This author’s books are always some of my favorites. This one is inspiring, challenging, and sometimes convicting. I’m glad to have it on my shelf as I’ll be reading it again at a very thoughtful pace.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. I loved this book! It has been hard for me to find a good Christian book that I can fully get through. I highly recommend to all my Christian friends and family.

In this book, we find practical advice for our Christian life from the life of the Prophet Elisha. And how it all starts with one step, a decision to follow God. We will found interesting comparing between Prophet Elisha in the Old Testament and then Jesus in the New Testament. In this book, we will found encouragement, challenge for a firm determination to follow God’s way even when they are not completely clear to us. One of the things I like the most about the book, was “Our God searches far more for the available than for the able”. Many of us have wonder what do we need to have to be complete and serve God well, this book will give you that answer.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free digital copy for review, all opinions are my own.

Available for God's Purpose is an indepth study on the life of Elisha and what we can learn from Elisha's life. I love how Bill Crowder got his message along with stories to go with them, bringing it to me and you. There's so much lesson to learn from this gem of a book and I'd recommend this book to everyone wondering about their purpose

Lessons from the Life of Elisha
by Bill Crowder
Back of the Book: “God is magnified not by the able but by the available. In this world where people are constantly being pushed to be "somebody," this simple message allows you to relax and trust in God for the life He's designed for you. Bill Crowder writes in his usual down-to-earth style, offering contemporary illustrations so you can relate to the life of Elisha, a virtual nobody when the prophet Elijah identified him as his successor. Available for God's Purpose offers an amazing portrait of what God accomplished through the surrendered life of Elisha, and how God wants to do the same for all His children.”
Impressions: I’ve not really studied Elisha’s life and ministry which is why I was excited to read this book. I feel like this was a great introduction to his ministry and how he was “available for God’s purpose” and how we can be too.
Liked: I enjoyed the mix of Biblical context and the author's insight. It was very easy to read and understand.
Quotes: “Our God searches far more for the available that for the able. In fact, the record of Scripture seems to make it clear that our good God delights in taking the available and making them able.”
“God has a plan even when we don’t have a clue.”- This is how I find peace in life.
“When we’re struggling in the dark seasons of life, it can be difficult to find a way out. We can start to think that the light will never shine again. But our God is both light and life, and He enters into the darkness and death of Elijah’s despair to move him forward once more.”
“God’s provision will meet the need of the hour. We too can trust in that truth. God is here, and all is well.” -Amen and thank you, Lord!

I received this book from the publisher through Netgalley for review and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Are you struggling to find the calling and purpose of God? This book purports to show that moment in ordinary lives where the Lord God calls you to an extraordinary life of faith. However, I am extremely disappointed. With entire biblical scripture to utilize, the author uses a philosophical reference to make his point. It was at this point for me that the text, which I had been following in the biblical account, came to a screeching halt. I no longer felt I could trust the text and closed the book. Unfortunately, I won't be recommending this book for use for bible group study or personal study.

Free ARC from NET GALLEY

Crowder uses a great style to get across key points on possibly the 2 greatest prophets or at least miracle workers in the Old testament.

Nice to have a commentary on scripture that doesn't;t taker a commentary on scripture to read it!! Great book.

Available for God's Purpose
by Bill Crowder
This is an excellent book focusing on the lives of Elijah and Elisha. I truly learned a great deal from it. Crowder has a deft way of handling tough scripture and explaining it in such a way that makes it easy to grasp.
This book would be great for anyone and I would think any small group or Bible study group could easily use this for a study. I recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley.
