Not at all what I was expecting but David Hoon Kim's Paris Is a Party, Paris Is a Ghost drew me in early and kept me interested until the end. Thanks for NetScape for an opportunity to try a new to me author.

Paris is a Party, Paris is a Ghost is definitely a darkly comic novel of becoming lost and found in translation.

The novel starts off with Henrik discussing Fumiko. To me, it was very depressing and had me on the edge of my seat to see when she would emerge from her room. The characters are interesting, yet you do not really get to know them very well. While he is waiting for Funiko to respond to him he expands his quest to a French blink widow, Korean ex-pats, to the woman who is sitting on the train.

It is not what I expected, but it is very well written and thought-provoking.
