This was a lovely read, the story of Patience and Brodie, starting from a short flirty encounter to becoming almost enemies. She is the temporary nanny, he is the head of security and together they get to uncover a thread against their employer and friend to which she fell as a collateral.

While I didn't connect much with the characters, I liked how Patience knew her value and didn't put up with lack of respect, and how protective Brodie was. There was some drama, nice supporting characters, there were lovely moments, all in all this was just a short, likeable story.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Reus deliveries another enjoyable novella with the second story in the MacArthur Family series. Unintended Target features Brodie the brother to Daniel, the hero in the first novella, Falling for Irish. Brodie is head of security to Trevor (not really sure what Trevor does but he's rich and a businessman). Patience, the heroine this time around is a Kindergarten teacher who fills in as a nanny for the summer when Trevor needs help because all his other nannies have quit.

Brodie and Patience met outside a club at a food truck. There's an instant attraction, Brodie asks for her number but she declines because she's not really looking to date at the moment. They part ways with no hard feelings.

Then they are surprised to see each other again when Patience starts the nanny job. The attraction is still there but they try to professional about it when they are on the clock.

Unintended Target is a sweet romance with sexual tension and a bit of danger when it appears Trevor is targeted through his nephew (now son, since Oliver's parents died in an accident). Brodie is there to protect everyone involved and finds love in the process.

This story was too stinking cute. Patience, bless her heart, is so sweet and kind she cannot say no to anyone and Brodie is not quite the brooding hero. He is just all business. Their slow burn romance is so lovely. Not much more to say. If you want a nice, sweet, fun read for an afternoon or evening, try this series.

A fun story! I enjoyed the romance quite a bit. I liked how there was a spark when they met, and then they were reconnected a little while later. They go well together, and I so enjoyed watching them fall in love. I appreciated the danger element, but I felt the villain was obvious. I was expecting perhaps another little twist at the end of the book, but the epilogue was satisfying. It was still an enjoyable story! I really love this family and can't wait to read more!

*I received an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

I loved this second peek into the MacArthur family. This was a quick read with enough context so you could fall in love with the characters as they fell in love with each other. This book has it all (even for a quick read), angst, evil plots, adorable baby, laughter, tears, fear, mystery, and steam to get us to a very HEA. I can't wait for the next book in this series SAVING SIENNA.

I really enjoyed this Katie Reus story, It didn't take long to read, and kept me engaged all the way through. Patience took a summer job as a nanny and met Brodie. They were attracted to each other but took a while to act on it. There was romance, drama, a potential kidnapping and a cute little baby.

Good grief. Patience lives up to her name. She gets "volunteered" to help out a family friend when he inexplicably can't keep a nanny in service. He's not an ogre or a leech and the baby is cute as a button. So just what is going on? Her summer break from being a kindergarten teacher has gone up in smoke!

She has a bit of a meet-cute with a sexy guy at a Taco stand. Little does she know that he is actually the head of security for her new employer. A more naturally suspicious person you'll never meet. He takes his duties seriously, his employer is also his friend. So when the tempting new nanny wanders into his workplace, his trouble radar goes on high alert.

Brodie is oh so much brooding hotness. Grumpy with a sweet core, just what I love! He really does take his job seriously but I loved that little Patience totally doesn't kowtow to him. She is a feisty little teacher!

Shorter in length but oh so well filled. A well-crafted story, great characters and I'm loving all these very intense siblings!

I’m a big fan of this author. Everything she writes is fantastic and this story is no different. It’s a quick read that leaves you wishing for more of this storyline and characters. There’s a mix of suspense and drama. Not to mention a sizzling connection between Patience and Brody. Cannot wait to see what this author releases next.

The second novella in Ms Reus's new MacArthur Family series is a satisfying, fast-paced, enjoyable and quick read. That had a little suspense, likable characters and a truly engaging romance. And I would happily recommend it to others.

What can I say? When I see a Katie Reus cover on Netgalley, I just need to request it.

And although you can read her books as standalone, it is sooo much more fun if you read the whole series. This series is about the wealthy MacArthur family. In Falling for Irish we met brother Daniel. In this story we meet Brodie, who is the head of security for his friend Trevor.

Trevor is in need of a nanny, since all of his previous employees have left shortly after another.

Patience gets roped by her mother to help Trevor out during the summer. As a previous nanny and current preschool teacher, she is totally able to help Trevor out.

Brodie, however, is suspicious of Patience's motives. So, he starts to check her out and he is regularly checking in on her nanny job. But soon the monitoring doesn't feel like a job, since sparks are flying, between Brodie & Patience. However, when strange incidents start happening in the house, Brodie needs to ask himself, whether Patience is the culprit of the accidents or the victim. Suspense, romance and fun. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

And hopefully Trevor will get his own story as well. The next part of the series will be about Daniel and Brodie's sister Sienna. Can't wait!

I really enjoy security type romance and this was a great read! Wasn't an overly long story filled with fluff. I am going to check out more by the author because she put together a really enjoyable read.

This is book two in The MacArthur Family Series and it is Brodie and Patience story and omg it was absolutely amazing. Patience is a school teacher and has just broken up for the summer holidays were she hopes to relax and enjoy time with her friends but things don't always go as planned as her mum asks to to be a temporary nanny for Trevor's nephew Oliver who's parents have been killed in a helicopter crash and Trevor is his legal guardian so Patience decides to help out until Trevor finds a new nanny. Brodie works for Trevor as his head of security keeping Trevor and Oliver safe I be is a little annoyed when Trevor tells him that he has hired a nanny for the summer while they look for a permanent one and had not informed Brodie with any details and Brodie is a bit confused that the previous nannies had quit but he felt that something was off with that situation so he was looking into it to see what he could find out. When Brodie and Patience met things got off to a really bad start but as they got to know each other the connection and chemistry between them grows stronger but as usual it is not all plain sailing. There are many twists and turns that you don't see coming but you have to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next and the story takes you in right from the first page and I couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive. Katie Reus certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention as she is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed and I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

I am a fan of novellas when done well, and Ms. Reus definitely does them well. Despite the shorter length, she manages to develop her characters and flesh out their story fully. That's almost unicorn-like in novellas. I enjoyed this second book in the series (which can be read as a standalone, in my opinion) even more than the first. I felt the connection with and between Brodie and Patience, and I gobbled up their captivating story. I have been intrigued by the glimpses of Sierra that we've gotten in the first two books and will be anxiously awaiting her story!

A sincere thank you to NetGalley and KR Press for providing an ARC for review.

This is the second novella in this series entitled the "MacArthur Family" and it was just as enjoyable as the first book, "Falling for Irish." These are quick little reads that can be read in one sitting. Surprisingly, Ms. Reus packs quite a bit into a short novella. Sometimes I shy away from them because they're so short and I can't connect with the characters and get invested in them, but not so with these two books. I feel like I really know this family. The plot is well developed and doesn't feel rushed either. Patience and Brodie are likeable characters but it was Oliver who I fell in love with! Another quick, enjoyable read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of UNINTENDED TARGET (Novella 2 of the MacArthur Family romance series) by Katie Reus in exchange for an honest review. Elementary school teacher Patience Carras had plans for her summer that had nothing to do with children until her mother guilted her into acting as a temporary nanny for her wealthy childhood friend Trevor Robinson. Brody MacArthur, head of security for Trevor, finds himself with a conflict of interest. He’s extremely attracted to Patience, which affects his objectivity. Brody overcompensates with hostility and overt suspicion. When Brody finds out his suspicions were unfounded, Brody must find a way to overcome the damage he has done. If he can’t, Trevor will lose her nanny services, and Brody will lose his chance at a relationship with her.

I enjoyed this novella. I recommend it to fans of romances featuring wealthy businessmen, nannies, bodyguards, and staff drama.

I have been in a book funk lately where I just can not get into the books I am currently reading. I decided to read this one because it is listed as a novella so I know the story will be short and simple. Everything in this story happened pretty fast with little to no suspense as to what or who was messing with the heroine.
Patience is a kindergarten teacher who is on summer breaks but takes a temporary nanny position to help out a family friend. Brodie is the head of security and messed up when he met Patience the first time. A relationship starts to form between Brodie and Patience with a looming threat of who is out to hurt the family.
This was a very light, quick, and easy read. Since this was only a novella, it left me wanting more.

Doesn’t matter what this author writes. She has a way of bringing you into the story and makes you want more! Patience is a kindergartner teacher who is out for the summer. Her and her friends have plans for the summer, when she gets a call from her mother that changes everything. With a whisper in her ear by one hot man leaves her wanting more. When danger brings them back together who knows what will happen!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

Patience is a kindergarten teacher on summer break, but gets roped into helping a family friend as a nanny for the summer. Brodie is head of security for Patience's employer. Meet cute at the taco stand, but Brodie's sister interrupts. Then after they meet at the mansion, Brodie gets off on the wrong foot. Despite their rough beginning, and the suspense aspect, the romance between them moves really quickly. I wish there had been more of them as a couple. But it was a great little story to fill my afternoon!
