This book was thought provoking with interesting exercises. It explains a lot as to why I like animals way better than people.

Thank you to the Publisher and Netgalley for the advanced e-reader copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

Rather than an A to Z book of animals and what they mean Ms McKenzie has written a way to find what our animals mean to us,. I was always leary of thinking an animal showing up just meant something the same for everyone and so I brushed them off as irrelevant. True I love the creatures that have blessed me with their presence but I didn't have the know how as to put it all into perspective. This very very interesting book gave me a way to connect with them and make up my mind for myself. First there are stories that explain everything important .I learn by hearing funny, sad, or important stories so I relished reading about others experiences. My favorite chapter was the Winged one. Right now I see ducks, Geese, and plenty of birds outside my windows daily. I have a goose that has taken up residence in the pond nearby and her little goslings are parading around right now. I wished I could know what they were thinking the other day. This book gives anyone with an open mind and common sense the the information needed to connect with their animal companions. The exercises are practical and simple. I won't tell you what I think the Goose with the goslings was feeling but after reading this I bet her coming to my area was no mistake but part of Creators web of connections to people who care about animals. This book is the best one yet I have read as far as making conscious connections to our creature friends that I have read. You must read this fi you want to find out more of what is going on all around us but is ignored most of the time.

I have always felt more powerfully connected to Zeke - my Shiba Inu - as compared with any human being that I have ever known. This book reinforced my belief that animals are here to help us grow and develop our souls and that caring for our companion animals is a way of fulfilling the purpose that we came to this earth for.

The exercises are helpful and enlightening, and the author's own personal stories were awe-inspiring. If you feel yourself specifically drawn to animals in general or one animal in particular, check out this book and see what your soul may be accomplishing through that relationship. There is more to animals than meets the eye and while we may be their "trainers", on the soul level it is more about what they are teaching us!
