This was such a fun read. I loved every character in this book. I also really liked that the plot had aspects you don't normally read about. The main character has Tourette's and one of the main plot points is about an improv group, both adding something fresh and interesting.

My phone broke and I wasn't able to listen to this audiobook. I couldn't download it again on my new phone, I'm so sorry for not being able to review this audiobook like I wanted to.

Ugh ... I loved the idea of a distracting, cute rom-com story and really appreciated the imperfect heroine. I have a few students with learning and psychological differences and strive to find books with inclusive characters. I was so excited to add this to my classroom library. Alas, I’m so, so sad that what would have been an adorable PG story turned into R+, meaning that I can’t use it in class or recommend it to anyone.
I wish the author offered another version that left out the sex bits, especially because they weren’t really necessary to the story. I’m not a prude and believe that romance novels can be a fun diversion, but this story just didn’t need it.
Besides that, I found the main character’s arc a bit unbelievable - too much, too fast damaged the credibility for me. The miraculous defeat of social anxiety- the message being ... “get a boyfriend and you’ll be cured” just didn’t work for me.
The characters were charming- each one perfectly flawed, and the story was sweet, but everything was just a bit too exaggerated for me.
Thank you to #Netgalley and #DreamscapeMedia for the ALC in exchange for my honest opinions.

Yes and I love you is a story about stepping out of your comfort zone and following your dreams.
Hollyn is known as Miz Poppy. A reviewer whose blog is one of the go to places to find out what is great with the local nightlife. This has been a safe and comfortable position for her because she’s able to stay anonymous. However when her blog is changed to a vlog by her boss she faces one of her biggest fear, speaking on camera. Enter Jasper, a young man who is working in the same office and trying to get his acting career to take off with his improve. When he realizes who Miz Poppy is he strikes a deal to help her learn to speak on camera if she will review their show.

This is a good story as it approaches the struggles people with torets have to deal with on a day to day bases. It’s also a story of chasing your dreams. It also adds some romance when Hollyn and Jasper make a deal to show Hollyn how to date with a fake relationship. The story is kind of all over the place but it’s not a bad thing.

I really liked both of the main characters. They are two people who have their own struggles and find a way to help each other. The side characters are really great as well to help build the relationship between everyone.

The parts I wasn’t a fan of was the sex scenes. They were a little were a little awkward at the start and could have been glazed over a little more.

Narration review

I only listened to the story so I can’t say much about the writing structure necessarily but the narration was well done. I feel like it really pulled the story together. I think its definitely one to check out on audio versus print. It brought the characters to life really well.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for my copy of Yes & I Love You by Roni Loren Narrated by Desiree Ketchum in exchange for an honest review. It published March 2, 2021.
First off, the writing and narration was well-done. I appreciated the representation of Tourette's Syndrome and the real-world explanations of various ways it can present itself. I think it's really important to raise that awareness. I also liked the setting, New Orleans. I overall just enjoyed the set up of this book.
That's why I'm sad that I had to DNF this one. There was so much detailed sex and I am extremely uncomfortable with that. There were no trigger warnings, otherwise I wouldn't have requested this book.

This novel is the sweet story of overcoming fears and insecurities by practice makes perfect. Hollyn is an entertainment journalist in New Orleans with the famous pen name of Miz Poppy. She hides her true identity because of the social anxiety surrounding her Tourette’s Syndrome. Meeting the new hot barista sends her nervous ticks out of control. He finds her mysteriously beautiful, but he’s unavailable because of his commitment to pushing for his dream career. Together they form an informal agreement to help Hollyn overcome her social anxiety and a sweet bond forms between them. I loved the comment that everyone may seem like they have it all together, but really everyone is falling apart in different ways.

I found this to be an easy audiobook to listen to. Enjoyed the uncertainty of their relationship, but honesty and chemistry between these young characters.

Thank you Netgalley & Sourcebook Casablanca for this audiobook.

3.5 stars rounded up - this was a funny, sweet and original love story with two likeable main characters and a good supporting cast. The audiobook narrator did a fantastic job as well.

I ended up reading this in print after the audiobook format wouldn't quite work right for me. It was an addictive romance and I couldn't put it down! This was my first book by this author but certainly will not be my last!

Yes & I Love You

There were so many qualities about the characters in this book to make it quite endearing. Hollyn, socially awkward because of Tourette’s and past trauma, has developed severe social anxiety. No one knows she’s the Miz Poppy behind the popular reviewer of local entertainment. To get out of her isolated shell living with her mother who homeschooled her, she moves to New Orleans to show she can make it on her own. At the advice of her counselor she rents an office where other free lancers work. Still more or less ignoring others in the office, she runs into the new barista, Jasper, who causes her to freeze up. She knows whatever she says won’t come out right and more or less tells her to hit the road when he drops her coffee off.

Jasper on the other hand came back home after failing the try out in LA for a Netflix show to work alongside his ex. Barista by day, improv actor by night, he feels deflated. He feels very attracted to Hollyn despite her awkwardness. When Hollyn learns she is to turn her Miz Poppy from writing to vlogging, she freaks out. Jasper offers to give her improv lessons to help her anxiety. But a bit more develops…

I would have absolutely loved the story if it didn’t turn into a bunch of smut, which is definitely not my thing. It could have been a very sweet story without it.

Thanks for the audiobook from Netgalley and Sourcebooks in exchange for an honest review!

I loved Yes & I Love You with all my heart. Primarily because I could relate to the main character, Hollyn, so well. Not that I'm a successful reviewer like her or go out quite as much or anything, but social anxiety is so real. So is self-isolation and the wall in your mind when you're an extroverted introvert. I just adored how Hollyn dealt with her issues and grew as the plot progressed, which was both heartwarming and hopeful for anyone who identifies with her,

Hollyn is known by few people, hiding away because of social anxiety and Tourette’s. But her 'alter ego,' Miz Poppy, is know all too well across New Orleans. She is a hyper popular and respected entertainment commentator in the city, and you would never guess she's even been anxious. But when her boss demands that her identity is made public, Hollyn realizes she will need some help in overcoming her barriers. So she turns to her daily coffee guy Jasper who is also an improv actor... and who could use the fame of someone like her t jumpstart his career,

While this book deals with complex issues, it is lighthearted in a very good, entertaining way. The romance plot in this novel is just fantastic as well, as the readers are dying to find out whether they will get together or not. This one is a huge yes.

Highly recommending everyone the audiobook version!

Confession: I read this book several months ago when it was first released, and I loved it. But I enjoy listening to books that I've already read - it helps entertain me while I'm doing household chores or going on a walk, and I don't have to concentrate very hard on what I'm listening to. However, not all audiobooks do the story justice.

I'm pleased to report this one does!

The female narrator started off sounding a little stiff, but after several chapters she seemed to settle in. There were several instances of mispronounced words, but the narrator did a fantastic job with the character dialogue.

Would I listen to another book by this narrator? Yes. And I can't wait to read - and listen! - to the next book in this series!

I enjoyed the overall book. Loved the premise and characters. The perfect amount of humor and steam.
The audio at times was a tad slow, but it was very much on point with the characters personality.

Thank you Dreamscape Media and @NetGalley for the arc.

The main characters, Hollyn and Jasper, were lovable and relatable. Young adults just figuring out themselves and navigating love. I enjoyed Hollyn learning to embrace her Tourette's and overcoming her social anxiety. I liked Jasper's positivity and enthusiasm. Made the characters easy to fall in love with. I also like that their relationship felt pure and honest.
The narration was great. The reader, Desiree Ketchum, did a great job at changing up the voices making it easy to follow.
My con with this novel was that use of the phrase "hella good." Seemed everyone was using it and sometimes it just felt like it didn't quite fit ever scenario. I also took off a star for what I felt was the overuse of eroticism. It was a little too much and unnecessary at some points, like to the point of me rolling my eyes. Although I get that it was used to show the sparks between Hollyn and Jasper, I more enjoyed their dialogue and I felt this just interfered with that a bit. Overall, good read.

Yes & I Love You by Roni Loren is the story of Hollyn, the face behind the popular columnist Miz Poppy, who unbeknownst to her followers has Tourette's Syndrome, which causes her extreme anxiety. When she meets Jasper, the hot barista in her building, who is an improv actor by night, he offers to give her acting lessons to help her feel more comfortable in front of a camera and a crowd, which is the next step in her career. Hollyn and Jasper hit it off and sparks fly!

I enjoyed the story and the reader did a good job of creating different voices for the characters. It was easy to tell the different female voices apart, as well as the males. My only disappointment was the number of words that the reader pronounced incorrectly and I wish I had read the book instead of listened. It would be a great summer read! Thanks to the author, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for an audio copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

This book is cute. In fact so cute, that I recently just finished reading another one incredibly similar to it...except this one wasn't quite as good. I loved the banter back and forth and I also loved the use of such unique topics as comedy improv and tourettes. There is something so exciting about reading a book that has such a unique and interesting look at topics that aren't super common in the reading world. It was great to get out of the overused advertising/marketing business world!! Also adding the compedy improv was fun, exciting and entertaining. It certainly made the book memorable.
However, based on the description and cover, I certainly expected more of a romcom and less eroticism. I clearly haven't read anything by this author before, but if I had looked up her other books, I obviously would have known more of what to expect. This is not for the reader who blushes easily, that's for sure.
The narration on the audiobook was great.
All in all, it was cute and quippy, but it wasn't my favorite.

I’ve listened to a lot of audiobooks lately and this one falls in the middle for me. The storyline ended up being a delightful surprise but it didn’t have the “could not stop listening” aspect. It was an enjoyable listen and fun romance. Thank you NetGalley for the advance audio copy.

This was an unexpected but delightful surprise! The only thing I knew going into this book was that it was a romance so the disability rep included in here was fantastic to read about! The main character has Tourette’s and the love interest has ADHD! I’m unsure if it is own voices or not and I don’t have either of those disabilities so please do check out own voices reviews for more thoughts on the representation!

Personally, I think it was done well and getting to see these characters deal with these in their own ways was inspiring and I could relate to some of what they had to endure due to my own disabilities. We need more disability rep in media, especially romance!

I got to listen to the audiobook version of this through Netgalley and I loved it. The narrator did a fantastic job with every single character and voice and made this story infinitely better! The experience was 10/10 and I recommend going the audiobook route for sure.

The actual story was so so good. The romance developed in the most perfect way! The friends to lovers with the friends with benefits trope was *chefs kiss* perfection. I was worried at certain points that a few tropes might crop up that I don’t like (miscommunication being one of them) but each situation was handled quickly and maturely, thank the book trope gods!

I just adored every second of this book. The characters each had their own personalities and flaws, their chemistry was stunning, the sex scenes were off the charts fantastic and the overall story and messages about confidence and family and friendship just brought it all together for me. I highly, highly implore you to check this book out if you are a fan of the adult romance genre!! A new favourite for me👀

4.5/5 ⭐️

f you’re looking for a fun, sexy, and emotional contemporary romance with disability rep, Roni Loren has written the perfect book for you! YES & I LOVE YOU follows Holly, an anonymous entertainment reviewer with Tourette syndrome. Her tics and an overprotective parent kept her relatively isolated growing up, but now in her mid-twenties, she’s trying to take her life back. The first step? Joining a group workspace where she meets Jasper, a cute comedian, and aspiring actor.

Not gonna lie, this book took me by surprise. It took a while for the characters to grow on me, but only because their development was so well-paced! You could tell Loren has done a lot of research to make both Hollyn and Jasper well-rounded, three-dimensional characters. And the sex scenes? Wow. A+ they were fun, realistic, and yet incendiary!

Listen to me when I tell you that Jasper is going to be your new book boyfriend, he just is! At one point he gives Hollyn a speech about what she deserves in a boyfriend and a lover and honesty I could cry right now just thinking about it!

The plot took a lot of turns I wasn’t expecting, in a great way! Hollyn and Jasper balance each other out so well. Additionally, there is a rich cast of secondary characters and I hope all of them get their own books! 🤩 I’m already counting down the days to WHAT IF YOU LOVE ME (the next book in the series!)

I did take off a star for the slow start and there was a little too much other love interest drama for me. It almost waded into love triangle territory and was making me sad! I hope the other person gets their own book in this series as well!

Overall, I can’t believe I went this long without reading a Roni Loren contemporary romance! I am glad I finally rectified the situation. Consider me a fan!

I listened to Roni Lorens, Yes and I Love You as an audiobook via Netgalley. I tried so hard to like this book but it just fell short for me. I found the story very clichè and a bit hard to listen to. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
