If I was on fire, and this series was just slightly patched, I would hand this series all my water. That’s how much I love it.

I adore this book. I adore Aru with all my heart, as much as anyone can love a character. Nobody except maybe Percy Jackson himself holds a candle to how much this character means to me.

It means the world that there’s this Indian, clumsy, loud and yet brave, clever and wonderful girl out here, one of the Pandavas and defending the world best she can. This book remains the best in the series. Honestly, my five star rating should speak for itself.

My heart would jump out of my soul if I kept talking so I’ll stop here. Aru Shah is one of the best series I’ve ever read in my life, and this book is the best in the series. I have no doubt that the fifth book, and the end of this series will be better than this.

P.S. I love all the parallels with this and Percy Jackson!! Both having ✨something✨ in the fourth book that I can’t say without spoilers. Both drooling when they sleep. Both being clever as hell, and while none of them are any sort of book smart they’re the brains and wits of the operation. They’re both clumsy, brave-hearted kids, with the determination that rivals God himself. My stubborn, clumsy, awkward babies, I’ll always love them ♥️♥️♥️

I very much enjoyed the witty remarks and humor woven into the dialogue . I also appreciated the references to Lord of the Rings that were made throughout the book. Fortunately, I had already read the earlier books in the series...the reader will definitely want to read those before diving into this one! Additionally, it was nice to see a young adult book written currently that isn't focused heavily on political agendas...they are becoming quite rare.

This book was received as an ARC from Disney Publishing Worldwide - Rick Riordan Presents in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I am a fan of this series and a fan of mythology I knew I was in for quite a ride with Aru Shah and the City of Gold. This one was an adventure and then some. Aru is faced with a difficult revelation when she makes a wish of the tree of wishes but strangely does not remember her wish but here comes a new sister that is familiar to her but as they seek their mentors before the war with The Sleeper, more secrets are revealed that Aru questions whether or not she wants to fight on the devas behalf. As I read along while all of this was uncovered, my heart just kept beating and my jaw kept opening wider and wider in shock. I was along with Aru and her sisters for the journey and when we came close to the end, I was in awe of excitement and that is how the whole series was for me. I know fans of the series will be extremely happy and I can't wait to hear the opinions of our young library community.

We will consider adding this title to our JFiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

The Aru Shah/Pandava series continues to be a delight! Previously the series was advertised as a "quartet", but by the end of this one it seems clear it will be a quintet at least. Normally I dislike when series continue indefinitely, but I have to admit I'm looking forward to more of this series!

Amazing! This is book four in the series so I can’t say much about the plot but I am loving where we are in the storyline. Aru has grown so much in four books. She’s learning about herself, her friends, and her family. She’s learning what she’s capable of. She’s learning how she can be better and do better for the rest of the world, both ours and the Otherworld. And I of course love the found family aspect of every single one of these books. Cannot wait for book five and I’m excited to see how this all ends!

Roshani is the queen of cliff hangers!!!! I love seeing the Potatoes grow into themselves. As always the world building is phenomenal. I can never put one of her books down! Can't wait for book 5 ♡

I received a copy of this book from Rick Riordan Presents and Netgalley.

The Pandava series is so much fun and the latest entry, Aru Shah and the City of Gold is a ball to read.

The character developments that lead to the events in this book are a joy to explore further and the wild adventures will put a smile on your face.

Also? That cliffhanger?!
