I enjoyed every book in this series, The Duke Dynasty. Ms Jeffries wrote a winning finale to the 3 Duke half siblings and 2 other half siblings as well. The dowager Duchess 3 times over has lost her husbands within a short period of marrying each of them except for her third spouse.

The previous 4 books narrates the stories of the 4 siblings of whom 2 are dukes and the family has finally arrived at the conclusion the deaths of 4 dukes is not an accident but they have been murdered. Along with the romance there is the mystery of who us behind the deaths of these men. While almost close to arrest, Elias one of the suspects is murdered while at Newgate. So the trail is lost.

Thus this book begins with the story of remaining son Sheridan Wolfe, the impoverished Duke of Armitage. His uncle the 3rd Duke had mismanaged the funds of the estate and Sheridan with the help of his older half sibling Grey Pryde, is working hard to rebuild his estates and is in dire need to fund an heiress to wed which is loathsome for him. He has a soft corner for Vanessa Pryde, a cousin of sorts.

So amidst finding out the killer, the siblings hone in on three Ladies who were all present at events at the time of the deaths of the 4 Dukes. There is some pseudo romance angle between the pseudo playwright Juncker (introduced on Wolfe and Olivia’s story) and Vanessa Pryde and Sheridan thinks he is helping her land Juncker while all along Venessa heart is set on Sheridan.

A bit of fluff here, otherwise a well narrated romance and murder mystery finale to a good series.

Perfect ending to a wonderful series. Did a wonderful job with the murder investigation and the romance and all the wackiness that goes with a historical romance. I’ve spend the whole series wondering who did it any only figured it out towards the end about five pages before they revealed who-dun-it.
All in all an excellent book and a very enjoyable read. Can’t wait for the short story this fall about the poet and the companion that’s set up in this book!

I have received this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I am a standing fan of the series so I just needed to find out whodunnit - yes, we do find that out in this one. I also enjoy a sassy heroine opposite a stuffy hero and Vanessa and Sheridan did not disappoint. It was rather satisfying that they do <spoiler>get married when there's a good chunk of the book left and that the wedding night goes on for chapters. Endearing and steamy.</spoiler>. I wish we would have seen more of Grey since he was sort of Vanessa's big brother but other than that it was a very satisfying story.

You cannot go wrong with a Sabrina Jeffries novel. She is one of the best historical romance writers and I devoured this novel in one sitting. I loved the Duke Dynasty series. I'm not sure if this is the last in the series as all the children are now married and the mystery has been solved but I hope not. I loved this family. The women in this series are all unique firecrackers. They are strong independent women and the men are intelligent witty and damn sexy.

This book has the two characters being forced to marry because they got caught in a moment of passion. What I loved most was that while there were issues about communication, the two characters addressed the issues right away and didn't let it become a major drama. This is the adult way to have a marriage. I hate when the major stumbling block in a romance is when the two main characters refuse to sit and have an honest conversation and instead almost let it ruin the relationship.

Ms Jeffries writes the perfect blend of romance, drama and steamy sex that make a perfect romance. You can not count yourself a historical romance fan if you've never read a book by her. This series is an absolute must-read.

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have read the previous books in the series, and I was curious to see how the story ends.
I enjoyed getting to know the characters (especially the dukes' family), and how they interacted with each other. Having a female heroine who is strong-willed and brave is always great- but I was hoping to see more about her skills with fashion and numbers (not just towards the end of the book).

Overall, a good conclusion to the series!

Sabrina Jeffries does not know how to write a bad book. I have been waiting for Sheridan and Vanessa's romance and nothing about this book was a disappointment. Vanessa has secretly loved Sheridan for years. When Sheridan offers to be a pretend romantic interest he has no idea Vanessa is really trying to catch him. The mystery that has been the backdrop of the last 3 books continues in this book as well. There is nothing a reader won't enjoy in this book.

**Review of eARC received from NetGalley**

I have been waiting for the resolution of “They Keep Killing Dukes” since “Project Duchess.” And, in true Sabrina Jeffries fashion, the ending did not disappoint! Neither did the story in getting there.

I’m glad Vanessa got a happy ending, especially with that horrible mother she has. Sheridan was great too, though he’s been kind of a blank slate up to this point in the series (mostly because there are SO MANY characters and keeping it all straight is a feat in and of itself. But in a good way). So it was nice to get his character fleshed out a bit.

Their courtship was well done too, though it obviously was a vehicle to further the murder mystery aspect of the story (not a complaint - like I said, I am here for series-long arcs being resolved). I also liked the family coming together to pin down the murderer in the end.

And the promise of a novella at Christmas that gives Juncker his story? Yes please!

4.5 stars

Looks like the end of a lovely series. I note that I have read the others. Lydia, the dowager duchess was married three times. Each of her sons became a duke. Sheridan, the hero of this book realised in the earlier books that the death of her husbands was not just tragic but likely to have been murderous, with his fellow dukes sets out to track down the villainess. They believe it was an aristocratic woman. Vanessa, the heroine is the daughter of one of the suspects and it's Sheridan's job to ask the difficult questions. Vanessa has always loved Sheridan. The romance was convoluted but interesting. Vanessa points out that their dukely assumptions are rubbish. I had my suspicions of the person responsible from other books and I was eventually prooved right. Sheridan is dyscalcic so finds it difficult reading ledgers, luckily Vanessa has had to keep her unpleasant mother on the financial straight and narrow so this is an excellent pairing. The romance takes up the start of the book and by half time they are married and there's lots of passionate scenes. The denouement for the perputator is IMO a rushed last tenth. Having said that, I enjoyed this book and in fact the whole of the series so would encourage you to try it. .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the last title of the series. The 4 stepbrothers finally finds out who killed their mother's husbands in this book. It's nice to revisit the former characters... some of my favorites... This book is about Sheridan who pretends to be courting Vanessa in order to solve the mystery. They get caught in a compromising situation and are forced to marry.... and you get the gist.... :) An exciting finish to the series...

Thanks to the publisher for providing me with an arc in exchange for my opinion.

This is Vanessa and Sheridan’s story. Sheridan and his family are investigating the possible murders of their mother’s husbands. Vanessa’s mother is one of the suspects. Vanessa has been in love with him for a year. Sheridan is supposed to question Vanessa’s mother. He pretends to court Vanessa. They get caught in a compromising position and are forced to marry. There are many secrets as well and as a murderer to catch. I loved the story as well as the series. I can’t wait for her next book.

Of the three ducal half-brothers, only Sheridan remains unmarried, and he intends to stay that way. But when he’s forced to spend time with his brother’s beautiful and brilliant cousin, Vanessa Pryde, he’s tempted to consider other options. Too bad Vanessa is enamored of a young playwright and has no interest in Sheridan. Or does she?

Thankfully, this book finally concludes the series-long mystery of who murdered several people. Sheridan and Vanessa’s reluctant courtship was a joy to watch. And it’s always nice to visit old friends from past books, a large group of whom feature heavily in this one. The whole extended family is one I wish I could meet.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

Who has been killing their mother’s husbands off? This fourth novel in the Duke Dynasty series, which involves four duke stepsiblings, solves the mystery that has been ongoing in the series. This story is about Sheridan, a man who never wants to open himself up to love, and Vanessa, a woman who has always loved him, who decides to go for him. A great story! I received an ARC from NetGalley and Kensington Books for my honest review.

Sweet and spicy, with one of the more affable heroes and daring heroines I’d seen in a while. Can’t wait to read more from this author
