Antonella “Nell” is not having a good day and this leads to her venting all her anger at the host in a bar/restaurant. Unluckily her rant is recorded and later goes viral, but she also meets Quinn at the restaurant with whom she spends a memorable evening thinking they will never see each other again. And as luck would have it, they do meet, he is her new boss.
I found Like a boss to be a cute and funny read. I really liked Nell as a cute, quirky, bubbly character, a complete opposite of Quinn. I also enjoyed the push and pull between them.
Like a boss is a cute, funny book that left me with a smile.

2 1/2, elevated to 3.

I didn't read book 1 in the series and it didn't affect the reading of this one.

The story centers around Nell, who goes viral when someone records her ranting on Valentine's Day at her restaurant and posts it online. On that day, in the restaurant, she meets Quinn and they share a kiss, but they don't even exchange information.

A couple of weeks later, they find out Quinn is Nell's new boss. Although they fight their attraction, the more time they spend together, the closer they get.
I liked how Quinn is such a good father.

Small town life and nosy neighbors interfere at every point, as do Quinn and Nell's past, professional lives, and family situation, but, in the end, they find a way to be together.

I received a copy from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

There were so many characters that it was honestly hard to keep track of sometimes. Long and drawn out, with the hallmark movie feel.

Like a Boss is a new romance by author Anne Harper. I didn't realize at the time that this is the second in the series, though thankfully that didn't impact my reading. This one is an office romance featuring a divorced dad and his spunky employee who is the center of small-town gossip.

It was good, and I thought the leading female Nell was fantastic. She was such a huge personality and I looked forward to what situation she would get into next. The leading male, Quinn, was a little hot and cold for me. He would do these great things, say the right things, have a meaningful connection, and then snap back and be totally cold. That was hard to read at times!
The romance between was very angsty will little pay off because of its low steam. The angst but lack of steam wasn't my favorite! The ending was a little anticlimactic and I felt a little underwhelmed, though of course happy that Nell and Quinn got their HEA.

Even though Like A Boss wasn't 100% for me, I will still be keeping an eye out for more of Anne Harper's books.

Like a boss - Anne Harper
Plot - Nell meets Quin when he watches her epic showdown on valentine's day at a cafe which even goes viral and sparks fly. Later it turns out that Quin will be Nells new boss and they will now have to work together in order to save their company!
My thoughts..
It started out really well and was kinda expecting more but unfortunately for me it fell flat. The romance lacked steam. There were various troupes like single dad, reserved guy, family office romance which could have been explored more..
Though I liked Nells character..otherwise this book unfortunately wasn't for me.
Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

I had been looking forward to this book since finishing the first book in the Accidentally Viral series.

With Like a Boss Anne Harper has put together a wonderful mix of a quirky small town, a heroine who went viral for her post-breakup speech, and a hero who wants ti succeed in his new job. Nell and Quinn crossed paths right after her Valentine's Day break up. When they meet again, it is on his first day as her new boss. Their personalities are opposites, but the chemistry between them is undeniable.

I really liked both Nell and Quinn. She is a strong, caring person who loves her work and family. He is a thoughtful, more reserved guy who loves his son and wants a solid future for him.

The story moves at a good pace. There's lots of laughs, a few sweet moments, and just enough drama to keep things interesting. I hope there is more to come from Arbor Bay and can't wait to see who the next couple might be!

Nell goes viral when she rants about swearing off men at a roadside diner. At that same diner, she meets Quinn who calms her down and buys her dinner. Imagine Nell's surprise when Quinn shows up at her office the next week as the new guy her boss hired to run the business!

Like a Boss is the second in the Accidentally Viral series, but other than one or two sentences, there is very little connecting it to the first book. The book has great romance tropes including workplace romance, sunshine/grump, age gap, single parent, and all the quirky characters you would expect in a small-town romance. Because it has so many, I felt like it didn't execute any of them particularly well. It's very low steam.

Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an advance copy. Opinions are my own.

After having the biggest meltdown of her life recorded and going viral, Nell figures things couldn't get more difficult. Being dumped, meltdown, dinner with a stranger because she doesn't have her wallet, she's just glad to get back to her job.

Speaking of her job, turns out her new boss, Quinn, is the guy she had an impromptu Valentine's dinner with, as well as a kiss. Now she has to keep things all business. Because it's what is best for the office, and what Quinn wants. So he says. But actions speaks louder than words.

This is a fun story! I enjoyed the characters. The switching point of view could have been a little crisper, so we know who is speaking more clearly. It didn't take away from the story.

If you love a good rom com novel, Like A Boss is the book for you! The sexual tension between the two main characters was so good and I was rooting for them to get together the entire time. This book was literally laugh out loud funny

This was a quick and enjoyable read. I enjoyed the small town vibe and the quirky anecdotes that it provided. Nell's family is hilarious and her friends are sweet. I love the tension that Nell and Quinn had throughout the whole book. It's not too explicit or raunchy and was all over a nice read!

Following a spectacular breakup, on Valentine’s Day no less, Antonella Bennett is at a truck stop diner screaming at the host about how she is D. O. N. E. With all men. Realizing she left her purse at her ex’s house, and not having much cash on her she is in a bind.
A stranger mentions he has yet to order and that if she joins him they could get the valentine special for 1/2 price. He introduces himself as Quinn, they eat, chat, and when the waiter mentions that it is typically tradition to take a Polaroid for the wall, they decide they aren’t they type to snuff tradition. One thing leads to another and they kiss, a memorable and not at all chaste kiss, and then go their separate ways.

A week later we find Nell, late to work at Heart in Hand. Her new boss has arrived, and it is none other than Quinn from the truck stop. And there is a very strict NO EMPLOYEE FRATERNIZING policy.
⭐️⭐️
This book had all the makings of some feel good romantic comedy hreatness, but it just did not hit the spot for me. The story was great, but I didn’t feel compelled by the characters and for me that is a big deal as I’m a character driven reader.
I wanted to give this a better rating... but I just couldn’t.

This was a charming (in parts) story of the friends-to-lovers genre, with an outsize extrovert personality on one side and a buttoned-up introvert on the other. Mix in small-town dynamics and a large family of the extrovert variety, and you can guess how this develops. Sometimes very funny and charming as a story, sometimes a bit much, overall a short and entertaining read.

If you love a good rom com novel, Like A Boss is the book for you! The sexual tension between the two main characters was so good and I was rooting for them to get together the entire time. This book was literally laugh out loud funny. I almost died when Nell and Quinn got themselves in to the sex toy mishap. I will 100% be recommending Like A Boss to all of my rom com loving friends. Thank you so much for allowing me to review it early. It was the perfect romance!

“When life gives you lemons, you either accept your fate and drink bitter lemonade or you say screw it and add in some vodka.”

This book had all the fun shenanigans of an adorable sitcom, with a loud bustling family representation, small-town charm, and an endearing romance. This has major grump-and-sunshine romance representation, which worked well in this case. It was a short book, but an enjoyable one, and I've never seen a tight-knit small town written in such a quirky way...if only I had a small town where everyone knows each other. It did take me a while to get fully engaged with the book, but once I did, it was an easy ride. The writing was simple and funny, pretty much for anyone. Would recommend for a light read.

3.5 stars
So charming!
I am always a fan of an office place romance.
I thought the characters in this were fantastic. I loved their story, and was always rooting for them.
It was funny and sweet and engaging.

It was cliche at times, but I usually didn’t mind.
I think the end was weakest point, but overall, very fun!

After Nell's tragic break up and a moment of anger that goes viral, a relative stranger tries to help her at a restaurant after realizing she's left her purse behind. They share a rather enjoyable evening before splitting ways to never see each other again. Right? Wrong! Turns out Quinn, the cute single dad who is a technophobe, is her new boss and is unaware that her rant at the restaurant went viral. Together the two of them are trying to save the small rental home company they work at in the small town in Alabama and dealing with the quirky residences of the small town all the while trying to hide their attraction to each other. Can they survive?

I was in the mood for a smart, breezy rom-com, and this book hit it out of the park. While the plot is a bit light, the characters are charming, the dialogue is sharp and the overall story is charming. Like a Boss is the kind of comfort read that leaves you both laughing and wishing for more.

After my last book frustrating me emotionally, I knew I needed a light-hearted romance-comedy to read and Like A Boss was perfect. It hit all the spots! I somehow managed to fly through this book and finish it well within 24 hours, which I was really not expecting but I really enjoyed it!

After Nell’s emotional outburst at a restaurant on Valentine’s Day is recorded and goes viral, she becomes known in her small town, and the rest of the world as the woman that is done, D-O-N-E with men. Her outburst comes after her long term boyfriend broke up with her claiming that she was not “the one”, she then found herself at a roadside restaurant without her purse, unable to afford the majority of the food on the menu. Her outburst was witnessed by a very attractive man, Quinn, who offers to split the Sweetheart’s menu so she can eat. Nell and Quinn get along great, even ending the night with an accidental kiss, but then Quinn leaves rather abruptly.

‘Since the day I met you, I can say with absolute confidence that you, Antonella Bennet, are nothing like I was expecting.’

A week later, Nell arrives at work to find a new boss that is none other than Quinn. Neither of them brings up the kiss, and Quinn chooses work over friendships with the Hand in Heart employees. Despite choosing to not mix work life and personal life, Quinn finds himself drawn to Nell and can’t seem to stop himself from caring about her. Quinn was such an interesting character that I’ve never really come across in books before. He is a newly divorced single Dad, who cares very much about his son, Owen. Quinn is building a life in Arbor Bay so his son can join him, which is his main reasoning for not pursuing anything with Nell, as he doesn’t want to jeopardise his new position.

‘But one of the hardest parts of growing is learning that plans rarely hold and that mess can be the best thing to happen to you.’

Nell is freshly out of a relationship and is coming to terms with the fact that she doesn’t seem to be too upset about the end of her relationship with a man she would have married if he asked her. This encourages her to discover more about what she wants in life, and despite swearing off men, she can’t deny her growing attraction for Quinn. When Nell is photographed without her permission by the town’s sleazy journalist, Quinn and Nell’s brother Mateo come to her rescue. Both Quinn and Nell are similar as they are both very family-oriented people and it was nice seeing the interactions between Nell and her siblings and Quinn and his son.

‘Maybe her “the one” wasn’t any one person. Maybe the one didn’t have to be a romantic love at all. Maybe it was just a group of people who loved her unconditionally while they all danced poorly and offbeat.’

The owner of Hand in Heart calls Nell and Quinn into his office to say if they can get a certain house to be sold to them, then he will sell the business to one of the two. Rather than this causing rivalry between the two main characters, they work together and are put into situations they wouldn’t necessarily expect to secure and save the business. This was a really light-hearted and easy read that I will definitely read again when I need a pick me up. It is the perfect book to read during the summer! I really liked the characters and their slow-burn romance had me hooked.

Like a Boss is a new romance by author Anne Harper. I adored her debut novel Fake It Till You Make It, so I was excited for this one. Also, her cover game is on point 😍This one is an office romance featuring a divorced dad and his spunky employee who is the center of town gossip.

Sadly, I didn't love this as much as the first. It was good, and I thought the leading female Nell was fantastic. She was such a huge personality I was always looking forward to what situation she would find herself in next. I also loved her family , oh my gosh they were wonderful and solid. However, our leading male Quinn, was disappointing. HE goes hot and cold so often it was completely frustrating. I was excited at first to learn he was a divorced soon to be single parent. Whenever he would talk about his son or talk to him on the phone he was so loving and warm but his son is barely in the book at all. The romance between was very angsty will little pay off because of its low steam. The angst but lack of steam made the story drag at times and I found myself bored. The ending was a little anticlimactic even if __ proclamation of love was sweet , at the end I was just left feeling underwhelmed.

Even though Like A Boss didn't work for me, I still really enjoy Anne Sharpers writing overall and I'll be keeping an eye out for more of her books.

Will be posted on my Blog: April 19th

OMG such a cute book! I was honestly laughing in the first two pages. It is such an inviting and engaging story. You will develop a bit of a girl crush on the main character.

This is definitely a book about the South. Nell is outspoken and she has a story for everything. The push and pull between her and Quinn got a little long winded, but this was a highly enjoyable story.
