This book follows the dating and eventually marriage between Strong Manning and Emma Whitstone. What begins as a whirlwind romance takes a darker turn as the secrets of Strong's job cause a rift within their marriage. How can you trust the one you love if you really don't know who they really are?
This book did not really have a lot of depth nor character growth! The characters felt instant attraction towards one another, then they pursued a relationship that have very little development or foundation beyond the physical ; which causes one of them to discover something shocking about the other that causes a rift. Finally they finally have "the talk" by one of the secondary characters and discovers low and behold it has all been a huge misunderstanding and cue happily ever after!
I found Emma was a little naivete in regards of allows others to influence her without really asking the right questions or having an actual conversation with the people involved. Strong tried to have an alpha male personality, but did not set the clear boundaries for the people in his life that cause his wife to question his faithfulness. Overall, I would like to read more books by this author. I would recommend this book for those who like a quick romantic suspense book during traveling and or a cozy weekend!

Emma is a researcher for a law firm and fascinated by a good-looking lawyer she sees on occasion. Her friend, Susie, warns her about Strong Manning, saying he is someone to avoid and will only break her heart. Strong is attracted to Emma and when he asks her out, she accepts. There is a strong attraction, but Emma soon finds out he is involved with other activities outside of appearing in court. There are times he disappears, for various time periods, and never gets in touch. I really liked this book. Great characters, steamy romance, adventure and danger, and family relationships that warm your heart.

I stuck this one out, but I didn't enjoy it. The book seemed to skip around - years would pass. I didn't like Strong and I have no idea how he and Emma fell in love. And don't get me started on how fast they got married.

If a man took me to Vegas for the week and left me there and didn't communicate for over a month - I would be out.

ok, as I noted before, I wondered if I was reading a different book than everyone else. When this book starts, Emma is not a teacher, she appears to be some kind of researcher and working for a not so nice guy. She see Strong at the courthouse where she has gone to do some research and decides she likes the look of him and sets out to meet him. Strong is a lawyer but also has a second job with the government. it's the second job that really makes him the money. Strong and Emma go out on 6 dates before she sleeps with him and then it seems, bam they are married and having a kid. The timeline on this was a little weird. I am not sure how I feel about this book, I really didn't care for Strong, can't explain it, just didn't like him. I really didn't care for scene between Lars and Emma about breast milk. I liked Lars, Lizzie, Joe and Becky. Did not care for Jo Lynn at all!

I had a tough time getting into this book. I did a lot of skimming. The characters were annoying. I did not care for the storyline.
