AllTogether Now
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Robbie is a multi millionaire who is dying, has a short time to live. He invites his three high school best friends for a “ living “ wake at his fancy beach house on the Delaware coast. They are the Baltimore rejects because three of them were expelled from their high school, the fourth one quit in solidarity. They have not seen much of each other through the years.

Cat is working as an associate producer for a TV show, which job is not much more than a glorified secretary. Wade is a writer who had one book published with not much success and his second book is rejected by every publisher. Blair is the only one of the four who is married. She is invited to the beach house along with her husband Martin and their twins. Robbie is intent to fix all his friends’ lives, because money can buy everything.
How these four friends relate to each other after many years, how they deal with their own lives, how they see their future is the subject of the book.
In spite of the fact that Robbie is dying, this is a fairly light hearted book, a pleasant change from some of the historical fiction I usually read. I give it 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
Thanks NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the advanced copy.

This book was AMAZING! It will hit you with all the emotions but more importantly it will make you think about your own life. The characters are so well done you want to become part of the group yourself. The whole book was perfect!

I cried, I laughed and I cried some more throughout the aptly named "All Together Now" by Matthew Norman. The rich characters, moral dilemmas, situations that seem insurmountable and intricately woven relationships had me weeping and rooting for EVERYONE. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!

This was a lovely novel, dealing with a bad subject, dying. When Robbie Malcolm, a billionaire, is told he has only months to live, he gathers his 3 closest friends to share his last days. He decides he can fix their lives before his death. It actually makes for a great read in the hands of this very gifted novelist.

I felt drawn into the lives of the 4 best friends. The author paints 4 portraits of these interconnected people, bringing the reader up to date on their friendship and current issues. They are all likable and well developed. No hidden stories, no real flaws. Robbie does put their lives on a different trajectory, though not the ones he planned for them.

I really enjoyed this novel, its sensitivity and the homage to friendship that never dies.
I certainly recommend this to book groups. There’s lots to discuss after the members have relished tge book.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read, review and enjoy this novel.

This book gave me all the feels. Best book I've read in a while. (ok, it WAS a pretty low bar, but still....)

This was a beautiful bittersweet look at friendship. It's the group of friends that we all want to have. There is some drama of course, but no silly manufactured angst.

Is it possible it was TOO sweet? I don't know -can chocolate lava cake be too sweet? It all depends on the person.

I could not stop reading it - this was one of those "just one more chapter" books that keep you up way past your bedtime. I loved the characters and I loved the story and I wish it was longer.

I want to thank the author, the publisher and #netgalley for the ARC. This did not impact my review, as evidenced by the fact that I am now downloading another book from this author to read. Loved his writing style.
