It's the curse of the second book.
It's good but it was so slow pace that when things started happening it ended.
Somehow, I hated all the characters that I loved in the previous book, specially Walter. I felt he was acting like a child, which was weird after embrasing the rebellion the way he did.
I still like the author's writing style, so I will grab the final book of this saga soon.

This is a review for all books in this series: Nicely done. A plot that keeps things interesting along with excellent writing. Recommended.
I really appreciate the free copy for review!!

**Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the eARC of this title**
I feel bad that it took me so long to get to this one, but I went back and read the first book so that I could get into this one!!
It was absolutely my mistake for not realizing The Jade Talisman was the 2nd book in a series, but I was new to NetGalley at the time. Finally getting around to posting a review on Goodreads and such and absolutely loved the universe/story!!

This cover is what drew me in and the fact that I read the first book in this series. This book was a really well done entry in the Jade Chronicles series. I'd look forward to reading more in this universe.

I enjoyed reading this science fantasy that beautifully blends the fears for future, where AI controls the world, with lessons from past, learnings from the animals, spirits and ancient way of life, while Walter, the protagonist, being a rebellion leader, tries to restore balance and peace.. Read this book if you love science fantasy.
