Get ready for a wild ride, courtesy of Carolyn Arnold! Stolen Daughters, the second in the wonderful Amanda Steele series, thrusts Amanda into an arson/potential murder that just keeps escalating. Missing girls, possible white slavery ring, and fire add up to a fantastic read. I don't want to give too much away but this book will keep you up long past bedtime. In working this case, it's so interesting to follow as Amanda learns more about herself and the extreme loss she experienced. I highly recommend readers getting hooked on this series - it's one of the best!

Amanda Steele and her partner Trent Stenson are called to a house with a body of a young girl in it. The house was burnt to the ground, but there is a clue in it. It is a clue left for Amanda, and it brings back terrible memories for her. Then they find another girl, but she isn't who they thought she was. This is a strong 'mind game' for Amanda. But can she and Trent get through it and find the killer? Or will this be too much for Amanda to handle? I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book from Net Galley.

Another awesome suspense story in this series. Looking forward to the next.
Detective Amanda Steele and her partner, Trent, are called in to investigate the murder of a young teenager found in a burning building. They very quickly find out that they are dealing with the beginnings of a serial killer, not an isolated murder. When it becomes apparent that the victims are part of a human trafficking ring, the case takes on a whole new purpose for Amanda. But every decision Amanda makes has consequences, and when she chooses to put herself in danger to save someone she cares about, will it cost her her career?
This is a great series with just enough action and mystery to keep me up reading all night.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve read both books in this series and loved them! I can’t wait for the next instalment. This author knows how to tell a story that has you gripping the edge of your seat. I was hooked from the very first page. Five stars from me.

Many thanks to netgalley and Carolyn Arnold for the advanced copy of this book. I agreed to give my unbiased opinion voluntarily.

Detective Amanda Steele is an interesting character. Sometimes it's hard to like her and others you find yourself rooting for her. The case in this book is twisted and not what it seems at first. I was surprised by the outcome.
More than the case I was sucked into the drama. I really want to know the story with CSI Blair. And I can't wait to see how things play out with Hill. There were a lot of things in this story that I am looking forward to seeing play out in future books.

Great 2nd book in the Detective Amanda Steele’s series, Amanda and her partner Trent Stenson are called to investigate the murder of a teenage girl in an abandoned house, next day a neighbour is found murdered, do they have a serial killer on their hands, if so is this the beginning or has it been for a while? – As their investigation moves along they did the find themselves digging back into the human sex trafficking ring that was part of book 1 (you don’t have to have read book 1 to read book 2) – Again book 2 ends with a cliff hanger and you are hoping book 3 will follow soon!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an early look at this book for my opinion.

From the moment I ‘met’ detective Steele in the previous book I was a fan and it has not changed one little bit after reading this second part.
I know that everybody has to follow a certain amount of rules, but I love officers who sometimes colour outside the lines. They believe it’s necessary from time to time to do so and I don’t blame them. It may take too much time to get something organised when lives are at stake. Precious moments will be lost and you can never get them back.
On the other hand you might endanger a whole bunch of people in the process. To act or not to act? To wait or not to wait? Those are 2 important questions and you need to make a decision in a split second. You will never find out though whether you picked the right one, but you would do it again in a heartbeat.
Will her boss praise her and pat her on the back or will she summon Amanda with all its consequences?
Time flies when you are having fun, they say and you know what? They are right. 😊 I am looking forward to the next part in this very entertaining series filled with great characters. 5 stars

Thank you, Carolyn Arnold and Bookouture

I received this from "NetGalley"

This is the 2nd book in the Amanda Steele series. The story begins with Amanda in Washington, D.C. with her mother when she receives a call from her boss that a body has been discovered and she needs to get to that location. Her mother is visiting a defense attorney in relation to an incident which began in the 1st book. Amanda arrives at the scene to discover a Jane Doe that was murdered and a fire was set at the scene to hide the identity of the victim. Unfortunately, the fire was put out before it could happen. The killer was upset and eventually killed the person who had called 911 about the fire. Amanda while visiting the graves of her husband and daughter discovered a note to her which appeared to come from the killer.

As Amanda continuing pursuing the case, following the dragonfly pin that the 1st victim was wearing, learned indirectly who the Jane Doe was. The killings continued and there was very little evidence that they could follow. They discovered the location where the last two victims were picked up from and got a lead that would help them close the case.

A call from the killer to Amanda let her know that a person she cared for was in danger and for her to back off. Amanda originally had a thought where the killer was and had a SWAT team on scene. Unfortunately the person was not there. Trent, her partner discovered another scene that the killer might be located at. At this time, she did not request backup and wound up in a fight at this location. She was able to locate the site, but as a result her actions caused a review to be made.

To discover what the killers reasons were, what happened that led to the review, why her mother was seeing the defense attorney, then you must read this book. You won't be disappointed.

Detective Steele is back and doing her best to stop murderers. This time, the perp is killing young girls who have been victims of sex trafficking and leaving them in a burning building. As the cases pile-up, Amanda and her partner track leads that seem to end without any answers. When the serial killer gets personal with Amanda, the race is on to save 2 potential new victims and stop the violence. Meanwhile, Amanda is still struggling with he results of her last case: a mother headed to jail. Determined not to fall in love again, Amanda's tenuous relationship with Logan is put to the test. There are a few places where the story seems to leave loose ends, and it seems to end much too quickly. I am curious to see how the cliffhanger will be resolved in the next book.

Detective Amanda Steele returns to investigate when a teenage girl is found murdered in a burning house. When other teenage girls are found in similar circumstances, Steele knows they have a serial killer on their hands. With a very personal note left for Steele, the race is on to solve the case before more girls are found murdered.
The slow start soon picks up, and gravitates towards a gripping, read-in-one-session book.

Thanks NetGalley, Bookouture and Carolyn Arnold for an ARC to review.
Second installment in Detective Amanda Steele series and I already can't wait the next one's release. I couldn't get enough of Amanda and all the other plot lines, her mother's case, Logan, her career and lots more.
A fast paced intense thriller poking into the world of sex trafficking and its horrors, how does its poisonous effect reaches outside the immediate victims.
The book also raises a red flag about bad parenting and the catastrophic consequences as well as social media dangers regarding minors.
I am looking up Brandon's series, can't wait to dig in.

Stolen Daughters, the second novel in the Detective Amanda Steele series, is a good suspense thriller. Amanda and her partner Trent Steele follow the clues from the scene of a fire where the body of a murdered teenager girl is discovered. When other teenagers are found murdered in a burning house, they know they are looking for a serial killer, one who may have set his sights on Amanda. Though I did find it started off slowly, it did pick up quite well. I loved having the characters, good and bad, follow through from the first novel. It added tremendously to the story. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series, especially with the jolting end to this one. All in all, a well-written page turner.

Amanda Steele, Homicide detective with the Prince William police department and her partner Trent Stenson are called to the scene of a fire where the body of a murdered teenage girl is found. Tracing the girl through a dragonfly pin to one who has been missing for three years Amanda and her partner determine that the girl is part of a sex trafficking ring. While they continue to investigate another murder takes place and the team is led to believe that they have a serial killer on their hands. When Amanda receives a note from the killer at her daughter's grave she realizes that even though she is dealing with memories of her own tragedies and the fact that her mother is up on murder charges she must follow the clues before he can kill yet again.

Overall I thought this was a decent book. I liked the profiling/psychological aspects but I didn't find it a riveting or unique read. The pace for the first 2/3 of the book were a little slow for me but it picked up for the end. I am sure as the series goes on the characters will develop more therefore making it a more exciting read and the reader will be more invested in the story. I would recommend to crime thriller lovers.
