I love this series and hope it never has to end. I love the weaving of past characters into the story lines. Ben Stephens was a knockout protagonist. Loved every minute of it.

Celebrity meets average guy and sparks ensue....a bit predictable, but I love the way Jasmine Guillory does suspenseful romance. This is a fun, lighthearted read.

I'm a huge fan of Jasmine Guillory's books and While We Were Dating is no exception.

While We Were Dating is an extremely cute addition to the Wedding Date series. With Jasmine's signature wit and charming characters, everyone who picks up this book is guaranteed to enjoy this one.

One thing I truly enjoyed about this book is the focus on a celebrity and non-celebrity relationship. I think it was just such a fun aspect to this book and really made for an enjoyable reading experience. Ben and Anna are just so sweet and I love that working on this advertising job brings them closer together. And just like every other Jasmine Guillory book, these characters bring out the best in each other, and I just love being along for the ride.

While it wasn't my favourite of her books, I still loved every minute of it and am counting down the days until I can read Jasmine Guillory's next book!

My first Jasmine Guillory.

Subplots all good! Mental Health (yes, be prepared), work/life balance (don't we all need a little of this??), family...good, good, good.

I thought the characters were intriguing. Not in the lose some sleep over the storyline, but let me get a little comfier and keep reading.

I will definitely read another one of her novels!

It's easy chick lit read but after so many books in the series they all start to sound the same. Probably would've done it as my easy car audiobook instead of ebook.

Not my fave romance novel, but I did SUPER DUPER enjoy the bits that involved fake dating. (Another favorite trope of mine, I realize now!)

Another charming and entertaining novel from JG! I loved the characters and it was great to have such a fun and interesting leading lady. I loved it from start to finish and can’t wait to keep reading more from JG! Thank you netgalley for my free copy!

Jasmine Guillory is one of my favorite authors and I will read anything she writes. I have been waiting for this book since I finished the last book of the Wedding Date series.

And I can confidently say.. It did not disappoint.

While We Were Dating was an amazing love story between Ben and Anna, who comes from very different worlds and are both dealing with their own issues from the past. I was rooting for the couple right from the start and absolutely adored this book.

Can't wait to see what Jasmine writes next

I really, really, really wanted to like this book, however, it fell a bit flat for me.

While I enjoyed the premise, the setting, and the characters, I often felt like a few things were a bit rushed and not fleshed out enough for my liking. The problems that the main characters faced with each other felt at times out-of-the-blue and then all at once mended.

Jasmine Guillory does it again.

While We Were Dating was an amazing love story between Ben and Anna, who comes from two different worlds and are both dealing with issues from their past that.

Guillory writes about Black love in no way any other author can, from the moment you start you fall in love with the hero and you feel the pain the heroine has felt in her past.

Together Ben and Anna cover come issues dealing with mental health and commitment issues. They learn to love and trust one another and find joy and passion in their lives again.

I cannot wait to see what Jasmine is working on next.

Jasmine Guillroy is one of my favourite writers. I love her books and sense of humour.
This book is terrific!
Ben and Anna are a wonderful couple and i was cheering for them from the beginning.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

The story was boring for me. Don't get me wrong, some of it was funny (like when Ben and his brother hid Anna in a suitcase.) I liked how mental health and anxiety played a part in the story. The topic of mental health needs to continue to be brought into society. The book took me a while to finish.

Ben Stephens has never bothered with serious relationships. He has plenty of casual dates to keep him busy and his advertising job to focus on. When Ben lands a huge ad campaign featuring movie star Anna Gardiner, however, it’s hard to keep it purely professional. Anna Gardiner is on a mission: to make herself a household name, and this ad campaign will be a great start. However, she didn’t expect Ben Stephens to be her biggest distraction. She knows mixing business with pleasure never works out, but why not indulge in a harmless flirtation? But their lighthearted banter takes a turn for the serious when Ben helps Anna in a family emergency, and they reveal truths about themselves to each other, truths they’ve barely shared with those closest to them. When the opportunity comes to turn their real-life fling into something more for the Hollywood spotlight, will Ben be content to play the background role in Anna’s life and leave when the cameras stop rolling? Or could he be the leading man she needs to craft their own Hollywood ending? review: Jasmine Guillory’s books are always such a delight! This book felt like it had a bit more substance than some of her others. I really liked that this book talked about therapy (and how it’s normal!) and mental health a lot. While I found the main character, Anna, a little annoying at times, I really enjoyed the authentic relationship she and Ben had. Ben was a stand-out character and both characters felt very realistic to me. This is a quick read, but I think my favorite in the series is Party of Two. rating: 3.5 out of 5 ⭐️

So I think I’m late to the party?! This is the sixth book in the Wedding Date series and the first that I’ve read. Now I need to go back to the beginning and see where this cute story began. Even without knowing what happened with characters in this novel prior, I was engrossed with this story. It had characters that I rooted for and enjoyed the writing.

Jasmine Guillory continues to provide fun reads, featuring two likeable main characters. I love that the characters in The Wedding Date series are interconnected in some way, but the novels also work as standalones for those that haven't read the ones before. Definitely a charming story!

I hope Jasmine Guillory writes a million books in this series. While We Were Dating is her 6th book in the series and it features Ben Stephens and Anna Gardiner. Ben works for an ad agency and is going to be working on a new commercial starring Anna Gardiner. Anna is a talented actress with a big heart. When a casual fling possibly turns more serious, can the two make it work?
I love that these books allow past main characters of the series to come back and be present for the story. This is another fantastic addition to the series.

Since the first book in this series all the rest have been a hit or miss for me. And this one was a bit of a miss. I wanted so much more from this book. I thought since it had a celebrity, I was going to get a glitzy, whirlwind romance, but what I got instead was a road trip.

Ben works in advertising and this project he’s been working on is the biggest account he’s ever landed. The person they have for the ad is none other than the stunning actress, Anna Gardiner. As they work together to make the ad come alive, they get closer and closer. Until suddenly they’ve shared more than they thought with each other. But once they’re caught together, they make the decision to fake date to help boost Anna’s image. But what does Ben get out of that? And will that be ok with the two of them once it’s all said and done?

Ok, so lets get to what I didn’t like. THE ROMANCE. It was so boring. I wanted it to be so much of a whirlwind that I was jealous because I’d never know what it was like to be with a celebrity. But it was nothing like that. And when it finally was, it wasn’t real! And let’s be honesty, the hottest part of this romance was the car ride to the hotel room. I wanted more of The Wedding Party glitz and glam. I understand that their personalities are just different, but this could have used more pizazz. And the overall spice was a 2 like classic Guillory with a little more than fade to black.

The reason I gave it 3 stars still was the story telling and the representation that was shown. As a Black woman with anxiety, I understood SO MUCH of this side of Anna. And then when she mentioned that her parents always said “all she needed was prayer” or something like that, I felt for her. Black families are so quick to pass off mental health struggles as something that can be pushed away or dealt with by prayer and I felt so bad for her. I have been there and it is not fun. Unfortunately the family diversity with Ben fell SO. SHORT. Absolutely nothing happened plot wise with her and I felt like it was just something for him to “do” while he was with Anna. It turns out it was another way to introduce a new character. Who knows if there will be a book with this new person now. We shall see.

This wasn’t what I wanted this book to be lol It sounds so weird when I say it like that because I didn’t write it, but Idk how else to say it. This book needed some more glitter and personality. I was hoping for a huge celebrity when we got like B list instead. Hopefully things will be back to “normal” in the next book! (Is there one? Please say yes. I don’t want to leave off on this one!)
