this was another well done chapter in this series, it had what I wanted from a Western romance book. The characters were great and I enjoyed reading this.

A Bride for Jordan is a very well written historical romance. The plot a marriage of convenience that turns to love. Great character dynamics. I recommend this book.

A Bride for Jordan is sort of a mail order marriage romance. Although a sweetly romantic book, I believe the romance would have benefited from being a bit longer. I loved the book but felt the relationship could have developed more below the surface.

Jordan considered Senta to be an employee and treated her as such in the beginning. He, also, seemed very set in his ways; she could accept it. Or, not. He did not seem to care. The idea of him being a non-meat eater seemed a bit unusual for someone of that time period. The explanation seems plausible, just a bit odd.

Senta is definitely a woman ahead of her time regarding women’s rights and striking off across the country for a faux marriage. Wouldn’t her reputation be ruined by living with Jordan? Then, getting an annulment?

Don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed the book, but it could be more developed, characters and story.

This was a nice short book
The story was different and written well
But I thought there was something missing, I couldn’t really connect with the characters and I didn’t really feel the time period.
This was a marriage by proxy book where the marriage was a business proposal, that was very clear from the beginning but I found that Senta thinking of it as a real marriage in some instances.
I thought the book needed a little bit more details especially with Senta and Jordon’s background.

A Bride for Jordan by Linda Carroll-Bradd

Jordan is a veterinarian who is trying to write a nonfiction book. Senta is a poor city girl that needs a job, she works as a stenographer for a local law firm.

Jordan realizes that if a female is sent to help him write his book, they will need to be wed, so as not to tarnish either of their reputations, with her staying at his house. They both find they have to make adjustments.

It was nice to read a book with the leading man concerned about propriety. It surely must have felt weird to be married by proxy.

The book was more like a novella than a full-length book. If it were longer, I would have given it 5 stars.
