This was a delight! Recommended first purchase for collections where bookish women's fiction is popular.

The Reading List is a lovely book about the power of books,reading and community. In the Wembley neighborhood of London, several unrelated people find a list of books. As each of them reads through the books, they find their lives and perspectives changing from.what they've read. My favorite character was Mr.P, a widower who emerges from his grief as he reads through the list. His friendship with Aleshia,a young woman who works at the local library, is touching and makes each of them stronger. My only complaint with this book is that I feel that there are too many extraneous characters who don't add much to the story. I found it hard to keep track of all of them and found that many had no significant role in the story.

OMG, THIS BOOK TAKES PLACE IN LONDON!! It follows Mukesh who is a widower who lives in London after the death of his wife. He goes to the library for his niece, Priya every Wednesday because all she does is read and watch some documentaries he's not familiar with. On the other hand, Aleisha is a smart teenager with anxiety. She discovers a crumpled piece of paper that has a list of book recommendations. It's a boring day at work so she checks them out and it's life-changing for her! When Mukesh arrives at the library one day, Aleisha suggests the list when he tells her he wants to connect with his niece who is an avid reader. I love that this story shows how books can help people cope with grief and be an excellent form of escapism!!

The Reading List reminds us of the power of books. A good story can reach across cultures to connect us and Sara Nisha Adams does just that with her lovely book.
