WOW! This story was an emotional, heart wrenching roller coaster of a ride. Make sure you have tissues close by. I cried and smiled as I read. This was a book that I did not want to put down.
A story of a family and the heartbreaking struggles they go through. A mothers love for her child and the courage it takes to make those difficult choices as life becomes more challenging.

The heart-wrenching story. Her Last Chance. Gosh, I cried and cried more. I felt this book deeply. I even cried and smiled...as I closed the last page. I would read it over, and maybe not cry as much. Beautiful, deep, and well worth the read.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Her Last Chance by Alison Ragsdale that I read and reviewed.
This book was a emotional roller coaster. I felt like I need my tissues out from the start and was not able to buy them away until the very end. I loved Ava and Carly and how strong they both were with everything they had to go through in this book it broke my heart what Carly has a child had to endure and overcome but still had such a positive attitude for the most past.
I really enjoyed this book and I am giving it four out of five stars.

A stunning, heartbreaking read from this author who is new for me. It was, for me, a page turner sensitively written and all the characters were good and I felt as though I knew them all personally.

I can thoroughly recommend this book and thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this brilliant book.

Wow, I loved everything about this book; the characters were authentic, inclusive, and very likable. Their relationships, interactions, hopes, and fears were palpable. The setting for this story is Scotland, a place that I have only visited via Alison Ragsdale’s writings. As with every book that she has written and I have read, I did an on-line search to learn more about the places she referenced so I could see photos of these amazing sites. Reading her books is a little like touring Scotland with friends. I get to experience breathtaking historic sites and experience this rich culture while immersed in an amazing story. BRAVO! #NetGalley #herlastchance

Such a beautifully written story of loss in a few different ways and the emotional turmoil that families are left with when they lose a loved one as they are asked to consider organ donation. This is the first book that i have read by this author and I will definitely be checking out more of her books. It’s a book that you need to have the tissues close by.

Alison Ragsdale, in “Her Last Chance,” explores a mother’s love and the options available in making an utterly devastating decision.

Rick and Ava Guthrie have just moved to the Scottish highlands with their ten year old daughter, Carly. Initially preoccupied with renovations, they begin to notice that Carly is stumbling down stairs and walking into doors. Ava’s instinct tells her there’s something wrong and takes her to see a specialist. He confirms a devastating diagnosis; Carly has a rare genetic condition. Just when they seem to have accepted it and are learning to work with the disease, a tragic accident happens. Not only does life get more difficult for Carly, but also for Ava as she struggles with the most important decision of her life.

Emotionally rich and fast paced, this story will pull at your heartstrings. I was amazed at the maturity of Carly in handling the diagnosis and in her interactions with her mom regarding the disease. It was beautiful to ‘see’ the mother and daughter relationship grow to create a united front in the face of heartbreaking adversity. It truly reflected the strength of spirit and determination possible when we look for solutions rather than focus on the disability.

I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll just say that this book is a beautiful read and one that will give you lots to think about afterwards.

Thank you to Alison Ragsdale, Bookouture and NetGalley for this spectacular advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Let me start by saying :"You will need a box of tissues as you turn these beautiful pages!

This is a layered, detailed novel of love, heartache, heartbreak, courage and resilience!
Ava, Rick and their daughter Carly were one happy family until tragedy and devastating illness suddenly strike.
It is certainly overwhelming as Ava attempts to hold herself and her family together as each day changes.
Thankfully, strength from friends, doctors and each other, help them to make decisions, and prepare; as life becomes more of a challenge!
This story will have you crying, laughing at times and being thankful for all you have in these times of turmoil for us all!
You need to read this! I loved it!

My first book by this author and it won’t certainly not be my last one.
From the very beginning she captured my attention by the way she makes the emotions stream out of the pages. Whether she is talking about sadness, happiness, love, friendship, no matter which feeling she is describing, you can feel it deep in your heart.
You find the love of your life. You start a family and it all is like a dream come true. Unfortunately life is not only gifting you nice things. Sometimes it seems like it really really hates you.
Together as a family you are strong and you know you will climb out of this valley. The future is not quite laughing but definitely smiling at you again, but that’s a good thing, isn’t it? From now on the only way seems to be up…
This was a very beautiful story. The author must have spend quite some time doing research and I always applaud that. It makes the story so much more come to life.
What struck me was the maturity of Carly for such a young girl. The way she handled everything was almost otherworldly. I don’t think I would be able to handle it like she did. 5 stars

Thank you, Alison Ragsdale and Bookouture

Wow. Just wow.

This is Alison Ragsdale's best writing masterpiece yet. I actually can't quite comprehend the amount of research, and the amount of love that has been put into this stunning novel.

The relationship portrayed by Alison's words between Rick, Ava and Carly is nothing short of beautiful. I fell in love with this family, on their road of heartbreak and love.

Not only this, seeing the bond between Ava and Carly blossom while going through their struggles is so heartwarming, because Ava grew as a mother and Carly became this wise beyond her years young lady.

I smiled, I laughed, I cried and then I smiled some more. My eyes are puffy, my nose is running, which to me shows just how amazing this book really is!
