This is a really fun read. I enjoyed the tone and the advice is relevant in today's hectic environment. It was a unique blend of law of attraction and witchcraft. The two have always blended at the base level of intent power but this book brings that more into focus. While I did like the tone, in places it felt a bit forced, though as not to detract from the advice, just that you'll notice the language stands out to the usual you will find for this type of read. The positive attitude was a message I always feel like i need to hear, as it is easy to slip into a negative mindset and the reset button can get dusty. The witchy ideas were light enough that any level practitioner can employ them with things they probably have on hand.

Ways to self-care/heal/feel empowered. A personal approach to help the reader (author's own stories in it too). A book that can help you take time for you. Does have things to make or do.

I want to give a huge shout out to Netgalley and they publishers for giving me a copy of this wonderful book! This was my monthly mental health book and I LOVED IT

This book is probably my 8th or 10th witchcraft book and this one was not a disappointment. I feel like there is a huge misunderstanding when it comes to witchcraft. It is not about learning to fly on a broom or become the next Harry Potter, but to focus on yourself and expelling the negative energy that you bring into your life.
My favorite quote from this book was “Your believes and how you view both yourself and the world can hugely influence the way you experience and navigate this bitch of a life”. YES!! That is so true and honestly this is what the book focuses on. Building you up and making you realize that life is what you make it. The author focused on becoming a better YOU!! Learning to love your body, coping with burn out, rethink success and breaking toxic patterns in your life were just a few things that the author really digs into.

I have been struggling to find a mental health book that I could take something away from it after reading and put it to use in my own life. I loved this book and there was so many things that I will be pulling into my every day life. Reading this book felt like my strong best friend was hyping me up and really motivating me to be my best self.

I can not recommend this book enough! I think the word “witchcraft” has a lot of stigma and I promise you, this book is worth reading no matter your religion!

I am fascinated with witchcraft, and have been since I was young. I am not a practitioner however. This book was easy enough for someone who doesn't practice witchcraft to be able to follow, and take some of the advice into my own daily life, but would definitely be useful to someone who does spells and the other things mentioned in the book.

It was an interesting read for me as I’ve never read a self-help or witchy or spiritual type of book before. But it’s definitely full of good ideas and I found it helpful.

This review will be posted to my blog May 3rd. I'll add it to The StoryGraph and GoodReads at that time.

Full disclosure: I pre-ordered the hardcover copy of this book the day I finished reading it. I think reading this book was a right time, right place for me. The current version of myself was very open to everything in this book which is not something I could say about past me. Either way, I already know I’m going to want this book on my shelves for quick refreshers on specific topics in the book.

The first thing I noticed and liked about this book was the tone it’s written in. It’s one of the few self-help books that doesn’t adopt an “I know more than you so everything I say is right” approach. Instead, Em has a you do you but I think these things generally lead to a better overall life approach that’s interspersed with subtle humor that perfectly matches my own.

The second thing I noticed was the way Em gets information across. The explanations are short and to the point which is exactly what I want. I don’t want long winded paragraphs about all the people you’ve helped with your techniques, give me the raw data and I’ll see if it applies to me. Em is very good at that.

The spells included in the book are easy for people new to Witchcraft and I really enjoyed that! I do think there were way too many spells that rely on burning things in a fireproof safe bowl. I live in a tiny Chicago apartment. One wrong move could mean disaster which means I think at least a third of the spells in the book aren’t useful to me. The ones that are useful though seem simple and easy so I’m excited to try them out.

In a funny twist of events, it turns out I’ve been following the author of this book on Instagram for years! We connected initially over using our Instagrams to track our weight loss and both have progressed to being generally about health and happiness regardless of size.

I highly enjoyed Witchcraft Therapy and if witchcraft and self help appeal to you I cannot recommend it enough.

I am in love with this book!! I can't get enough of it!! I love the tone of the author and her down to approach to the craft. I love her practicality and the tools she gives you to be the best magical person you can be. I highly recommend this book as it is a must-read! I voluntarily read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Fun and relatable, this is an excellent addition to nonfiction collections where new age and spirituality titles are popular.

Don't be fooled by the title, this book discusses a lot of practices that can be used in witchcraft, but are also used by other practices all over the world. Grounding, Meditation, and Visualization are practiced outside of witchcraft and are useful for your mental health no matter you beliefs. However, this book does talk about it in tandem with witchcraft, this book could be useful to anyone looking to get started in any of those things. Since witchcraft is in the title though there are a lot of other more magical elements to it including various self-care rituals. These rituals are great because they don't require a lot of materials, so even those of us who are feeling a little poor right now can practice.

Overall, I would recommend this book for people looking to a little magical self-care and peace of mind. The writing is funny and relatable. However, the author does state that these are not meant to replace therapy, they are meant to go along with it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Adams Media for an eARC of this book, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Witchcraft Therapy is a book many practicing witches would find useful, especially when feeling not so witchy. It brings the reader back to their inner power through meditation, visualization, and impactful rituals. Honestly, it was something I really needed to read in my practice.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy for review

5 stars - I loved it!

In Witchcraft Therapy, Mandi Em teaches you how to embrace your power of intention, use mindful manifestation, divination, and meditation to cope with what life throws at you. With easy to do rituals to get your mind in the right place, she teaches you how to rewire your thinking to live a happier life.

First off, this book is not an anti-medication or anti-doctor book. Mandi Em repeatedly stresses that it is extremely important to see medical help if you need to. This book is to be used alongside professional care, if you need it, and is not a cure all to everyone’s problems.

This book was extremely accessible, easy to read, and extremely easy to apply to your daily life. I really loved Mandi Em’s approach to discussing mental health. She is very blunt and straightforward about everything, which made this feel like you were having a conversation with her. This is not a preachy, or good vibes only book. She treats the reader like a person with a mental illness and I think that is why this book is so relatable and applicable to daily life.

The rituals within the book were extremely easy and practical. You don’t need a lot of materials for most of them and they don’t require belief in Gods or Goddesses to do them. This is all about learning about yourself and using grounding, manifestation, journaling, meditation and visualization to make your mental situation better. Almost all the rituals within this book are easy to use and alter to your own life and practice, which to me, makes this an extremely adaptable and informative book that is perfect for everyone looking for some extra help.

I really enjoyed this book. It starts out giving some basic succinct explanations energy work, grounding, manifestation, journaling, creating magical spaces, meditation and visualization and rituals. All great bases to have. The disclaimer right after was also a nice touch, in my opinion. I liked the exercise format and thought they were all well explained and achievable, especially because the author took possible space and life limitations into account and offered alternatives. Also, this book has so many different exercises and rituals that you will for sure find something to suit your need and that also means it will be useful for a long time. Another thing I really liked was the design aspect of this book. The cover, the new chapter pages and the colors of the titles all matched nicely and made the reading experience more enjoyable.

I was cautious with this book because it's specifically marketed as "therapy is expensive, read this book instead" and that's just not a healthy mindset to throw off all therapy services and go at things alone. I understand that, especially in the US, that is the reality that many people live with. However, as a counselor that threw me off and I was hesitant going into the book. I will say that this book includes steps that would be beneficial alongside traditional therapy methods, but won't "cure" or "solve" any problem on their own, no matter how strong your beliefs are or what spell you do. To market this as the solution to everything and do away with everything else is more harmful than helpful.

Thanks to the publishers and #NetGalley for the ARC of #WitchcraftTherapy

Some useful nuggets of information here but I wasn't a fan of the writing style. I did like how it mentioned The Law of Attraction early on- most witchcraft books I've read haven't outright acknowledged it. I could have really gotten into this book if the tone wasn't so sarcastic and conversation-like.

I found "Witchcraft Therapy" incredibly helpful. I was worried when I first jumped in but I was pleasantly surprised. Whenever I hear something like "_____ therapy", I assume it's about to scream anti-medication and anti-doctor garbage. This was, thank the Gods, not that whatsoever. Mandi Em makes a point to mention that this was an add-on to medical assistance not something to replace it. I'm also particularly fond of the writing. Honestly it sounds like the way I talk and it's VERY accessible. I found almost all of the rituals helpful in some way. They are definitely on the side of meditation and mindfulness and are things I was personally taught in counseling. I love the way Mandi Em presented mental illness and how she gives advice. It's not preachy and its definitely not "good vibes only" either. She treats the readers like a person with a mental illness. I can appreciate how everything is realistic. If you are interested in Paganism but don't believe in Gods this is a great start. You can learn the basics of magick without shoving a higher power down your throat.

Witchcraft Therapy provides readers with magical results through meditation, visualization, belief, and witchy methods.

I liked this more than I thought I would! It was a really interesting read which centred a lot around being at one with your energy and the world. It felt creative and powerful in its delivery of strategies to feel better in everyday life no matter what comes at you.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
