This was a very short story. The H took matters into her own hands so a bit different. Could have been more satisfying if it had been longer with more back story, build-up and development of characters.

I loved the character interactions in this book, they were amusing and intense. The storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat, and the ending is satisfying.

3 stars for being fine.
I feel like there was something missing in the middle, he alluded to some big secret but was the secret just that he's shy? Probably something to do with his sister that I didn't understand from other books, I'll admit, but the middle just felt like it was missing. I liked them as characters in the lion's den but I felt like they were flatter around their families and I didn't get to know them.

This was a quick and fun novella. There were some steamy scenes but nothing new. The characters were unremarkable.

I liked Rebecca right away. I'm a big fan of a book with a masquerade theme. Rebecca is shy and wants to marry John. John acts like a ladies man but definitely isn't one. They reunite but it's just not enough. Or is it? Good book.

Another good edition to the series. Emily writes well-defined stories with well-developed characters, both main and supporting. This book is no exception. I look forward to future Lyon stories.
Thank you Emily EK Murdoch, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

I'm soooo disappointed by this book, i had high expectations for this one considering that it's my third book by the author, and i fell in love with the previous two, but this one was just bad.
Firstly, the title isn't fitting at all, the guy kept saying he was shy the entire time, he literally couldn't express his love because of his shyness, so what was there to tame??!!
Secondly, he said that he loved Rebecca from the beginning and that she was the only one who managed to own his heart, and yet he went to play this game knowing he is to seduced by a woman!!
Also, the events weren't logical at all, so if you can't tell someone you love him; you just seduce him?? That was quite bizarre.
Honestly, wasn't worth the time.

Sometimes when you want something bad enough you will go to whatever means possible. Rebecca does just that to get John. She is sure he loves her but he is avoiding her. She takes it upon her self to get him to the Lyons Den for a personal masquerade party where she plays the seductress. Once he figures it out his response does not give her hope. Will John accept both sides of Rebecca and claim her as his wife or will he lose her?

Always the Lyon Tamer by Emily E K Murdoch.

A novella about Rebecca Darby who was being courted by John Lennox but he had not offered marriage . Rebecca takes matters into her own hands and approach’s Mrs Dove-Lyons at the Lyons Den for help.

An average period novella that seemed a bit lacking. Although ok if you wanted a short quick read .

Miss Rebecca Darby thought she has found the perfect husband material in John Lennox, Marquis of Gloucester. But lately, he has been hiding from her. What to do? She needs someone to help her bring John back into reality. Of course, she has heard of Mrs. Dove-Lyon and the Lyons Den and decides to find help there. Rebecca knows that she has helped many young women and hopes that she can be one. When John receives a written invitation to gamble at the Lyons Den, he decides to enter that world and see what it is like. What an interesting concept where women rule, and men follow orders. Will John be able to be saved or will he escape into the darkness? I love this series and the wonderful conclusions each story brings.

Sensual, compelling regency romance that has the reader rooting for the hero and heroine. Emily Murdoch weaves characters that come alive in her period romances, and this is not exception.

"Dire times called for desperate measures." That was why Rebecca was sitting in the Lyons Den waiting on Mrs Dove-Lyon. She needed help with the John, man she loved and hoped she could help her.

Well she came to the right place because they made a plan which should bring him up to snuff!
John is excited when he receives the invitation to the Lyon's Den and more surprised when he is asked to play a game with a masked gorgeous woman!

Little does he know at first it is Rebecca, who he cared about, but had been too shy to tell her.
Then the fun begins.

Another great addition to this series and with Emily pulling it into her Never the Bride series, it works out perfect!

Seductive Games

This is a steamy, lighthearted, Regency romance. Since John is not proposing, Rebecca takes matters into her own hands. With the help of the Black Widow of Whitehall, she plans a seduction, sure to ensnare him. Seduction is sometimes a dangerous game, and the seducer might win, or she might lose. Will John see the light? The masked seductress seems familiar. What happens when her identity is revealed? If you enjoy steamy Regency romance, you might like this short read.

I always enjoy the Lyon series and this one is no exception. It fits in well with the others in the series and Emily Murdoch did a great job of adding a new twist to the story. Characters are endearing and have flaws. Overall a great read

At wits end with John ‘the Lion’ Lennox, Miss Rebecca Darby turns to Mrs. Dove-Lyon and the Lyon’s Den to help bring him up to scratch. John is excited when he receives the invitation to come to the Lyon’s Den. He is intrigued when he is told he is invited to play a special game with a special lady. Rebecca isn’t sure she can carry out the plan. Will it finally bring them together or will it make things worse? This is a cute story with loveable characters. It is a wonderful addition to the Lyon’s Den World and to Never the Bride. A good read, I recommend it.

Always the Lyon Tamer by Emily EK Murdoch is definitely part of the Lyon's Den World despite the fact that its title is reminiscent of her Always the Bride series, and there are some crossover characters. Miss Rebecca Darby wants to marry, but not just anyone. She has her eye on John Lennox, Marquess of Gloucester. She had thought they had a connection earlier but nothing had come of it. She had decided to approach Mrs. Dove-Lyon for assistance. My the assistance she got. Now, she was here and so was John. Mrs. Dove Lyon was explaining the game to him right now. She was in a panic, but it was too late to back out. Would she in his hand?

This novella was extremely entertaining and very easy to read. However unlikely it is that during this period in history a young woman would participate in such a ruse, it did make for good reading. She was shy. He was bashful. Or was it the other way around? She was not tricking him to something he didn't want; he was just to embarrassed to ask. It was a fun plot with two fun characters. Certainly worth the read, especially if you are familiar with either series. I recommend it.

This is a great addition to the Lyon's Den saga.

I love a heroine who takes control of her own future, so when Rebecca sought out help from the infamous Bessie Dove-Lyon to reclaim John's attention, the author had my full attention. I would have appreciated more description of the setting of the Lyon's Den, but there was strong character development and description.

This is a fun, quick and romantic read. If you are looking for a quick and sexy historical romance with two shy characters and a hero with a big secret, this book is for you! Thanks so much to Netgalley, Dragonblade Publishing, and the author for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

She thinks he's a lady's man, but that is futher from the truth. She decides to take things into her own hands by going to the Lyon's Den. Boy are they both surprised. HEA.

I like this story, it's short, sweet and romantic.
Rebecca waited a long time for John Lennox, known as the Lion Lennox, to propose. Now she is going to engage the help of the owner of an exclusive club to help her to achieve her goal: marriage to the man she loves.
John is intrigued by the misterious invitation to the selective club. Maybe it's the answer to his prayer. The exclusive club is known for providing wives to members of the ton. He was once in love with Rebecca but lost her because of his shyness.
Now they are going to face each other in a completely different light. Is there still a chance for them to be together?
I really like Rebecca. She is terrify and still fights for her desires. John is a bit dull and definitely not shy from my point of view, but loves her and gives her everything she dreams of. They are good together. I enjoy their encounter a lot! Steamy!!
I've received an ARC of this book and all the options are my own

Rebecca decides the only way to gain what she wants is to visit the Lyon's Den.. As she tries to Tame the Lion of Lennox, will John finally see her for all that she is?
