Oh Lori, you have hit a grand slam with this one! This one has to be one of my favorites! It had everyone of my emotions on high alert from the very first page to the very last sentence. I love how all the family dynamics were all interwoven! You write such a book that anyone can relate to. Thank for writing us another winner!

Such a fantastic book, I’ll be re reading this again. I love that it’s actually two romances with all 4 points of view. Loved feeling connected with all the characters. Ivey just broke up with her boyfriend and isn’t looking for any attachments but finds herself falling for Corbin and his son Justin. Loved how Hope falls for Lang. He’s so patient with her. It’s an emotional journey and I was so involved I this book. Corbin and Lang are brother’s while Ivey and Hope work with each other and are best friends. Loved how they all get such a great happy ever after. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this read. The main characters are compelling, and you're definitely rooting for both sets of couples by the end. I will say I actually found Hope and Lang's story more interesting than Ivey and Corbin's...just felt a little less predictable somehow. All in all a fun, quick read.

Ivey, Corbin, Hope and Lang completely won me over. Lori Foster has written a keeper. Once started I could not put it down. Ivey and Corbin's romance was wonderful and fun. Lang and Hope was a special addition. Both a warm romance

Another delightful story from one of my favourite authors! Like her other trade paperbacks THE SUMMER OF NO ATTACHMENTS features two couples.
Ivey and Hope are best friends and co-workers. I love their "found family" energy and the unwavering support they have for each other. Ivey'd just dumped her boyfriend of two years when she bumps into Corbin and his young son Justin. I thoroughly enjoyed their journey, Ivey's tendency to speak whatever is on her mind, and the way she loves her cat Maurice. At times the romance was a little too smooth for me. Looking back I can't really think of any challenges they had to face as a couple and Ivey is hyper-understanding of Corbin's need to focus on his son.
Hope is still dealing with the consequence of a violent assault four years ago when Lang, Corbin's older brother, arrives on the scene. I loved how attentive and observant Lang is, how he allows their relationship develop at Hope's pace. Hope's strength comes through bright and strong. And now I want Hope's sister to have her own story.
Lori Foster has a wonderful voice that pulls you into the story from the beginning. Even if the "FAMILY " theme is rather heavy across the story I enjoyed the characters, romances, and wonderful animals woven together into a lovely read.

This story takes us to Sunset, KY and the lives of two women, very different from each other, who are sisters of the heart.
Ivey Anders is a well respected and loved veterinarian who after two years, ends a relationship that was going nowhere . Thinking that her next relationship will be one of no attachments, she never expected Corbin Meyer to change her life..
Meanwhile Hope Mage , is a 21 year old that years ago had a traumatic experience . An experience that has her skittish of men and doesn’t like anyone touch her. Neither expected that upon meeting new resident Corbin Meyer, his young son Justin, and Corbin’s brother Lang, their lives would change forever.
As the summer progresses , the reader gets to watch these individuals develop.
This is a story about family, whether by blood or friendship as well as a story about relationships. It’s also a story about finding inner strength, forgiveness, learning to trust oneself and others, and taking a chance on life, happiness and love.
It’s also a reminder that life and love can be messing but worth the effort .
This was another engaging and touching story by this talented author.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

A sweet double romance! Small town veterinarian Ivey Anders is ready for a change in her life. She breaks off a relationship that was going nowhere and is ready for some no strings attached fun, or so she thinks. Corbin Meyers wants to settle down and create a stable home life for his 10 year old son, Justin, that he just learned existed and is given sole responsibility for when the mother decides it his turn to be the parent. When Ivey and Corbin meet it is a perfect match but they are looking for different things in a relationship, or are they?

Hope Mage is scarred from events that happened 4 years prior that alienated her from her family. Her best friend and boss Ivey is the only one she told what happened that made her so skittish of men. When a chance to rent an adorable and secluded cottage owned by the newcomer, Corbin Meyers, leads to a chance encounter with his brother Lang, Hope feels sparks that she never before thought she’d ever feel. With Ivey’s help and encouragement, Lang learns her history and is willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.

This was a wonderful book!! It had just enough angst to keep it from being a pure lovey dovey romance (nothing wrong with those but I like some action usually), I cried more then once (which caught me by surprise since I was at work one of those times lol) and it tackled some real life issues with made it more immersive to me. Another great book from Lori Foster, I can’t wait to read whatever she writes next!

What an amazing story about family, it's different dynamics, and finding love when you least expect it! 5 emotional stars for this one!

This story will take you through a man, Corbin, who just found out he's got a ten year old son, Justin, decides they need a fresh start and moves to a new town, where he meet's Ivey, a vet and her assistant Hope. Add in his brother Lang, who comes to meet his new nephew and hang around with his brother.

They each have their own story, and through Lori's words, we see each one conquer their battle, and heal! This story was so well written, the author brings out all your emotions you'll feel so be prepared!

Corbin, Lang, Ivey, and Hope are all a family, separate at first but as time goes on the women grow closer to the guys. Corbin moves to town with his newly discovered son, Justin. Justin is in need of stability and time to get to know his father.

Ivey is he town Vet and helps with the animal rescue, Hope is her Veterinarian technician and the two love each other like sisters. Hope is very standoffish due to something that happened to her when she was a teenager. As Ivey is getting to know Corbin, his brother Lang comes to town and is immediately drawn to Hope.

I say this a lot about Lori Foster's books, but this one was really cute. The writing style of this book reminded me a lot of Jill Shalvis which is also one of my favorite authors. The characters in this book were realistic, likeable, and made me break out the tissues a few times. I loved this book, it definitely gets a high rating in the cuteness category!

I love Lori Foster's books but this one really got to me. The heart of the story is the friendship between Ivey and Hope who are closer than sisters. They work together at the local vet clinic and don't have much of a social life outside of work. Things change when Corbin and his 10 year old son, Justin, move to town. Corbin just found out he had a son and is trying to become the best dad he can be as quickly as possible. Justin was neglected and abused by his mom and is painfully unsure of his welcome. When Hope rents Corbin's guesthouse, Ivey meets him and their is instant attraction. When Corbin's brother, Lang, comes for a visit, he meets Hope and they begin a friendship. Hope has been traumatized in the past and has a lot to overcome but Lang is patient and willing to wait until she's ready to move forward. I really enjoyed how the characters interacted and the relationships developed. Highly recommended.

In “The Summer of No Attachments” by Lori Foster we meet two best friends, Ivey and Hope who are both looking to put their pasts behind them and work on themselves. Neither expected the new to town single dad and his over animated brother to turn their lives not only upside down but inside out. As they all work through their personnel conflicts, they begin to realize that maybe they don’t have to go it alone.

Throw in a no holds barred, hug loving mom, a very opinioned cat named Maurice, Daisy with her puppies and how could you not fall in love.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. I love a story that features a strong female friendship, and I loved how Hope and Ivey supported each other. And the brotherly bond between Corbin and Lang was great too. Ivey and Corbin were great strong characters that were a perfect match for each other. Hope was an interesting character, and I really enjoyed watching her come out of her shell and figure out what she wanted from life. There were a lot of heartbreaking topics in this story, but they were all handled carefully and didn’t leave you walking away too heartbroken. Another great story from Lori Foster. I received an ARC from netgalley, and this is my honest review.

The Summer of No Attachments is a story of love, family, growth, and healing, all wrapped up with a happy ever after. First, we have Ivey, a veterinarian in small town Sunset, Kentucky; she lives with a grumpy older cat and has sworn off relationships but is looking for fun. Her best friend Hope, who works with Ivey, was traumatized by a man years ago and is very uncomfortable around men; it seems like Ivey is her only friend. Then we meet Corbin, who has just moved to town with his 10-year-old son, who he only met when the mother contacted Corbin to tell him he had a son and it was his turn to be responsible for Justin. These four come together when Corbin and Justin show up at Ivey’s clinic wanting to adopt a dog….and discover Daisy, a frightened little rescue dog who has three puppies. The surprise is when Justin falls for the mother dog, not the puppies.

Ivey was so much fun, the woman does not have a filter and says whatever pops into her mind, which always seems to have something to say. Hope, on the other hand, only seems comfortable with Ivey and with her work at the clinic. Justin broke my heart, this child was so traumatized and didn’t know how to trust, but was wonderful with animals, the one area where he was able to feel safe.

I loved how the story slowly unfolded, allowing me to get to know each person individually and then watch their growth and the way their relationships developed. Justin and Hope struggle with their insecurities and fears, especially Justin who is a lonely, lost soul. And then Corbin’s brother Lang shows up, and I think he is my favorite right now. He was just so intuitive in his reactions to Hope’s fears, and supportive of his brother’s newly discovered nephew. Watching Corbin and Justin adjust was both heartbreaking and unbelievably beautiful.

I received an advanced copy of The Summer of No Attachments from the author and Netgalley. This is my honest review.

This was a wonderfully emotional read! Lori Foster nails family relationships like a boss and this book was a joy to read! I loved the exploration of a variety of relationships-father/son, siblings, best friends, parent/children, etc-and when a menagerie of pets are introduced?! Sold! Daisy and her puppies along with Maurice, the grumpy cat (who actually loved dogs) just made the people bonding all the sweeter. Told from various povs, Ivey, Corbin, and his son Justin’s tale hit me with an emotional train wreck and props to Corbin for his handling of a touchy situation for Justin in the best way possible. Corbin’s brother, Lang, and Ivey’s best friend, Hope, had me cheering at Hope’s determination, while awing at their relationship goal sweetness. Overall, lots of positivity and goodness balanced out the heavier notes in the best way possible.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author/Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another great read from Ms Foster! This was a feel good read with great characters, especially Corbin and Lang’s mother, Vesta. I like stories with two connected couples that resolve in one book. Even though Corbin and Ivey were the “main” couple, I really liked Hope and Lang. Lang was very perceptive and patient about Hope’s issues (which were understandable). It was nice to see the progression of Justin’s time with his new family. This is an easy read and would be perfect to take to the beach.

What’s that old saying about best-laid plans? Yeah, Ivey’s certainly fall by the wayside. I won’t retell the story – Ms. Foster delivered an amazing one that I couldn’t even begin to try to do that – but I can tell you that it is a warm, heartfelt, strongly binding story of blood family and the people who you come to think of as family. IMHO, the family you make is the best kind, and can be a wonderful addition to blood family, if you are so lucky to have them.

Corbin finds out he is a dad to a ten-year-old, Justin. Justin is scared, lonely, withdrawn and he and Corbin need to find their way to each other. For Corbin, the fact that Justin is his son is enough but he has to work to gain Justin’s trust. SO amazing to read. Ivey and Hope – Ivey is a veterinarian and Hope works with her. Ivey has sworn off relationships for a while but as I said, the best laid plans… She meets and becomes part of Corbin’s and Justin’s new world and they are perfectly not perfect! Loved reading about their journey to become family. Hope – she has a traumatic past, no familial support, and relies on Ivey to get by in the world; Ivey is her champion, so to speak. Heartbreaking to read about her past but wonderfully warm to see her grow into the person she is at the end of the story. Lang…Lang is Corbin’s brother and he shows up very early in the story. He and Corbin have always been very close and he is there to help Justin and Corbin adjust to their new normal. And there is a story of his own; such a sweetie!

The Summer of No Attachments is a wonderful read. It is intricate, deals with some very big life issues (so very delicately but with no sugar-coating), and a story about blossoming familial, and relationship, love. It will stay with me a very long time – I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed this book. This author is a fave of mine but I think this is my new favorite book she has written. I highly recommend.

*I received an arc from Netgalley & author for an honest review.* Lori Foster is an amazing author & this book is no exception!! This book is about Corbin & his son who move into town for a new start and they meet Ivey the local veterinarian. Then there’s Hope who works for Ivey & they are best friends & she meets Lang, Corbin’s brother, when he comes to stay with Corbin. This book is about moving forward, healing, friendship, family, loyalty & learning to trust others again after being hurt. At times, it’s just heartbreaking (Justin & Hope’s stories) but it has all the feels with such wonderful supporting characters & adorable rescue animals (Maurice the cat and Daisy & her puppies). Vesta, Corbin & Lang’s Mom is a riot. You will laugh, cry & will be rooting for all these wonderful characters. You need to read this book!!
