I received this from Netgalley. This preview was interesting. The four chapters introduce you to the characters and bring you up to speed on what has happened in the previous book. I would need to read the previous book first to continue this series.

Home for the Holidays was an adorable winter holiday read, so I'm really excited to see what happens with the Buchanan sisters in this followup - The Summer Sisters. It'll be interesting to see how Rose pulls off the grand opening (I'm being optimistic, of course!), what's up with Aunt Sassy, and what will happen between Ike and Dahlia. I like the shifting POVs, and would recommend reading the prequel before diving into this one. There's a lot of history that would be helpful to know before the start of this book.

Many thanks to Forever and Netgalley for the chance to read this preview!

My gosh this book really made me want to read the prequel, Home for the Holidays! It felt like there was definitely a big chunk of past history that was missing from the book, most of the relationships are established in the previous novel and I felt a little disappointed that this one didn't elaborate on that more. I don't really think this works as a stand alone because of that feeling of something being missing, but having only read the first 4 chapters I'm not sure if this is something that is perhaps worked on later on the book?

Anyway! For the rest of it, there's a lot here that's definitely intriguing and the drama is built up nicely, all the women we've met so far and have been marvellously distinct with their own problems to work through. I will admit I was a bit confused by all the name dropping in the beginning but it soon started to make sense.

The preview left off at a very humorous scene and I'm very excited to see how it ends!

This preview to Sara Richardson's The Summer Sisters was great!

I cannot wait to read the rest of the book to find out if Rose can pull off the grand reopening, if Dahlia and Ike can connect, and what is going on with Aunt Sassy.

I am a big fan of Sara's and this women's fiction story is a great blend of family, individual growth, and romance!

Rose is the youngest Buchanan sister and she’s in charge of renovating eight cabins at the Juniper Inn and turning it into a money making mountain resort and its grand opening is in a week. Rose is in trouble, her contractor threatens to quit, and she desperately needs to repair a cabin roof. When her Aunt Sassy returns early from her trip, handsome Colt is with her, Rose is stuck in the roof, and he saves her and sigh!
I read a short preview of: The Summer Sisters by Sara Richardson, after four chapters I was very interested in the story and I defiantly want to read more about the cabin renovations, and the sizzling chemistry between Rose and Colt.
Thanks to NetGalley for my preview copy and five stars from me.

I’ve never read any women’s fiction before so I thought I would give this preview a try since I didn’t have to commit to the entire book.

However I did not realize until I started reading it that this is a sequel in the Juniper Springs series. The first book in the series is called Home for The Holidays.

I personally was a little confused about certain things since I have not read the first book although I believe this can’t technically be read as a stand-alone I personally am prefer to read books in the order they are released so I may have to read the first book before jumping into this series.

I did enjoy the first 4 chapters though. I liked how each chapter was told from a different persons point of View. In the preview we get chapters from Rose, Dahlia and Sassy. I love when books are told from multiple points of view so I really liked that we got to hear from each of the main characters.

I enjoyed these first few chapters and I definitely and interested in seeing where the rest of the story goes so I will definitely read Home for The Holidays and then read The Summer Sisters.

I've read a few of Sara Richardson's cowboy novels in the past and they've always been utterly charming and delightful. She has a fantastic sense of humour that really shows up on the page, and the romances never fail to leave me smiling.

This is the first Women's fiction novel I've read by her and it was a bit of a confusing one! Whilst it can be read as a standalone I'd probably advise to read Home for the Holidays first, I know I'm definitely going to before the full book is released.

There are a lot of names mentioned in the first couple of pages, and some of them are very similar, there's a Magnolia and a Marigold even and it took a while for me to get them all straight. It didn't help that some of them have nicknames so that was even more names to remember.

The character's all have established relationships from the previous book, we're told in the beginning that two of the women have already begun to have a romance with their respective partners and I did feel a bit disappointed that I missed out on their initial meetings. Honestly though, most of these complaints are on me for not reading the previous book.

Now, onto the things I did like!

I loved how different all the woman are--in the sampler we meet Rose, who is struggling to renovate the inn on time by herself, her sister Dahlia who is a mom of two and wondering if it's time to start a new romance with a certain doctor, and their Aunt Sassy, who it seems has problems of her own.

There's a lot of set-up, there's various things going wrong with the cabins, there's internal inflict with Dahlia and her inability to open up and the problems with Aunt Sassy. I loved the warmth between all the characters, especially Aunt Sassy and Rose, I can't wait to read more about them. I also really liked the humorous scene at the end of the sample, it definitely left me with a smile on my face!

Overall I did like this sampler but I definitely feel that reading the first book will improve your enjoyment.

Many thanks to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and Netgalley for a chance to read this sampler in exchange for an honest review.
