Kerry Winfrey became an auto-buy author following Waiting For Tom Hanks and with her latest release, Very Sincerely Yours, she has written her best book yet. When she decided to write a “sexy Mr. Rogers” love interest, it was like she knew exactly what to do to make me instantly obsessed. Then she set it in the Fall. With a vintage toy shop. Featuring a hilarious, “wise beyond her years” kid. And then the male lead put on a cardigan and I was done. I loved this book.

Very Sincerely Yours is about Teddy, a 30 year old toy store worker who is lost following a break-up with her long-term boyfriend. The only thing that makes her feel better is her favorite show - Everett’s Place, a local children’s show hosted by Everett St. James (SEXY MR. ROGERS!). Always invested in and impressed by Everett’s thoughtful responses to children’s letters to him (this man, people. This. Man.), Teddy decides to write to him. We all know where this leads and we all love every second of it.

Honestly, I just wanted to crawl into this book. All of the cozy, autumnal vibes. The cute vintage dresses. The bike rides. The themed movie nights. The adorable puppeteer who talks to children about their feelings. Ugh. Perfection. Teddy and Everett are two of the sweetest characters I’ve read lately and I was so invested in not only their romance, but both of them just trying to figure out life. This is by far my favorite Kerry Winfrey romcom. Nora Ephron would be proud. All the stars.

Very Sincerely Yours was just as sweet as I expected and Winfrey did not disappoint.

Teddy thinks her life is going well until her terrible boyfriend, Richard breaks up with her and asks her to move out of their apartment. Luckily she moves in with her two best friends who she's barely seen since she was spending most of her life, caring for Richard. They help Teddy on a journey to really live and to try things that scare her. One of the things she does is email the host of a children's puppet show, Everett, that she watches a "guilty pleasure." They begin a sweet email correspondence that was one of my favorite parts of the book. Totally by chance they meet at a karaoke bar and begin a real relationship. As Teddy is struggling to find herself and what she wants to do, Everett is close to launching his show with a national company and a little bit of a workaholic.

I loved how quickly Everett and Teddy developed a sweet rapport. Everett was quite a workaholic, but so sweet. I loved Teddy's time with her friends who just encouraged her to be herself. Richard was terrible and I was so happy when she stood up to him.

I can't wait to see what Winfrey writes next.

Teddy losing her boyfriend and trying to find herself, finds Everett. Their story is just so cute. This is definitely a cuddle on the couch and just swoon type of romance.

For me, reading one of Winfrey’s books is like a warm snuggle. Like watching a Nora Ephron movie - exactly what made me fall in love with romcoms at a young age. Her newest book is absolutely no exception.

♥️If an author references the Kid’s Baking Championship and Taco Bell, it’s an automatic 4 star book and can only go up from there… she obviously knows the key to my heart.
♥️Three words. Hot Mister Rogers. Apparently I’m into that. You’ve got to meet Everett.
♥️ALL of the side characters were amazing.
♥️I LOVE when a book incorporates letters, texts, or in this case, emails. So clever. I fell in love with these characters much as they did with each other through those!

Winfrey’s books are closed door - so light on the steam, but heavy on the sweet. I can’t think of anything I would change about this book!

I loved this book! I enjoyed Kerry Winfrey's previous two books but loved this one even more, I think because of the Jim Henson and Muppets references - I'm a huge fan! I loved that Everett wanted to make a difference and did so by emulating Jim Henson and Mr. Rogers. I could also relate to Teddy not knowing what her passion was and that she was taking the time to find out. I loved the You've Got Mail type story and the emails throughout the book!

This story was so much fun.

Very Sincerely Yours takes every thing that there is to love about romcoms and squeezes it into this book.

Kerry Winfrey wrote characters who felt so real. The character development, their relationships, all of the conflict and resolution felt so natural. From main characters to secondary characters, every person in this book feels real and important.

The plot was well paced, fun, and easy to follow. This was one of my favorite books from this year!

VERY SINCERELY YOURS begins with Teddy, a young woman with a bad taste in men. She’s just getting out of a very bad relationship with a man who really took over her life. Teddy hasn’t really had time to be on her own, so she moves in with her friends and develops a plan to take back over her own life. Part of this is to conquer her fears and do things that scare her. First step is reaching out by email to a man she only knows from his TV show, Everett.

Everett has always known he wanted to work with puppets and he has made his dream a reality with a children’s show where he entertains and also addresses kids’ fears and feelings. He’s not used to getting emails from adults, but Teddy’s correspondence sparks and interest and the two soon become friends with the potential for more if they can manage to meet and overcome the challenges of real life.

This was a very sweet read and I enjoyed it. It was a nice break from some of the heavier books I was reading at the time and I read through it very quickly. The banter between Teddy and Everett over email was a lot of fun and I enjoyed seeing Teddy open herself up a bit more.

I will have to say I was frustrated at times with both characters. Teddy’s struggles with her self esteem and the ways she put up with how her ex treated her were sometimes tough to read. Everett has a single mindedness which has served him well in making his puppeteering dream a reality, but if often comes at the expense of those around him. He is quick to assume that those he cares about are on the same page with him even when they’re entirely not. Both Teddy and Everett had a good amount of growth in this book with more yet to do.

Overall this was a fun read! VERY SINCERELY YOURS is out today!

Very Sincerely Yours is a light, cute read with adorable characters!

Teddy works at a vintage toy store, and Everett hosts a Mister Rogers-esque children’s show on a local TV station. Teddy still hasn’t discovered what makes her tick, so she spends her life trying to please others. Everett, on the other hand, is so passionate about his work that he makes little to no time for others. One day, Teddy decides to email Everett through his show, and they start corresponding quite frequently. Will a few chance meetings lead to them being more than just pen pals?

I loved Teddy and Everett’s emails, especially their clever sign offs! They didn’t have the pressure often felt when talking to someone in person, so they were able to let their guards down and share their fears, secrets, and dreams with one another. They were both kind and supportive, and I adored the uplifting messages and bits of wisdom sprinkled throughout the book!

Teddy really came into her own, and I loved that she decided to do one thing each day that scared her. You never know what might happen if you try new things! The side characters were also fantastic. Everett’s little sister, Gretel, was my favorite and I wish she had been an even bigger part of the book. What an awesome kid! I also loved Teddy’s besties and her boss. We should all be so fortunate to have friends like them!

If you’re looking for a cute, sweet, feel good story, then definitely pick this one up!

Simply put, I love Kerry Winfrey. I love her characters. I love her plots. I love her humor. I love her writing. And, mostly, I love Very Sincerely Yours. There was something so very special about this book and characters for me. Maybe it was Teddy’s struggle to figure out her purpose as that’s one I can highly relate to. Maybe it was Gretel and the fact that she was so far behind her mere 12 years. Or maybe it was simply Everett St. James. I mean WHAT A NAME?! How can you NOT love a man with that name.

Really, I think that it was a little bit of everything that made me love this book so very much. Winfrey simply brought it all together to create the most perfect cocktail of a book. It was everything that I look for in a romance and a romcom specifically. It had the moments that made me laugh out loud (which are always the best) and the moments that made me stop and consider the real world implications and applications of what was on the page. I also devoured this book once I picked it up, which we all know is the ultimate sign of a great read.

Her characters were rather deep as they didn’t remain on the surface level. There was more to Teddy than just being the smiling, loving woman stuck with Rick the Dick. There was more to Everett than just being the smiling man responsible for the hit children’s tv show. They both had their own struggles, their own deep desires that they had to work through and figure out for themselves. It absolutely didn’t hurt that their email correspondences allowed for them to tap into their true selves like they never had before.

Ultimately, I just really loved this book. It’s absolutely a favorite of 2021 so far. I can’t wait to see what Winfrey writes next.

4.5 Stars - This was such a cute story about finding one's self and what kind of person they want to be. Teddy recently gets dumped after 6 years together and suddenly finds herself with nowhere to go. She also doesn't know who she is without her boyfriend, for the past 6 years she has been solely focused on him and his needs. Teddy turns to her two best friends who let her stay with them and they come up with a plan to help her find out who she really is. Teddy must do something every day that scares her, it can be a big or small thing but it needs to scare her.

Teddy also has a secret that she loves watching a local kids show called Everett's Place, think Mr. Rogers. One day she decides to email him for some advice and the two start such a cute email exchange! The two do eventually meet and I loved their relationship so much. Both characters were working on things in their personal lives and I enjoyed how they dealt with these challenges. Everett was just such a sweet guy! I also really enjoyed the parts with Teddy and her friends, they were so supportive her! They had the cutest themed movie nights where they pick a movie and all the food matches it! I highly recommend this one if you are looking for a sweet romance with a side self discovery. Thank you Berkley and Netgalley for my gifted for review!

Hot Mr. Rogers? I never knew how badly I need him in my life, but I did.

Very Sincerely Yours is a funny, heartfelt ride about self-acceptance and finding love with one of my favorite male characters in recent contemporary romance.

My only wish is that I could've seen Everett interact with Gretel and his parents one more time after he and Teddy got together. That part of the story felt undone.

Cute, quirky, and at times laugh out loud funny. This is my first Kerry Winfrey novel, and in a society focused on text messages, I thought the premise of emailing as a connection between Theodora and Everett to be just a breath of fresh air!

What worked for me: Everett as a children’s tv show host, a la Mr. Rogers. You can just envision how quirky and fun he was as a human, not to mention how caring. Teddy is relatable in that she’s coming out of a relationship (the kind where your friends don’t like the guy) and she wants to understand who she is and what she wants to do with her life. Admirable, for sure.

I felt the ending was a little rushed, and I wanted to see a little more about Everett’ and Teddy’s life. Maybe this will mean a second book?? One can hope, right?

For fans of Kerry Winfrey, I am sure you will adore this novel. If you are looking for a novel that metaphorically slows down and shows you how your dreams can change, plus those around you can enhance those dreams, then I think you will really enjoy this novel!

Kerry Winfrey does it again! This is such a cozy rom com with fun, quirky characters. Perfect comfort read.

This book was really cute, and I really enjoyed the concept! It was a nice, quick read, and the story was great. At first, this book felt more like women's fiction, but it slowly morphed into a romance which was great to see.

Teddy is super sweet and a genuinely kind person. It was really upsetting to see her get stomped on by her ex, but it was so gratifying to see her find herself and her confidence. Everrett is the sweetest soul ever, and his personality weaves with Teddy's so nicely. He is understanding, enthusiastic, and comforting, and I liked his character a lot! His relationship with his sister was very sweet and I liked how she played into the story as well.

Another thing I liked about this book was Teddy's friends. They were pushing her to be the best version of herself, and were so helpful to Teddy. It just made me smile to see such supportive friends depicted so well! Seeing Teddy trying new things was very entertaining, and it made me contemplate on new things I should try too.

Overall, this was a nice closed-door romance. I wish that there was a little more chemistry between them, because although their relationship was sweet, I didn't pick up on a ton of depth in their relationship. I find that this is often the case with closed-door romances, and its not a negative thing at all, more just like a personal preference for me!

When Teddy's long-term, live-in boyfriend breaks up with her out of the blue, she realizes she has to become her own person and figure out what she wants out of life. But to help her on this journey and get her out of her funk, she begins writing emails to a children's television show host (think modern-day, young, hot Mr. Rogers)--Everett St. James. And he responds. And wants to meet. But she's not sure she's ready for that...

Overall, I highly enjoyed this book. I thought the premise and jobs portrayed were highly original, and I love a good epistolary romance. I thought the side characters (like Everett's sister and Teddy's friends) were fun, and this book had major feel-good vibes. I was left with a great impression and positive outlook.

I will say, the day after reading, I do pause on some aspects. Was Teddy just a celebrity stalker who happened to be cute? Did Teddy really spend enough time finding herself before jumping into another relationship? I'm not really sure.

This is my second book by this author, and just like the previous one, this one was just as cute.
This is definitely a fun, heartfelt, lighthearted summer read. The characters are very enjoyable and entertaining.

Seriously charming and completely feel good, this book was exactly what I needed. Theodora thought the moment she was waiting for was happening. She thought she was going to be engaged, instead she got dumped and told to move out.

She spends her days working in a vintage toy shop and finding solace in a kids television show and the calming host of Everett’s Place, similar to Mr. Rogers. In an act of desperation she decides to email the host, like the children do, and ask for advice. She never expects them to actually start up a correspondence.

Their emails are hilarious and sweet. Little by little she puts the pieces of her life back together with the push of these emails, the strength of her friends and the love of her family. Every single day she vows to do one thing that scares her. It could be one big thing or a million little things but this is a great mantra to live by.

As their worlds intersect they not only need to be brave, but they need to also let go of preconceived notions and forge a new path together.

Very Sincerely Yours has "You Got Mail" vibes and I loved it to pieces! This is a sweet, and almost tender novel with likeable characters, an enjoyable plot, and a wonderfully uplifting romance! Kerry Winfrey is a fabulous writer and I'm excited for many more of her books in the future!

She considered herself lucky when her long abandoned friends took her in and dared her to do something that scared her daily. One day she dared to write a letter to children's show host who was often a source of comfort for her. To her delight, he wrote her back, but would their email friendship translate to real life?

You know what I love about Kerry Winfrey's romances? They are so cute, cozy, and amusing. I smiled, giggled, and laughed endlessly as I read this book.

There was no way I was not going to root for Teddy. Her boyfriend was a terrible man who, I feel, hijacked six years of her life. But you know what? She had two fabulous and fantastic friends. They were there for her when she needed them most, and as Teddy-supporters, they pumped her up and encouraged her. This trio made a great team, and they owned my heart.

But you know who owned an even bigger piece of my heart? Everett! He may be my most favorite soft boy yet. Imagine a Mr. Rogers-esque children's show host, very self-aware and in touch with his feelings. When he talked to the kids-at-home about emotions, my heart melted. He also loved his family. Went home for family dinners and genuinely enjoyed their company. Additionally, he was an incredible big brother to his much younger sister, and when you learn the full story, I think you may want to clone him. Needless to say, I bought my non-refundable ticket to the Teddy-Everett ship early and had no regrets.

Then there were the emails. Oh, those emails were too amazing. They were fun and sweet and I adored each and every one of them. The sign-offs were great too. There was one, "Yours Till Niagara Falls", which had me wondering if Winfrey was referencing a book I read a million years ago as a kid. (But I digress...)

This wasn't just a sweet romance with a great cast and fantastic friendships. It was also about not compromising your aspirations for someone else's and chasing your dreams. OH! And there was a cameo from some of our Waiting for Tom Hanks universe friends, which delighted me. This book had fantastic rom-com moments and lots of aww-shucks moments too. It made me laugh and shed happy tears. What more could I ask for?

Overall: This was a thick sweater on a winter's day, it made me happy, warm, and fuzzy.

What I love about Kerry Winfrey's books is that they're always about following your dreams. Yes, there's more going on here and Everett is being added to the best book boyfriend list, but it's also so hopeful and inspiring. As always, I love the setting and seeing places I've been in Columbus pop up (and mentions of @jenis, I can never get enough!). ⭐⭐⭐⭐ for this feel good rom com that might just make you want to start writing emails to random strangers on TV.
