Love Science Comic series! They all would be wonderful to use while teaching various science topics. This would be perfect for teaching mammals, sea animals, or for a Ocean theme!

I wanted to learn about whales, but the opening, with all the information about sound waves, bored me, and I was never able to get my focus back. The animals are drawn cute, though. I missed a stronger story through line to balance the copious amount of facts.

This series never disappoints. The Science Comics is so popular in my Media Center and this latest is guaranteed to add to the excitement of my collection.
Whales are so fascinating to elementary school students and this book imparts the facts about them in an educational and fun manner. The introduction by Dr. de Vos should be especially pointed out to readers because of his explanation for writing the book and the knowledge he imparts is so vital to the subject. The allusion to humans as the aliens will delight my readers and the section on poop will delight them even more. Learning about whale sounds, communication and life cycles among so much is so informative. The encouragement by the author to engage in always asking questions will encourage my readers to do just that.,
The illustrations are so vivid and colorful. It discusses the dangers humans pose to the world of the whale but provides answers and ways to alleviate those issues. This is a positive, thorough book certain to provide answers and enjoyment throughout.
