A summer of discovery in a small town for a single dad and a veterinarian will bring hope and promise for all those around them.

Who can navigate through unresolved issues in the past to find love? Who can resolve family issues to prove they are worthy?

If you are looking for a light, emotional and tender love story that has a second love story within, this would make a great beach read.

Readers will find Lori Foster’s latest fun, feel-good and fabulous new novel The Summer of No Attachments impossible to resist.

After the acrimonious end of her last relationship, local vet Ivey Anders has decided to put relationships on the back burner and put herself first for a change. Ivey has had plenty of romantic disappointments in the past, so she just wants to forget about affairs of the heart and enjoy the summer on her own terms. Ivey plans to stick to her resolve and not to let anyone dissuade her from her from her summer of no attachments – until she meets Corbin Meyer and his troubled young son, Justin. As Ivey finds herself drawn to Corbin, will she find her resolve to stay stubbornly single crumbling? Or will her determination to keep her heart firmly under lock and key end up costing her everything?

Ivey’s best friend Hope Mage learnt at a very early age to trust nobody but herself. Life has taught her a very harsh lesson and an incident from her past has colored every single relationship she has ever had. Hope is happy that her best friend seems to have found somebody she can trust with all of her heart, but she doesn’t think that she will ever find a man who can make her drop down her guard once and for all -until she finds herself faced with a dilemma: Corbin’s older brother, Lang! Is Hope ready to draw a line under the past and move on with her life? Or will she continue to hide behind the walls she had erected around herself?

These two best friends are going to have a summer they will not easily forget – but only if they find the courage to let go of the past and grasp this chance at happiness with both hands.

A delightful summer read sprinkled with plenty of heat, charm and humor, Lori Foster delivers on all counts with her latest novel, The Summer of No Attachments. A wonderful tale about the power of friendship, second chances, healing from the past and falling in love when you least expect it, The Summer of No Attachments is a terrific page-turner readers will struggle to put down.

Lori Foster deftly blends emotion, wit, passion and drama in a superb women’s fiction novel that will leave readers with a great big smile on their face: The Summer of No Attachments.

Friends and co-workers at a small-town veterinary clinic date brothers, one with a troubled son, in this double romance. This was super-sweet, heartwarming, and emotional, but too light on substance and character growth for me.

I received a free advance reader's review copy of #TheSummerOfNoAttachments from #NetGalley.

Full disclosure - I would have read this book because I have a nephew with the same name who is about to become a father. HOWEVER, I would not just rate it a winner if I didn't think it was special. Ms. Foster handles really tough topics like single parenting, substance abuse, physical abuse, rape, etc. with such a delicate hand that it is thought provoking, emotional, sensitive.....as a reader I was a volcano of feelings. Everyone can relate to a character of some type in this book. AND THE ANIMALS --- YES the animals. Just when I want to cry out loud, there is a feel good scene that picks up the pace. I adore the support of the brother because that is the way it happens in my family of all boys. With every release, I am amazed that Ms. Foster can continue to outdo the story before. Well, prepare to be amazed.

I was severely less than thrilled by the cover, and started this title off badly. Not the best I read in 2021

Ivey Anders is content with her career as a vet, and enjoys her friendships, but her two year lukewarm romance with Geoff is only becoming colder each day. When Ivey finally decides to end the relationship, Geoff is stunned, and continues to call, text, and just show up in an attempt to win her back. Ivey stands firm, determined to take a period of time to just enjoy life without any serious attachments. Of course, that’s when Mr. Right appears in her life.
Corbin Meyer recently had his life turned upside down when a girl he dated briefly a decade ago presents him with his ten year old son, Justin. Corbin had no knowledge of Justin’s existence, and immediately takes steps to ensure that he obtains legal custody of the boy, as his mother no longer seems fit to (or even wants to) care for him. Corbin moves to a new location, hoping for a fresh start with the son who is a stranger to him. Of course, Justin is hurt, feeling abandoned, and confused, and it’s not smooth sailing. As Corbin struggles to connect with Justin, a chance meeting with Ivey brings some common ground as they share a love of animals.
Ivey immediately warms to Justin, but she is floored by her attraction to his father. Corbin returns her interest, and the two slowly begin to know one another. Ivey is an interesting character, as she seems to have no filters for the things she says, blurting out randomly how hot she finds Corbin. He is, in turn, flattered and amused. Their fast friendship quickly turns to a longing for a deeper relationship, though that’s not what either of them wanted right now. THE SUMMER OF NO ATTACHMENTS is a heartwarming romance, as well as a sweet story of the loving bond that develops between Corbin and Justin. Amidst the hassle of Ivey’s ex, who doesn’t seem to want to go away, and the threat of Justin’s mother returning to upset his new life, the three develop a loving routine, and come to form a new and wonderful family unit. There is a sweet secondary romance between Corbin’s brother, Lang, and Ivey’s best friend, Hope, a young woman who is skittish of men, after a trauma she suffered a few years ago. I swear that these two brothers are about the most perfect set of men you could find – handsome, wealthy, kind, loving toward Justin, and respectful to women. Whew! THE SUMMER OF NO ATTACHMENTS is an enjoyable, easy read, one with a pair of happy ever afters that will leave you with a smile.

Lori Foster has once again provided a wonderful story about the friendship between two best friends, Ivey and Hope, and unexpected romance. Enter a new-to-town single dad and his boisterous (loving) family, and you are set for a wonderful heartwarming story that you won’t want to end.

If that isn’t enough, there are plenty of pets in this story to go around, with Ivey a veterinarian with a soft heart. There is a splash of intrigue in the story as well (and plenty of nerding out moments too)! I truly enjoyed this story and would recommend it if you are a romance or women’s fiction fan.

Quite a sweet read with best friends in a relationship
Both the couples had things happening in their life
And this story showed me how they came to live a better tomorrow with some heartbreaking scenes.
I liked it.

This is about two best friends who are going through life together. Ivey is going though life with her heart open while Hope is not ready to fall in love. Ivey and Hope end up meeting brothers Corbin and Lang. Things start to develop and sweet romance starts to unfold. This story is an easy read and would be a perfect book to read during the summer.

This is a wonderful, filled with emotion book that is perfect for the summer! After ending her relationship all Ivey wanted to do was focus on her vet practice and not rush into a new relationship. However Corbin & his young son changed all of that. Ivey's best friend also found love with Corbin's brother Lang. Hope endured something tragic in the past which has prevented her from having any relationship. Both relationships have their ups and downs but they were worth it.

Another wonderful, sweet, funny romance from Lori Foster! What could be better than BFFs, Ivey and Hope, crushing on brothers! This book is attention getting right from the first page with animals. Lots of love happening in this book as BFFs, brothers, father/son relationships bloom and grow. Definite recommendation from me!

I love everything written by Lori Foster.
This book is no exception.
I couldn’t stop reading … even stayed up late to finish it. Who needs to be mentally aware at work? LOL
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

This was actually the first book I read from Lori Foster. It won't be the last! I loved all of the characters and their storylines. I definitely recommend this for women's fiction fans.

I have to be careful with falling prey to a nice cover. I really thought this book would be a playful summer romp but it fell flat for me pretty quickly. I enjoyed that the main character had an interesting job, and the scenes with her and animals were my favorite part of the book. The romance was a kind of a fizzle for me. I didn't enjoy the chemistry of the characters and wasn't a big fan of the resolution

I always read Lori Foster whenever I get a copy of any of her books and review them when they come out on the other platforms. I sometimes forget to review them on here. This was a wonderful book by her as always.
