I really enjoyed Writing Peace on my Heart by Janice Thompson. NOTE; I received a digital copy of Writing Peace on my Heart curtesy of NetGalley and was not able get the full experience of the book, so my review is based on the content I did receive. I did enjoy this journal and used it as part of my devotion time. The subject matter of the devotion is about peace. The book is divided into a 6-week study. Each week focused on a different aspect of peace and there are 7 days worth of devotions for each week on that particular aspect of peace. The devotions are good. Each devotion contains a Bible Verse that corresponds with the topic, various thoughts, examples, and questions to think about what you have read about and various spaces to journal. I highly recommend this book and believe others will enjoy it too. Despite not having all of the devotional like the synopsis described, I was still able to get a lot out of this book and would still highly recommend it. I would like to thank NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. (My review is also on Goodreads.)

Writing Peace on My Heart is a little bit devotional and a little bit scripture memorizing, which I really enjoyed. This book is different than previous devotionals that I have read, as it focuses on one Bible verse a week. I found that very helpful. Being that we are all very busy day in and day out, this devotional helps show you how to easily apply the weekly scriptures to your daily lives.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an advance copy in return for my honest review.

This book is encouraging and comforting. I loved the author’s writing style and felt she did a good job of explaining the different aspects of finding peace. I received an ebook for this review. However, after reading many of the devotions, I realize that I’d like to purchase a print copy so that I can highlight quotes and write notes in it.

I liked that the devotions for each week focus on one particular Bible verse about peace. Not only does that make it easy for this to be a “memory verse” for the week, it gives plenty of time to explore the meaning of the verse and fully understand the application of the scripture to our lives. This book would be great for personal devotions as well as a six week small group study.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Writing Peace on My Heart: A 6-Week Bible Memory Devotional by Janice Thompson was one of the books I had the opportunity to discover this past month. I was not familiar with Ms. Thompson's writings, but I enjoyed her writing style, practical lessons, and overall themes and challenges. This devotional, geared towards women, is focused on Bible memory and studying the Bible. Ms. Thompson focuses on bringing her readers to discover the best source of peace and comfort: God's Word.
I thoroughly appreciated and learned from this book and would highly recommend it. I appreciated the wealth of examples and illustrations that Ms. Thompson filled this devotional with, which give her readers great motivation and encouragements in their own journeys. The examples and real life stories of the heroes of the faith particularly struck me and reminded me of the lessons taught by those godly examples. The way that Ms. Thompson wrote kept the readers engaged and aware of their own areas for growth. I appreciated the conviction with which Ms. Thompson wrote as well as her personal examples and ability to relate to her readers.
Also, I enjoyed how Ms. Thompson would speak directly to her readers, almost as if she were coaching them on their journey. The organization and clear divisions between each day's readings was very helpful and well thought out. The length of the study (6 weeks) seemed to be appropriate for the book and I appreciated the amount of information and reading in each of the days. I appreciated how thoroughly Ms. Thompson convinced and challenged her readers to truly study the Bible, memorize Scripture, and keep up the Christian walk. Although this devotional may seem small, I think that its impact can be rather large. I hope that many can read this and grow in their personal walk with God.

Part devotional, part Scripture memory challenge, that makes it so easy to learn and interact with Scripture. Read and memorize one verse per week and dig in a little deeper each day. I received a copy of this devotional from the publisher with no requirement for a review. These are my own thoughts and opinions.

A six-week women’s devotional on peace that focuses on memorization and meditation. Each day has a devotional, a “blank page” where you are challenged to reflect and allow heart changes to occur and then the “Last Word”, a section devoted to final words of encouragement to seal the truths in your heart. The stories are meant to meet you where you are and reflect real life. All of us are busy, so that cannot be an excuse to elusive peace. This devotional gently calls you out of your excuses and reminds you that true peace, right where you are, is truly possible. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own, freely given.
