This copy was kindly provided to me by Netgalley and the publisher for review. All opinions are my own.

I was unable to finish reading this before it archived but I was really enjoying it. As a yoga instructor dipping my toe deeper into meditation this book is a great beginning friendly 'manual'. I might even go out and buy myself a copy it was that good.

The Magic of Nature by Jessica Marie Baumgartner focuses on reconnecting with nature and the old ways of doing things before technology and capitalism become the norm. It's looking back at simpler times to create a stronger spiritual and nature connection. There is also a focus on reconnecting with nature as a way to reconnect with humanity and the planet to create positive change for the future.

This book covers various themes and there are meditations and simple spells that are associated with each theme to help you embody those elements, activities and connections. Themes like the earth elements: fire/water/air/earth, gardening, hiking, trees, hunting, handiwork are covered. Some of them were simple to incorporate into your life for the average person, others would only appeal to people with certain skills or access to tools like meditations/spells on woodworking or hunting or sewing.

I enjoyed the concept of this book and if you are looking for a book focused on unique meditations I would recommend it.

I highly recommend Jessica Marie Baumgartner’s new book. She offers a meditative practice that includes nature-based rituals and spells (yes, spells) to help you connect with your true self and energy that is often silenced by our immersion in worldly busy-ness, digital intrusions, and that general lack of self-care that we often suffer from. This book contains different sections, and each section is essential to the various meditations and spellwork included. A great resource to have with you when connecting your inner self with nature.

Really liked these book. It is for those who have an underlying mediation practice and knowing basics. It gives a number of mediations (with some spells as well). No time limit on the meditations which can be a good thing.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Llewellyn Publications for the opportunity to read this book. I've been devouring books with mediations recently and I have to say that this book is beautiful. There are so many ideas for connecting with nature through a variety of mediums. While this book contains a million mediations, it is also a helpful guide of to-do items should you feel called to try something new. From working with your hands, to fire and stars, there are a ton of methods for getting back to communing with the natural world.

First, I'd like to thank Net Galley and Llewellyn Publications for the opportunity to read this book.

I am a sucker for Llewellyn Publication books. When I saw the opportunity to read another book from them, I had to request it. However, this review is 100% unbiased and I will do my best to give this book, and any other book I read, justice. "The Magic of Nature" is also the first book I have read by Jessica Marie Baumgartner.

Before the hustle and bustle of everyday life, humankind was more connected to the Earth than we are now. However, Jessica Marie Baumgartner does a beautiful job guiding the reader in multiple ways of connecting with nature, even in the society that we live in.

This book contains different sections, and each section is essential to the various meditations and spellwork included. I am a water sign, and I, of course, drifted to the sections containing anything to do with water. But let me tell you that there are SO many meditations and spellwork, it would be surprising if a reader did not find anything to resonate with.

A great resource to have with you when connecting your inner self with nature.

This book discusses multiple ways to connct more to nature. It covers ten topics: earth meditations, gardening, hiking, swimming, sleeping outdoors, fire, trees, hunting/fishing/foraging, handiwork, and trust. Each topic includes a brief discussion, meditations, actions, and spells to consider. I appreciate that there are many different options given depending on a person's ability and living conditions. With all of the time spent indoors, there are fun options and tips to begin spending more time outdoors. There are also more advanced options if you have more experience with a topic.

My only caveat is that there are no citations/references which could lend the material more validity.

If you are looking for book with new and interesting spells which incorporate nature, then this book will offer you a nice collection of the same. Very nice parts of text are about health, finding the right guidance or encouragement. And actually magic spells are best material in this book. Other instructions are often blurry and not so easy to understand, forex. check out this sentence: "Let silent thought hold more meaning than static". or "Clear the mind and let it guide you where it wants to", or "Do not hide from negative energies, but remember the positive ones"...Seems that some clarifications are needed and more detailed instructions, especially about meditations in this book. Chapter about hunting and shooting animals, no matter how explained, probably will not be welcomed by some folks and it will be like Lennon's "But first you must learn how to smile as you kill..."

Reconnecting with nature is so dry healing. I remember the times of the most stress in my life and the healing escape of going outside and hiking or camping. I didn't understand the reasons why it made me feel better but after reading this excellent book I do. Ms Baumgartner has written a very practical and positive way of healing yourself and even helping others by doing simple things and activities in nature. Even if you can't get to a park or your yard isn't huge she gives things you can do at home or while out that give life more meaning. I especially enjoyed reading about star gazing and the tree meditations which I plan on ding once the washer changes enough here to go outside on a more daily basis. If you re looking for a way to improve your life IMO this book and these simple techniques will bring you outside of yourself and into the world around you again.
