Ben Keim has a well-deserved bad boy image. He believes everyone hates him and acts out because it’s the only way he gets attention. He’s 20 or 21, but he and his only two pals act like immature teenagers.
Linda Eicher admits she lacks empathy, and has little use for stupidity. She strives to be happy and laughs a lot. Ben doesn’t take well at being laughed at, so there are lots of fireworks. Ben’s baby niece adores him, and since children are good judges of character, Linda believes there must be more to Ben. Then she ruins everything by telling him she loves him.
Esther and Levi Keim are back, happily married, and the title refers to Esther, not Linda. Another story of rambunctious fun from Jennifer Beckstrom.

This story was fun. The Amish Quiltmaker in the title is Esther Kiem, whose young brother-in-law, Ben Kiem can't seem to stay out of trouble until he becomes fascinated with Linda Eicher. Linda loves the outdoors (they live in Colorado) and has a no nonsense attitude. She's not interested in the the wild young man at first but they grow on each other. Ben just has to get past the chip on his shoulder that keeps getting him involved in all the behaviors and activities that keep him in constant conflict with his father (the Bishop). This was a fun frolic through the outdoors of Colorado and the innerworkings of the mind and emotions of Ben and Linda. This is one of the most entertaining Amish romances I have read this year.

In this second book of the author’s series, Amish Quiltmaker’s, we once again find the characters of Esther, the Amish Quilter, and her husband Levi, trying to help Levi’s brother, Ben as his past continues to influence his life in a most negative way. Ben is still in his Rumspringa and has a very low self-esteem. Since his early years, he has been a very handful, designated as a bad boy in the community, which is made even worse by the fact that his father is a Bishop. He and two friends provide a lot of havoc in the community with destruction of property, disrespect for people and the Amish values.

We meet Linda Eicher who has known Ben since childhood and knows of his reputation. She is seemingly an upbeat person, always smiling and laughing. After one of Ben’s antics, she challenges him to a race. We see how this challenge creates an up and down relationship. Can opposites really attract? Can a bad reputation be repaired?

We meet a lot of characters who play an integral part in the lives of both Ben and Linda. Englisher, Cathy, was my favorite character in the book.

I enjoyed this book and recommend it to those who enjoy reading clean Amish romances. I was given a copy of this book by Zondervan and NetGalley. The opinions expressed are my own honest opinion.

Opposites definitely attract in this case. I loved the story of Ben and Linda. They would make me laugh out loud. It was great to visit again with Esther and Levi from the first book of the series. I hope there will be more in the series. It was hard to put it down.

Jennifer Beckstrand never disappoints, and she sure didn't this time in the The Amish Quiltmaker’s Unruly In-Law. It is the second book in the Amish Quiltmaker’s series and we focus this time on Levi's brother, Ben. Ben feels that the only ones who love him are his brother, sister-in-law, and neice. It doesn't help that he is pretty unruly as Amish standerds go. Linda is just the opposite, a practical Amish lady who finds joy and humor in just about everything.
The characters are well developed and easy to love. I really liked the back and forth between the hero and heroine. We revisit some great supporting characters from book one and get to embrace fun loving Cathy just a little more.
I really enjoyed The Amish Quiltmaker’s Unruly In-Law, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Amish romances!

Ben and Linda have known each other for a long time. Linda knows that most people avoid Ben because he is always making poor decisions and not even trying to be a good guy in their Amish community. He is sometimes mean and unpredictable, and a girl never knows if she can depend on him. But she asks him to go with her to ski, and they end up snowshoeing instead. As she gets to know him better, she begins to see his strengths and many good qualities he has that nobody else sees. She begins to care deeply for him, and when she tells him this, he doesn't believe her. He doesn't feel worthy of anybody's affection. This is a sweet and clean story that is an interesting and fun book to read.

The Amish Quiltmaker’s Unruly In-Law is the second book in the Amish Quiltmaker’s series. I actually have not read the first book in this series, but I loved the Honeybee Sisters and the Huckleberry Hill series by Jennifer Beckstrand. And I adored this one as well. Ms. Beckstrand brings a bit more of the real world into this Amish book, but she does it so well in a very tactful way, while speaking about the necessary need of forgiveness and grace, something that is very needed in this day and age.
The Amish Quiltmaker’s Unruly In-Law is about Ben Kiem who is the brother of Levi Kiem, the main guy character in the first book. In their Amish town, Ben is not making the best name for himself. He is on the road to alienate everyone around him until his sister-in-law convinces him to spend some time with sensible Linda Eicher. As they grow closer and closer together, Linda begins to see the kindness and helpfulness Ben is hiding behind his rebellious ways. And before she knows it, she realizes she has fallen in love with him. Their future is threatened though by a heartbreaking misunderstanding, and they will have to choose whether or not trusting each other is worth it.
I truly enjoyed this wonderful book especially Linda’s practicalness and her joy in things. I loved how she tried to laugh at things instead of getting upset. And how she was so no nonsense. She had to learn how to be compassionate with Ben, but she wasn’t afraid to call him out on the things that were wrong.
In the beginning, I had some issues with Ben’s character because it seemed as if he was blaming everyone else for his problems. But as you learn more and more about his past, it is heartbreaking to see what he had to endure. He had been scarred over and over again, and it had left a toll on him. While we were able to see Ben’s past, I was really happy that he tried to atone for his mistakes. He didn’t just try to win Linda back without apologizing and bettering himself.
The humor in this book was incredible as well! I loved Cathy’s character, and even though I have not read the first book, I already like Esther. She has a lot of spunk to her, and it was sweet to see how she, Levi, and their daughter interacted with Ben. Through them you were able to see Ben’s soft side, and they helped him redeem himself. He is not the only who gets a second chance as well, and I loved the theme of forgiveness and grace throughout the book. Ms. Beckstrand also keeps it clean even when Ben is being rebellious, so there is smoking, a fight, and a mention of drugs. However, the romance is very clean! I really enjoyed The Amish Quiltmaker’s Unruly In-Law, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Amish romances!

Many who only read Amish books will never be the same after reading this book. It gives the reader an insight into the Amish life before baptism hat we don't often see. A most satisfying read,
