I love Lori Foster's female friendship romance books. She used this similar concept in her Summer Resort series and The Somerset Girls. There are two female characters who have a strong friendly or family bond and they both find love. Even when men come into the picture the girl power remains steadfast. Her stories have so much more depth because of the connections forged before the HEA. Another winner from Lori Foster don't miss The Summer of No Attachments!!!

Another wonderful book by Lori Foster. I enjoyed the storyline & the relatable characters. It grabbed my attention in the first chapter & kept it until the last word. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to others AND I give it 5 stars!

What do you do when you’re in a dead end relationship and summer is right around the corner? You plan a summer with no attachments, footloose and fancy-free of course.

And what happens when we make plans? Life laughs and throws things in our face.

Veterinarian Ivey has been in a boring, going nowhere relationship for 2 years. She finally decides to dump him and spend the summer trying the local flavor. Well, new-found dad Corbin might have something to say about that, and his adorable 10 year old son Justin may fall for Ivey too.

Now, why, when I make plans, can’t stuff like this happen to me? Nope, not my luck, but not only does Corbin show up, he has a brother for Ivey’s bestie, Hope.

This book does have it all, though. There are scenes where you just want to walk onto the pages and hug Justin as you find out what happened when he was living with his mom.

And poor Hope, her life before Ivey was horrible. I’d like to smack her parents, they don’t deserve the title.

There’s a lot going on in this book, but it works. It shows how family truly can be blood, or love.

This is really an insta-love more than a drawn out romance. Things move very quickly between Ivey and Corbin but at the same time they don't. There is a lot of emotions in this book especially when it comes to Corbin's son. I really enjoyed getting to know Ivey, Corbin, Hope, Lang and Justin. I think this will be a great summer read but really you can read it anytime. What's not to love, this has romance, a lot of different emotions, cats and dogs and a lake.

I feel like I have been hugged after finishing this book! The characters in this book stole my heart quickly and never let go. Ivey and Hope were perfect as co-workers and self made sisters. Hope was so fragile at the beginning it broke my heart but Ivey's love for her warmed it at the same time. Ivey's independence, bluntness and gentleness made her the perfect match for Corbin and his son, Justin. Just when I thought Lori has given me more than enough she brings in Lang and Vesta which were the icing on the cake. Love, heartbreak, healing and family make this one heck of a read. Enjoy!!

Ivey is the local vet and loves animals. She has dumped her boyfriend of two years and wants a no strings attached fling. But she meets Corbin and Justin when Ivey’s best friend Hope rents a place from Corbin. Corbin has just moved into town with his son. Justin, Corbin’s son, is ten years old and Corbin just found out about him. Corbin and Justin have to get used to each other and Justin lived a hard life in his ten little years but Corbin is going to make it up to him. As they maneuver their way through this new relationship, Corbin finds out more about Justin’s earlier years and it breaks his heart. Corbin’s brother Lang shows up and falls for Hope. Hope works with Ivey and had a traumatic experience years ago and is very weary of men. But Lang slower brings her out of her shell.
I have the hardest time writing reviews. I don’t want to give too much away but I want the reader to understand what I’m trying to say. You have love, romance, and parts that will have you bawling like a baby.

Ivey is determined to have a summer of fun. Meeting Corbin changed that.

Corbin’s life is crazy. He just found out he has a 10 year old son. Now trying to get to know his son and give Justin some security. Renting out his guest house and meeting Ivey and Hope was not in his plans.

When Lang shows up and meets Hope he knows he will do whatever it takes to get her to open up to him and she sure does. Hope is learning to trust and love.

What a beautiful story of love and family. So perfectly written!!

Omg, I loved this and it was rather like a twofer. A perfect summertime read, or anytime!
Ivey, a small-town veterinarian with a heart as big as the sun, open and outgoing, along with her bff aka assistant Holly, who is understandably introverted around men, don't have any plans for this summer. Holly is moving, however, to a sweet little cottage, and there's where it begins.
Fate is funny that way when she's running the show. All kinds of surprises pop up when you least expect them, and this journey covers them all so sweetly.
I really don't want to give anything away but I will say when both Littles and Furbabies are in a book, it's always just that much better. Have a few tissues, there's both sad and happy tears in here, a lot of laughs, and life's lessons as well. Big on family too. Did I mention there's a bit of heat as well, when they get alone time, or don't get interrupted, that is.
Excellent read and highly recommended by me!

This is a story of two woman who form a bond stronger than friendship and sisterhood and the two brothers they meet in the small town of Sunset, Kentucky. Ivey Anders is a well respected veterinarian and Hope Mage is a 21 year old woman learning to grow stronger after a past trauma.
Although this is a touching and beautiful story it is a different feel then Lori Foster's other books. The reader will be sure to connect to the characters and fur babies. but may feel that the story feels rushed or has some element missing from Lori Foster's other works of fiction. Despite this rushed or missing element feel to the story it is still very enjoyable and entertaining.

I have to say I am a little envious of the locations in this book. The small-town storybook feel is in full affect as we dive into the story.

Foster has the perfect recipe for a cozy story that we crave. Wonderful atmosphere, well developed characters with interest and emotional connection, and a beautiful blend of fun and seriousness that balances everything out.

The story takes on multiple issues such as single parent struggles, family dysfunction, anxiety, moving forward, and trust. Foster tackles these in with grace using strong bonds of friendship, love, and care for each other in the steps towards healing.

The characters are blended together naturally and it seems like effortless friendship and romance builds strong connections with the family. Foster also throws in a little bit of disturbance and a ton of emotion in this heartwarming novel.

This is a sweet family romance that digs deep into your heart. The timid and fearful become strong and loved; free to become who they are meant to be. The Summer of No Attachments is Fosters specialty, offering a sweet, emotional connection all the way around.

What a wonderful story. Twins that didn’t know they were until one twin needed a kidney. Each had a different path in life by their environment. It makes you think about nature versus nurture. Regardless of that, I truly enjoyed this story and the characters. One I would suggest lovers of Susan Mallory and Jill Shalvis read. Enjoy!

The Summer of No Attachments by Lori Foster was such a sweet summer read. It was a lovely, low-angst story about two best friends and sisters of the heart and the two brothers who end up being the amazing men they didn't know they were looking for.

Ivey and Corbin and Hope and Lang each had their own story, but I actually found myself more interested in Hope and Lang's story.

I loved having Corbin's son as part of the story as well as all the animals. Also, I want to live at the lake house.

Another wonderful story from one of my long time go-to authors. The Summer of No Attachments takes us on an emotional journey of two different women coming out of some difficult and heartbreaking situations. They are both in different phases in their lives but the love and friendship they have for each other is so strong, they become family.

Ivey Anders, the beloved local veterinarian, has just gotten out of a dead-end relationship. She had felt taken advantage of and left her feeling too needy. She has decided to swear off of any romantic commitments and to just have fun as a single woman. As for her best friend and trusty co-worker, Hope Mage, she is still emotionally recovering from a traumatic event that happened to her four years ago and from the betrayal from her own family. They are complete opposites especially when in it comes to the opposite sex. Ivey is just looking for a fling, freedom to do what she wants and put her desires first. Hope is still nervous around men and the fear is still real whenever one comes too close to her. Both their lives are changed with the appearance of the Meyer men.

Corbin Meyer is new in town to start over with his ten year old son, Justin, who he never knew even existed until recently. With the help from Ivey and Daisy and her litter of pups, they start to forge a wonderful father and son relationship. There is also an instant attraction between Corbin and Ivey themselves. It was wonderful to see them grow into this amazing family. Older brother to Corbin, Lang comes into town after selling his business to be a support for both Corbin and his new nephew. He too felt an instant attraction to Hope, but after learning of her past, he was patient and just plain wonderful to her.

Overall, a great love story for two amazing couples. I loved the sense of family, familial and non-familial, the healing and all the fur-babies!

I received an ARC of The Summer of No Attachments from Netgalley, and this is my honest review.

A family story evolve around Corbin, Ivey, Lang and Hope. Ivey have past complicated relationship and decides to love herself more, found herself to be involved with Corbin and his son whom he never knew about. I love Corbin for his love to his son and the way he handle the news that he got a son who is 10 yrs old and have to fully be responsible for his well being. Hope is Ivey’s best friend and have a painful experience resulted in her being a recluse. With Lang, she found courage to break thru the barrier that has been holding her back. I love Lang for his patience and compassion for Hope. 😆

What a read! I love getting a Lori Foster book in my hands.

I enjoyed the premise of this book, and I really like how the twists unfolded. It was emotional in many ways. I laughed and cried.

It shows that even with the best laid plans, things happen how they are meant to happen. I loved getting a double romance and the blossoming of friendships!

This is my honest review of my Street Team ARC.
