The Perfect Murder by Kat Martin has it all. Drama, murder, love, adventure. Martin once again has woven a story that hold the readers interest and makes them want to live in the story with the characters. Highly recommend this author for all she has written.

The Perfect Murder was a fast-paced, action-packed read with an amazing romance.
The eldest of the Garrett brothers, Reese Garrett is in the middle of a major purchase of an offshore drilling platform for his company Garrett Resources. But on a trip out to see the rig, Reese's helicopter crashes leaving him hospitalized and two men dead. After it's discovered the helicopter was sabotaged, Reese is determined to find out who was behind it. Then when his executive assistant McKenzie Haines is accused of murdering her ex-husband, a man connected to the deal for the drilling platform, Reese realizes someone is targeting him and those close to him. As Reese and Kenzie work together to find the truth, the attraction between them threatens to destroy them both.
The plot in The Perfect Murder was an enjoyable one and I liked how fast-paced everything was. After it comes out that the helicopter crash was due to sabotage, Reese and his brothers as well as the employees of Maximum Security begin digging into the case. I loved getting to see a bunch of the characters from the other books pop up here. Not long after they begin looking into the crash, Kenzie is accused of murder which pulls their investigation in two directions. It didn't take long for the group to realize the threats were connected, now they just had to figure out why someone was targeting them. The author manages to keep you guessing until the very end and I really liked how everything was wrapped up. The ending was suspenseful and had just the right amount of action to make you wonder how everything would turn out.
Reese and Kenzie have been attracted to one another since she was hired as his assistant six months ago but neither of them want to act on it for their own reasons. Reese is focused on the company and doesn't believe he would have time for love while Kenzie is too busy doing her job and raising her nine-year-old son to think about dating. The chemistry between them though is fantastic and I loved it when they finally got together. The steamy scenes are very well done and nicely balanced with the rest of their relationship. I felt the pair developed a really solid relationship over the course of the book and overall I really enjoyed their romance.
Overall The Perfect Murder was a fantastic read and I would highly recommend this series if you're looking for some great romantic suspense.

This is an author that I highly recommend. Really great story, enjoyable story pace, and good suspense. I would definitely recommend reading the others in this series as well.

Kat Martin has come through again. Her characters are tough and smart and always save the day! That they end up together is definitely a plus!!

Another great entry in the Maximum Security series. Great tension throughout the story, exciting plot, and robust characters.

This is the first book I’ve read in this series. I’ll be grabbing the rest of them. LOL
Helicopter crash .. sabotage … murder. Love it!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoy Kat Martin's way of bringing to the page the right mix of elements without it being overwhelming. I enjoyed everything from the romance to the conflict all the way through to its resolution. I liked Reese and Kenzie and enjoyed getting to know them better. I very much appreciated the author's effort to establish and grow their connection on the page. They had great chemistry but it was ultimately their connection that convinced me to become invested in the story. As for the conflict, I felt like Kat Martin did a great job of including enough twists and turns to keep me guessing for a while and enough fast-paced action scenes to add to the thrill.
All in all, a great addition to the Maximum Security Series and a thrilling, fast-paced yet steamy read.

This was one of those books that caught me right from the beginning. It's labeled as romantic suspense. It's not usually what I read. I couldn't put it down. It reads easy, and yet it is quite intricate. Stringing you along and leading you down those ever-spiraling paths.
The Perfect Murder is Book 4 in a series titled Maximum Security. I am almost embarrassed to tell you that this is the first of her books I have read. How in the world could I have missed such a thing? I won’t do so again. Kat Martin has many, many books published. ALL have good reviews.

2.5 Stars
The Perfect Muder by Kat Martin is book four in the Maximum Security series and features Reese Garrett, CEO of Garrett Resources, a multi-million dollar oil and gas company, and Kenzie Haines, single-mom and Reese’s executive assistant. After a near-death incident, Reese sets out to determine if he was the target of the accident and what the motives could be for wanting him dead. After Kenzie and Reese give into their attraction to each other, Kenzie’s ex-husband is found murdered, and she’s the prime suspect. Reese and Kenzie set out to clear Kenzie’s name and uncover a connection between Reese’s accident and the murder, which sets them on a dangerous path to uncover the truth.
I jumped into this series with this book, and I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes that can leave a reader off-balance and playing a bit of catch-up, but it is billed as a stand-alone and I felt that for the most part that billing did hold up. That being said, I did feel like the characters of Reese and Kenzie were simply established and not a ton of character development occurred to help me connect to them as individuals or as a couple. The best developed part of either character was their devotion to Kenzie’s son, Griff. Kenzie is a great and devoted mom and Reese has fatherly instincts that really come to light as he grows closer to Kenzie and her family. I also felt that the relationship between Garrett and Kenzie felt a bit-off. This may be because their romance was intertwined with the suspense and action, but I didn’t experience the progression and development of their relationship that I like to see in romances that really stick with me.
As for the action and suspense parts, I had trouble following the storyline and characters involved; it felt somewhat disjointed, even though you’re getting insights from the point of view of the perpetrators as well as Kenzie and Garrett. Having this dual perspective is a choice that can work in some suspense novels, but I did not feel like it was well executed here.
I’ll admit that I’m still relatively new to the romantic suspense genre, and I can acknowledge that it’s probably hard to write; you’re combining two distinct genres into one novel and need to advance these two very different storylines together. For those who love the genre, this book may be an absolute winner for you; it definitely features aspects of both romance and suspense and checks a lot of those boxes. As a lover of both genres separately, I felt that I wasn’t fulfilled on either side of the coin, and that left me wanting more.

Reese is a CEO and Kenzie is his assistant. Things get dicey when an oil platform he is buying starts to have accidents and Kenzie’s ex is murdered. ARC from NetGalley.

The Perfect Murder by Kat Martin is the fourth book in the Maximum Security series. This is Reese’s story that we have been waiting for.
Reese is the rebel teen turned CEO of a billion dollar company. On the way to a meeting he is in a helicopter accident that he learns was no accident. He starts his own research into who did it and why.
Then his assistant turned lover is accused of murdering her ex husband. They start to wonder if all of the incidents are related.
Kat writes an action packed romantic suspense with equal balances of romance and suspense.

This is my first book that I have read from the maximum security series. It definitely won’t be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Reese Garrett is the CEO and his administrative assistant is Kenzie. Kenzie is getting a divorce and sparks fly. Reese is extremely attracted to her, all is well until Kenzie’s husband turns up murdered.
Will he be able to solve who the murderer is and was his fling, Kenzie involved? If you enjoy romantic suspense with a murder mystery you will love this book. Highly recommend!

Kat Martin is one of the few Romantic Suspense author who is able to give readers everything they want with a balance.
The characters are what readers are looking for smart, feisty, capable and wanting to find the answers to the questions they are in need of. Yes the men rich, smart and can kill with their hands. The women are smart, independent and capable of taking care of themselves and those they love.
The mystery and bad guys are always dark and evil and in need of a good old butt kick.
The Perfect Murder is the Perfect balance of Mystery, Romance, suspense and action. Hands down one of the best romantic suspense book I have read this summer.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of Kat Martin The Perfect Murder

This book certainly started off with a bang. There were enough twists to keep you guessing, and the romance was fire. Reese is strong, with a commanding presence you can practically feel ooze off the page. Kenzie's strength is a little different, and her determination made me absolutely love her. Together, they practically made my Kindle steam. The story definitely delivers on the action scenes as well...think action movie meets romance. You don't have to read any of the other books in the series to enjoy this book, so if you're looking for a page turner with heat, then you'll want to grab this book.

I've enjoyed all the books in this series but this is probably my favorite. Reece is a business man who is looking to acquire an off shore drilling rig but he's been plagued with setbacks. When the setbacks involving the rig escalate to attacks on his life and his assistant, the situation becomes really dangerous. Although he's attracted to his assistant, Kenzie, he is morally opposed to the idea of fraternizing with his staff. However when her welfare and that of her young son are in danger, Reese and Kenzie have to reorganize their priorities. Kidnapping, murder, suspense, and romance make this a hard to put down read that I highly recommend.

The oldest of the brothers take us through this one. Reese wants to make a major purchase. On the way though sabotage puts him in the hospital while 2 others are dead. No turning back we plunge forward. Along with Reese we want to know what is going on. Does not help that Kenzie and her son are also now targeted. This has quickly become a life or death situation. Turn those pages to find out if the brothers can get the answers to this one.

These two just cannot get a break. Just when you think everything is going to be OK all **** breaks loose. Loved the Kinzie and Reese Garrett They are the perfect mix and just belong together. Not that that works out anytime soon. Another Garrett brother is off the market. Good job Kenzie and Reese.

Wow The Perfect Murder was a suspenseful, action packed book from the first pages. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Reese and Kenzie, and how in the beginning they fought those feelings for each other. I would certainly recommend this book to others.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and HQN Books, in exchange for an fair and honest review.

Ever since Reese and his company announced their intent to purchase the Poseidon Oil drilling platform not only are there incidents that appear to be sabotage on the platform but the attacks are becoming more personal targeting Reese himself. When Reese and Kenzie declare their mutual attraction to each other these appear to extend to Kenzie as well. Are these related or separate incidents that just appear to be suspiciously along the same timeline?
Reese's brother's Chase and Brandon and friend Jason from Maximum Security along with Tech Sleuth Tabby are on the job chasing down clues trying to get to the bottom of things. There's an FBI agent as well trying to get to the bottom of the helicopter crash but he seems to be more of a distraction than an integral part of the story.
When Kenzie's husband is murdered in cold blood with a gun registered to Kenzie she automatically becomes the top suspect especially since her husband was planning to sue her for full time custody of their son and left her the executor of a 3 million dollar life insurance policy of which her son is the only benefactor. Then her son is kidnapped Now the 4 men jump into high gear trying to locate and save the child while getting to the bottom of the plot to stop the sale of the oil drilling platform.
Just when all the lose threads are tied and things seem to be heading for a happily ever after all the author pulls one last bullet from her arsenal. All in all a typical fast paced enjoyable romantic suspense from the author.

Another successful romantic suspense novel from Kat Martin. Tough to put down, filled with non-stop action and romance. Can Reese figure out who's behind all the accidents before he or someone he loves is injured? Some of the incidents are too close for comfort, but he and Kenzie r g in until the culprit is not identified and eliminated.
Although part of a series this story can be read as a standalone book.
I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.
