norman's First Day at Dino Day Care' is a sweet tale of a little dino with big fears, and how he overcomes those fears and learns he is not alone.

Sean Julian is able to describe social anxiety and shyness with great representation and detail, that I'd suggest this book to people of all ages. Norman and his classmates learn together about 'big fears' and 'little fears' with bright and colorful illustrations that draw you in from the beginning. Norman soon learns that even the biggest dino has fears.

Such a cute story showing that being shy is okay but being brave especially with a friend is amazing

This is such a sweet book, we really enjoyed it. Norman was so endearing, you couldn’t help but like him. I love the way in which it highlighted the strengths that people have and how they are all different but equally as valuable. It’s a really great book and will be very popular among young readers. The illustrations are also another great attraction.

NORMAN’S FIRST DAY AT DINO DAY CARE – SEAN JULIAN
PUBLISHED BY NORTH-SOUTH BOOK INC
This is a story about Norman is a shy, small cute dinosaur and how he on his first day of class he feels and behaves and he also befriends a loud big dinosaur Jake.
The best part of this book is the message it gives. Each individual has its own strength and weakness and according to it – they can work together to create something beautiful and worthwhile.
My 6 year old daughter loved reading it. The ideal age for this book would be 3-5 years (pre-schoolers).
