This was suspenseful to the point I was sweating reading this. I couldn't get comfortable in my seat while reading this... and I'll never look at flying the same way.

Great, fast-paced read that has lots of action and keeps your heart in your throat. I anticipated the ending, but the author does a nice job maintaining the pace. Very reminiscent of "Taken" with Liam Neeson in terms of the rush, if you're looking for that kind of read.

“You will crash your plane or I will kill your family.” That is the message that Bill Hoffman receives while he is piloting a commercial aircraft from California to New York. His wife and 2 young children are being held hostage. There are guns, lethal gas and explosives involved and Bill must decide who will die.

This is the first book from this author and it is a terrific thriller. Finally, a thriller that is actually thrilling. My interest never flagged. It would make a great movie as the action switches among the hostages, the cockpit, the FBI, the flight attendants and air traffic control. The author was a flight attendant, so the details of the procedure on the plane felt very real (although the author wrote in the afterword that she made enough changes to prevent the book being used as a training manual for terrorists). This book was immensely entertaining.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.

What? Another 9-11 terrorists attack? This is what Captain Bill Hoffman has to deal with on Coastal flight 416. He discovered his wife, son, and daugther are held by a sucide vested terrorist. The terrorist's choice for Bill is to crash the plane or his family dies. The flight unfolds with the non-stop action by the cabin crew to save one hundred and forty-nine souls. I give this book 5 of 5 stars.

Get intimate with fear. Know what it’s like to be faced with choosing who’s going to die-your family or 140 passengers on a plane you’re piloting and told to crash. Fly those passengers to an unknown destination chosen by the terrorists where a large population will be the victims of a plane exploding in their midst. Welcome to Falling..

A.J. Newman is just the person to tell the story of conflicting loyalties, no win high stakes choices and exciting surprising twists and turns that will satisfy the appetites of those who look for the definition of the word thriller. Newman knows her stuff. As a former flight attendant she has aviation knowledge that she uses effectively to ramp up the excitement of the book. For any adrenaline junky who reads the book you’ll eagerly await the movie whose rights were sold for seven figures-a real tribute for an author’s first effort. Guaranteed summer blockbuster.

Plot synopsis: Happy family man/pilot finds out when he is in the air that his family is being held hostage. The condition for their release-crashing and killing all aboard-and there is a terrorist aboard to make sure he executes the crash choice. The catastrophe has worse potential when It is revealed to the pilot the crash destination,

Action packed, surprise filled, intelligent- this is what the definition of blockbuster is.

Very cinematic. An adrenaline rush of a novel but with heart, deep characterization, and smooth writing. This is sure to be one of the hits of the summer. I’m looking to reading what TJ Newman has in store next.

Falling has edge-of-your-seat action that was just made for the movies. It's hard to put it down until you find out how it ends. Every time you think it's about to wind down, one more challenge appears.

AHHHH! Someone somewhere needs to make this into a movie someday, because I'd watch the hell out of it.

This book had me stressed to the max. It was thrilling from the very first page and didn't slow down until the last. This is everything I could have asked for a thriller. I can't even begin to imagine what I would do in Bill's position, or even Jo's. This was a page turner for sure, and I'd love to read more from this author in the future

Thank you to NetGalleyy for ARC. Whoa, this thriller is SO GOOD! Bill was called in to cover for another pilot. Little did he know he was taking part in a terrorist plot against his family and everyone on board the commercial flight. He receives an email telling him that he needs to crash the plane with 151 souls on board or his family will be killed. To make matters worse, there was another terrorist on board to make sure he followed the commands. I read this book so fast because I had to know what happened next!!!! It was well written and kept me on the edge of my seat! #falling #tjnewman #july2021

A plane. The family of the pilot kidnapped by terrorists and a crew willing to do anything to save the "souls" that travel in the plane.
With this premise, the author writes an action-packed thriller with a story that hooks up to the end. Great material for a movie. Definitely recommended.

An experienced pilot, a hundred and thirty passengers on his plane and a straightforward flight to New York. The passengers settle in for the flight little knowing that the pilot's wife and two children have been kidnapped and the pilot has been told that if he wants to see his family again, then he must crash the plane!
This is a great read and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
I thank the author, publisher and Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I haven’t said this often but I wish I could give 10 stars to this book because it deserves them. I will follow this author, in the hope that she will do another book. The emotions that I felt while reading it were some of the most powerful that I have ever felt while reading any novel.Good job!

Very much a version of the movie Speed only on a plane. The book opens with airplane pilot Bill leaving to captain an unexpected flight. His boss asked him directly so he didn’t feel he can say no. About 20 minutes into his flight he enters a nightmare. He gets a video call on his tablet. A man is holding his wife and son hostage. Both wearing vests of explosives. Bill gets a chilling instruction. Crash the plane, or his family dies. The remainder of the novel goes on with Bill trying to figure out how he can save his family and all the passengers on board. Enlisting the assistance of the flight attendants on board, he does his best to keep his subterfuge secret so as not to rouse the suspicion of the man who is threatening his family’s life.

I can’t say that this book does anything brand new or supremely exciting, but it was enjoyable and has some good action and some interesting characters. Definitely a good one when you consider that it’s a debut. I think if you enjoy shows like 24 then you may enjoy this book too. Better than a 3-star but not quite a 4-star so I’m splitting the difference at 3.5.

I enjoyed this novel. The plot was well conceived. The prose was just average, but it's a plot-driven story so that's fine.

I truly enjoyed this book and I'm so glad someone finally took a chance on this new author. The book was well written and kept up at a good pace. The characters were likeable and there was just enough guess work to keep you on your toes. It is frightening to think that a situation like this could actually happen but it's also encouraging to know there are many options in place that us land lovers would never know about. I highly recommend this book.

Oh boy!! Let me just tell you, you better grab hold of your woobie, favorite stuffy, nerve calming tea, and have someone on standby in case your heart just races away from you while reading this one! Both thrilling as well as raw, visceral and completely believable equals one terrifying, squeeze your eyes shut, but keep peeking through the cracks kind of read. Do I recommend it? Ummmm... YES YES AND YES! Don’t pass up this amazing creation by none other than one of the amazing flight attendants circling our globe. Now boarding for flight terror! This seat is yours!

Thank you to #NetGalley, Avid Reader Books, Simon and Schuster as well as the crazy talented, and one of my favorite new authors TJ Newman for an electronic ARC in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

A fantastic thrill ride as pilot Ben’s family is kidnapped and he’s faced with the choice of sacrificing his family or Flight 416 from LAX to JFK. Resolute in his determination that neither will happen, his cabin crew proves as strong as he is.

Reading Falling was like reading an action movie. The way T.J. Newman tells the story makes your heart race from the first word. It was hard to put down because you just had to know how it all ended.

Captain Bill Hoffman’s family is kidnapped and he has the difficult choice of saving his family or the 149 souls on board the flight.

But can Bill save everyone even though there is a mole on board who also wants to see the plane crash to get their message told to the whole world.

Throughout the fast pace story, that will leave you on the edge of your seat and cause your heart to race the story alternates between the actions being taken on and off the plane to thwart the plane from crashing or the Hoffman family being murdered.

The only complaint I had was one of the characters nicknames was Big Daddy and he was always called Daddy which was weird to me but didn’t take away from the actual story

Thanks to Avid Reader Press, Simon & Schuster, and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.
