Like a Boss is a fun and charming rom-com with wonderful characters and a lovely slow-burn romance. Nell is a fantastic protagonist and my favorite character in the book! She has an endearing personality that easily wins people over. Flirty, passionate, and fun, Nell has strong opinions and isn’t afraid to voice them. Her character is dynamic and well-layered, and I like that she reveals her fears and frustrations, as well as her strengths and successes.

When a video of Nell goes viral at the start of the story, her vulnerability is exposed for all the world to see, and I like how she handles the unwanted fame. I also like that this video reveals how strong and independent she is. Nell is a good friend, a hard worker, and she has this effervescent quality that is irresistible, especially to her new boss and potential love interest.

Quinn is new to Arbor Bay, but he fits right in with the locals well, especially Nell’s friends and family. He’s a fabulous leading man, and I love his intellect, kindness, and determination to do right by his son. Quin is starting over and hopes that Arbor Bay is the perfect place for a fresh start.

New to town and trying to find a home for himself and his young son, Quinn isn’t looking for a relationship, but he finds it hard to resist the bubbly and infectious Nell. This pair has amazing chemistry, and they are so drawn to each other. They connect and fit so well together, and it’s fun to follow them as they slowly realize the depth of their feelings.

Nell’s family and her two closest friends are wonderful and another part of the story that I adore. Boisterous and nosy, loyal and funny, Nell’s siblings and parents highlight the unbreakable bonds of family. Nell’s family is super supportive, and they always have her back. I love that Nell has so many people that love and support her, and her strong ties to them and her community say a lot about her priorities.

The small-town of Arbor Bay, where everyone knows everybody else, adds so much charm to the story. It’s also the perfect setting for the slow-burning romance between Nell and Quinn. Nell and Quinn’s story shows how wonderful it is to live somewhere where everyone knows and cares for each other, and it also shows how invasive and annoying it is at times. Like the characters, the town is realistically portrayed and unique!

This is a fun rom-com that I so enjoyed reading. It’s the perfect book for readers who like great characters, witty banter, a quirky small town, and a wonderful romance. Thanks so much to Entangled Amara and Anne Harper for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Let me first say, I read the first chapter of this book before going to work and it was SO good, it really set the mood for the whole book, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it for the rest of the day.
This book was such a quick and fun read! I loved Nell as a character, she was so charismatic and caring, and hilarious in the most awkward situations – situations she often got herself into. I didn’t care much for Quinn, the love interest, but there was nothing off-putting about him, he was kind of perfect. Maybe too perfect? Somehow though, he worked for Nell. The chemistry and pining is clearly there.

Although there were few romantic scenes in this book, I actually preferred reading about Nell doing the stupidest things and Quinn just standing by her side, heart eyed, doing as she says but complaining the whole time.

Nell has a big family, and I love every single one of them. I would read another book just about their shenanigans. I love reading good sibling rep and this is definitely it, I only wish there was more.

Books centered in a small town where everyone is in everyone’s business is quickly becoming by guilty pleasure, there really is something about small town folks doing stupid and awkward things to avoid the entire town ending up in your business.

This book is just all around a good time, I would love to read more of Nell, but for now I’ll just settle for other books by Anne Harper, which I very much look forward to reading.

Overall I enjoyed this book. The small town it was set in was endearing and really captured the essence of small towns - people caring about others. There was humor, love, friendship, and much more. The humor of some of the book scenes cannot be beaten!!

Slow burn romance coming your way!

If you’re a fan of small town everyone knows everyone, and slow burn romances with a crazy bubbly main character, this book is made for you! Antonella lives in a small town and when she breaks up with her boyfriend on Valentine’s Day and goes on a rant in the middle of a restaurant, she catches the eye of Quinn, her soon to be discovered boss. Even though there are sparks there, Quinn knows that he isn’t
Able to pursue Antonella, even if he really wants to.

And the cover is really cute by the way!

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the earc in return for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the arc of this book. All opinions are my own!

Look this had me hooked from the beginning, but mentioning Tua, Alabama and saying roll tide? An easy 5 stars! Lol In reality, this was a fantastic romcom that was easy to relate too! I absolutely adored Nell’s character. Who hasn’t sworn off from dating only to meet a great person?

I love the plot of this. The idea that a chance meeting might not become so chance after all. Plus an office place romance? This had me laughing, tearing up, and nodding my head in agreement. Her southern charm really won me over and her relationship with Quinn was super sweet. I loved the family element and that she had such great friends. Their shenanigans had me cracking up! What a fun, light hearted read! I loved this.

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for giving me access to this book to review.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book follows mostly the perspective of Nell who suddenly goes famous due to her rant on The Valentines day. If you like The Hating Game you will probably like this. It can be compared to the hating game in respect of the competition that both the characters have to go. I will just leave it at that.
About my own reading experience, i really enjoyed it. The characters were really cool. Nell made me laugh a lot of times. Her personality was amazing and it matched exactly with the grumpy personality of Quinn. It was such a fun read.

Nell meets Quinn in a restuarant on valentines day. She has just had a rant which ends up going viral. They have a meal together and then go their separate ways, but then Quinn turns up as her new boss.

Will they get a second chance or will work and the person they work for keep them apart?

A great read - looking forward to the rest of this series!

This is a fun book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It opens with Nell melting down about breaking up with her boyfriend on Valentine's Day. Sadly, it is far too realistic that almost everyone chose to watch or record the show she put on rather than offer a moment of kindness. Before she knows it, Nell has gone viral and become an internet sensation. Her mortification is complete when she enters her office a week later to see that the one man who offered her kindness is her new boss (Quinn) - and pretending he's never seen her before.

If you enjoy the genre, you'll want to put this one at the top of your TBR list. The characters were fun and engaging. Nell is a hoot and someone I'd want to know IRL. Quinn is sexy, but very rigid - so he doesn't know what to do with Nell, who is constant motion, antics, and humor. Add in the rest of the kooky characters, lots of crazy situations, and this book is a winner.

I love how the author has taken the "going viral" concept and turned it into an entertaining series. She is on my must read authors' list.
