Hopefully the 1st book in a new series about the people of Ferry Lane in the town of Hartmouth in Cornwall. This book centres around Kara Moon who lives on the lane and works at the local florist market stall; in fact she has worked there since leaving school and gave up the opportunity to study floristry at college due to her mother leaving her, her sister and her dad.

She has a rogue of a boyfriend, who she finds out is cheating on her and has taken all of her hard earned savings. She kicks him out and starts to rebuild her life. She needs extra income and so she rents out her spare room to visitors to the town as a Airbnb. Her flat is in an idyllic location, with a balcony overlooking the bay.. She has some very interesting foreign guests, which helps to keep her busy and stop thinking about her ex boyfriend who she misses but realises she is well rid of him.

She is very put upon by her employer, the flower stall owner and one day she has had enough and quits her job. Just when she is feeling low, worrying about how to make ends meet, she receives a postcard, with a plane ticket to New York. She jets off to New York, then follows 2 more trips of a lifetime and she learns a lot about herself, life, bereavement and hope and trust in herself.

This is a great read, Kara Moon a great character and she finds love has been waiting for her all the time and she finally grasps it.

What a wonderful story of Kara who puts everyone before herself. Unfortunately others do not treat her as well., until one day a postcard arrives inviting her to America. She has no idea who the invite is from but over 3 weeks she begins to realise she is loved and also that she loves herself. I loved the relationship of her grandad and Bert, but be warned to have the tissues handy. Cannot wait for the next book

Wow what a fantastic start to a new series. Love the fantastic warm way Nicola writes about her communities in her family saga books.

This is a visit to the beautiful Cornish village of Hartmouth with the market and the strong village community. Karaโ€™s life has stagnated, she is living with unemployed Jago who treats her badly. and a boss who doesnโ€™t appreciate the long hours she works.

When an airline ticket to New York arrives from an anonymous source it is the start of an adventure allowing Kara to find the real her.

This is an easy holiday read with likeable characters, such as grandad Harry, and a crazy cat called James Bond

I loved the Cockleberry Bay books, so I knew I'd love this, the first in a new series by Nicola. The perfect escapism to brighten up your day! Loveable characters, humour, romance & a tinge of sadness, all made for another fab read & I'm looking forward to reading more of this series.

Kara Moon (33) lives in the Cornish village of Hartmouth with her unemployed partner Jago, her cat James Bond & Sid Vicious the terrapin. Working on the flower stall at the market to make ends meet, she often wonders if she should have followed her dreams; a broken relationship & the death of her beloved Grandfather later, she receives a postcard, along with a ticket to New York. Will she go & just who is her mystery benefactor?๐Ÿ—ฝ

Many thanks to Netgalley for my ARC in return for my honest review.

There are parts of this book that are obviously pretty far-fetched, but I honestly loved it. It was the perfect escapist read with fun characters you can root for. I just love the small tourist town setting, the strong sense of family both by blood and circumstance, and the totally likable characters. I had an inkling of who the adventure planner might be, but didn't really know until right at the end. If you love romance (closed door), likable characters, fun adventures, and a nice tidy happy ending, I definitely recommend you pick this one up. This book is not total fluff, the characters are well developed and there are some very emotional moments, so be prepared.
